Baalke got canned. Give John Lynch a call. I would happily trade a 2nd and 5th for Joe Staley. Very unlikely though. And what makes Flowers a good RT? He may even be worse. His future is on the inside and its going to take time for him to learn that position.
RE: He's also hedging on his WFAN departure due to the Carton disaster. Â
Unfortunately for such a successful person, Mike is one of the most insecure individuals on the planet.
It goes to show you how money can not change your basic personality.
You do have to give him credit for putting up with the many lowest common denominator fans who call during his timeslot. Before he goes, he should work on a "Dumb caller" composite at put it on you tube.
when talking about trading the farm for an old LT. Eli may be the problem, which would make trading for an LT absolutely pointless.
While many of you scratch your heads on why our line isn't better, maybe you should also think about about the reluctance to give up picks if the FO isn't sold on Eli anymore.
Stings to say but it could be a possible scenario.
Massie had a very up and down season in 2016. Sometimes he would be very ineffective pass blocking and would struggle run blocking, but he got a little better as the season went on. But to start out the year, his play was “scary.” Some of the rankings he had put him somewhere towards the end of the NFL’s tackle group but somehow, he managed to be just a little more than serviceable. His pass blocking has been rated as fair while his run blocking is rated as poor.
After watching him play in every game last season, this writer often referred to him as a “revolving door” allowing defenders to blow by him and into the backfield. But the Bears didn’t have anyone better last season. They lived with Massie, and they got by.
He was very good in AZ. Had a rough start in Chicago and got himself right towards the end of the season. If they pull this off... You could see Massie and Fluker starting on Monday night.
Amazing how Sunday night was suddenly the tipping point. Â
Exactly, like the rest of us didn't see this shit show with the OL all off season. You sign Fluker and de-activate him. Expect top performances from a JAG like Jerry, and a developmental, undersized right tackle. McAdoo's frustration on Sunday night when asked about handling stunts and talking about technique...and his "no comment" to asking about knowing this for months told you all you needed to know. These guys can't do the job, so you need to replace them. I just wish they didn't throw away a game to figure this out.
Off of New England's practice squad. Guy was active for all 19 Patriots games last year. He is versatile as he can play both G/C.
He is only 24 years old. Can play all three interior line positions. Get rid of Fluker if he's not even going to be active. Maybe you find lightning in a bottle.
Should trade any pick except the first for Thomas if available. I would trade a third or lower for Staley. Something needs to be done as the offensive line is truly terrible.

Fluker wasn't even good when they signed him. Why is anyone even talking about Fluker? The team that drafted him didn't want anything to do with him. He's not the answer to anything. He's a bigger, possibly slower John Jerry.

Staley is going to cost a first rounder. Giants are in an incredibly weak bargaining position.

That way we have to get 1-2 stud OL guys with no excuses. Eli will still be decent enough next year.
We all know this OL stinks and Giant brass blew it bigtime not to add one decent player. How could you be so dumb? I mean Engram may be a beast, but we have several decent TEs in Ellison, Adams, Lacosse, Tye. Those guys are good enough, especially with 3 good WRs. WE NEEDED OL GUYS FIRST AND FOREMOST!!!!

This is my take exactly. People talk about a narrow window for Eli, but from what I am seeing, maybe it is more about building for the long term, i.e. after Eli. I don't know but it is worth thinking about. I do not think we are in "win now" mode, at least I hope not. I want to put a consistently strong team on the field.
"STOP THE PRESSES" Comment. My god Mike why don't you tell us something we didn't know. In fact I will take it one step closer. Reese should have started drafting O-line with a 1st or 2nd round pick in 2012 immediately after the Super Bowl. If he had done that, and I said it to my brother right after we won the 2011 Super Bowl, we wouldn't be in the un fixable situation
in time to plug him in for Monday night what do you do with EF?
RT? IMHO no. RG: his better position but he has to swallow the position book AND perform better than guys that have been there or practiced there...same for the RT spot.
Given JRs love for 'project'OL' and his less than stellar drafting of same my guess is either he hardlines on EF @ LT and Wheeler is RT...or he gives in and lets EF use his strengths at RG and Wheeler ar RT. He then goes interior and LT in the '18 draft(barring signing a FA).
Problem is the right side and we need help since last season there...especially now if Hart has an ankle;-) for a while.
He srewedup by drafting only 1 OL(Beatty) in rd 1 or 2 in his first 7 years of GM while our '07 OL was declining then he was forced to after Eli's near murder during '12 season from protection problems similar to last Sunday and now trying to mask the OL problem with 'weapons'. Tipping the hand on Conklin didn't help either.
A short term solution from outside the organization will be costly...and internal one is a ?? given writeups on our backups.
Fun times ahead.
Go Giants.
So the need is actually for two offensive tackles. Yes, they should look to trade high draft picks to do this. They obviously can't make good decisions drafting lineman, so they're going to have to trade for them. They need to pry two tackles from teams going nowhere, and then we'd have a legit shot at going all the way.
Maybe he should get on a conference call with McAdoo and Reece.
Everyone wants them, and no one wants to give them up.
Everyone wants them, and no one wants to give them up.
Don't bother, someone will insist you can get Thomas or Staley for a song any minute now...

He is a hero - he got the NYC Marathon canceled and got Piazza and Cespedes traded to the Mets.

Guaranteed that most on the tape watch ESPN..
Yes I believe I do. "Anthony Davis trade coming this week..."
Manning has...1-2 years left? Can't waste any more time with these guys, they are that bad.
I want a ring this year

Agreed
and here we go again..eraser...oye vey lmfao
Darnald likely won't come out in 18, but the year after 19' draft..yeah

hasn't looked much better, perhaps it will be time to enter the Darnold sweepstakes.

oh ok lol..rough time, but still going..thanks Jon
likewise hope all good your way.

We're never giving up a pick for an offensive lineman ever again, draft or otherwise.
Confirmed
But one has to think that Reese can't let this season go to waste then again............

Do something, lol

No, would cost a second.
