I don't even know what to say, that's random as it gets.

I can't believe it or think he deserves it. If true just more evidence

For current era of mediocrity as excellence
From that link it seems the only criteria

are that you were on an NFL roster for 5 full seasons and have been retired for 5 seasons. So Smith should be on it, technically.

IMO,was better then Shephard is now. Smith created more separation and ran better routes then Shephard. Smith had those little clever moves to get open like Welker used to. Both Smith and Shepard have little ability once they have the ball. Shepard is a pretty good player but I thought he would be better.
Smith for the HOF? Are they kidding?
I loved Steve Smith

That's gotta be a mistake.

The other Steve Smith had his last game for the Panthers in 2013 -they may have accidentally included him as being eligible.
He was a starter,

for only two seasons....

"Fake Steve Smith". What crap. Guy caught 100 passes in a season. Like so many other NFL players he got hurt and his career was derailed. Show the man some respect.

True. He got injured his rookie season but was a key player once he got healthy during our Super Bowl run. He was terrific a couple of years after that but unfortunately, his career was cut short by injuries. It happens but it doesn't diminish his play on the field when healthy. He was a very likable player.

Me too. So smart, so reliable. Loved watching him play.
Shepard

was not really worth the 2nd round pick. Smith was very polished coming into the league. High floor, low ceiling. Shepard is not savvy or refined in any way. He needs a heavy dose of growacet so that he can fight for the ball and hold onto the damn thing.
It's not a worthwhile bbi thread,

Vote for Steve!

NFL has a fan vote page where you can vote for your choices. Except look at his picture. No respect. :-(

What's that? You like pearls?
The injury
St. Jimmy : 9/13/2017 5:58 am : link
derailed his career. After Asomugha and Rodgers-Cromartie he may be the third most hated player on the Dream Team for Eagle fans. Jason Babin is up there too. It sucked when he signed with the Eagles.
The difference between Shepard and Steve Smith

is that when Steve Smith caught 3rd down passes he was make sure he is beyond the first down marker or that there is a play to get the first down.. Shepard looks like he will get 8 yards when 10 are needed and only 4 when 6 are needed..

Shepard is good but he is nothing more than a number 3 wr.. while Steve Smith was a legit number 1 WR if not for the injury..
Healthy Steve Smith was a really good player
Deej : 9/13/2017 10:00 am : link
the guy just lost players when he cut. Sort of like Odell does, but in a different way. A really, really good #2 WR.
Agree....
