Up until this point all we heard was crap like "its just one or two things we need to fix", or "the plays were there we just didn't execute", etc., etc. etc. It was a constant downplaying of the obvious and just expecting the switch to go on. This is what every losing team I have ever rooted for has said. IMO, Parcells would have said something more like we suck.
Then Sunday's embarrassment happened. It was like capitulation in the stock market. I'm hoping all the negative press, national embarrassment, and disgusted player reactions lead McAdoo to finally address this offense issue in a big way. If it forces us to get the right players in there, change the game plans, and alter the in-game play calling, then I think losing week 1 will be well worth it.
We'll see on Monday night, but this capitulation may have saved our season.
There's a chance they might self-scout some adjustments at the bye week.
They started 0-2 last season. Was your world splitting in two then as well?
The Patriots just gave up a franchise record in points allowed under Belichick. They're still going to play next week.

gotta say...you often post stuff that makes me feel less inclined to chime in. thanks for your rational behavior. this place is pathetic.

umm they started 2-0 last season.
A rout is 3 hours of pain and a week of recriminations. I would personally rather enjoy a close game. Also...living in Maryland it has been 4 days of "WTF happened"?
I'm not one of the eternal optimists who populate this board like subway rats. If you don't recognize there is a very real chance this OL, as currently constructed, is going to torpedo this season, then you haven't been paying attention going back to last year. Sooner or later, you're going to have to score more than 20 points to win a game and this offense is incapable of doing so, with or without Odell. I'm willing to side with the Sunny Blue Sky crowd this week, but if come 7 days from now and the team is staring at 0-3 with a HIGHLY likely loss in week 3, it's time to panic. This thing could snowball to 2-5 by the bye and, if so, you can turn out the lights on 2017.
Could it happen? Sure, I guess. But I wouldn't count on it. We all knew it was a gamble to go into this season with the same line. Some, like myself, were probably naive & thought that some of these guys would improve with experience & offseason work. Others were probably right that a lot of these guys just aren't that good & we were courting disaster.

People need to calm down. They lost a game.

then lost 3 in a row, were you calling for the season to be over last year?
I have very little faith McAdoo can adjust. He is a one trick dink and dunk pony.

The internet is great place to find dumb.

and his idiotic WCO scheme. He is committed to it and he thinks it can work with this OL and this QB. He is wrong. If he did not realize this after last season hand him a dunce cap and put him in the corner.

You can find dumb in your own mirror. Don't even need the internet.
Remember, in 2014 and 2015, TC was still the HC and most likely still pushing for certain routes and schemes.
Mac took full control in 2016, and really beyond a few games, the offense took a different look. For whatever reasons......who knows.
Now I see throws short of sticks, ugly bubble screens, and plays designed to players that seem to just not fit.
OBJ is the lone exception, he could play in any style offense.
It didn;t get better it got worse , Whatever the game plan was we can throw it out the window . If it wasn't for the talent on defense they could have hung 35 on us .
In some defense of Eli to me got very little play time in
pre-season and basically zero with Brandon Marshall or
Dwayne Harris . Same goes for the O-line but I wasn't expecting them to perform any better .
So I agree glad we got to see just how putrid the O=line is and how Ben Mac got his butt handed to him downright embarrassment as you saw in his miserable post fame interview .
With our stellar record on MNF against a tough Lions team with an A+ QB who thrives in close 4th quarter games
and Philly on the horizon . Ben Mac has his work cut out for him !

Good point but they did play on national TV and they were only able to score one field goal. They've done that once since 1960 or something to that extent. And this AFTER the GM and Coach pretty much said we'll stand pat on the O line and improve the offense with more weapons. nether of which really worked on Monday.
True. They can give those 19 and 0 tshirts away in Ethiopia now.
