When we picked him up in the off-season, he was supposed to be a difference maker in the red zone. At 6'5", and against inexperienced, much shorter corners, the jump ball didn't go to him once. What does it take, like 1.5 seconds for Eli to get the toss into the corner of the end zone???? WTF, Ben!!!!!!
Opportunities were there for Brandon Marshall against Cowboys - ( New Window )
the one play where he is standing wide open on the 45 is eye opening, i dont know why eli did not pull the trigger...
at least this proves he can still get open...
this also proves why having beckham back helps so much
The other third down pass to Marshall had no chance because he badly threw it behind him....
And the the third pass play I remember was a long overthrown pass where Marshall was covered.....
Marshall's only catch was in garbage time....
Did it look like there was any chemistry between Eli and Marshall? Did it look like Marshall tried to elevate his game, with OBj not out there? Or did it look like a receiver that wanted to be a on a team with a #1 receiver, so that he didn't have to be #1? Or did he look like the player, his former team mates talked about?
One game does not answer those questions.....maybe he just needs more reps with Eli....
I was surprise on the second and goal play, that even though Marshall was covered, with the CB facing Eli, he did not fade it to Marshall when he had the chance, and instead looked elsewhere and it was too late because the DL got to him.....What does that tell you? We have seen him throw to SS and OBj on fade routes when covered, yet he didn't pull the trigger with Marshall, why?

Doom - my number one question from that game.
That was a big possession...we used practically half the third quarter and only got three points. That was a good trade off for Dallas.
Why Eli didn't throw it, I have no idea. The fact they haven't "worked together" long enough.....doesn't make any sense. It's one on one coverage with a size receiver, you throw it.
Something wasn't right.
