We hit Archer ok
dune69 : 9/13/2017 1:54 pm : link
but I don't trust Garcia. We need more.
Can our pitchers ever get 3 straight freakin' outs after
shockeyisthebest8056 : 9/13/2017 1:57 pm : link
we score?????????????
Great play by Castro and Garcia.
shockeyisthebest8056 : 9/13/2017 1:59 pm : link
They were certainly lucky the slowest guy in the stadium hit the ball.
Thank goodness...
shockeyisthebest8056 : 9/13/2017 2:00 pm : link
Garcia gets out of the jam.
Interesting take on Sonny by Leiter and Kay
BigBlue2112 : 9/13/2017 2:01 pm : link
He works veryy slow. Always has. Avg 30 sec in between pitches. Does this effect his career long low run support?
Off topic but Otani's definitely coming over next season.
bceagle05 : 9/13/2017 2:09 pm : link
Hopefully Cashman's personal appearance in Japan helped sway him our way.
Doesn't Otani want to hit too?
shockeyisthebest8056 : 9/13/2017 2:19 pm : link
Dammit... Clint leaves the bases jammed.
Garcia gives up a homer to Keirmaier.
shockeyisthebest8056 : 9/13/2017 2:23 pm : link
3-1 Yanks.
Does Garcia
Kyle in NY : 9/13/2017 2:25 pm : link
ever throw a first pitch strike? The sooner Chad Green gets into this game, the better
well we are probably seeing the Rays pen for 4 or more innings
Stu11 : 9/13/2017 2:26 pm : link
once again. We've done nothing vs. them all series, hopefully today we do some damage.
Girardi's on board with Otani...

“He’s definitely intriguing,” Joe Girardi said Wednesday of the two-way international star. “Obviously I haven’t seen much of him, I just hear reports about him. I was asked today: ‘Could a guy pitch and DH some?’ And I think it’s possible. I do.

“I think you’d be concerned a little bit the day before his start. But it does create a unique situation where if he’s able to DH, it does kind of open up another spot on your roster. So to me, times where you need to go to a six-man rotation becomes a lot easier with that open spot. And there are some different things you could do.”

Getting way ahead of ourselves, but the AL teams have a leg up if he truly wants to hit. Cashman made the trip to see him just a few weeks ago, and YES even posted on its Facebook page that he's coming to the States next year. It'd be a huge - and cheap - acquisition while we wait for next year's FA class.

First base ump with a terrible call after Frazier boots a sure double

play.
He's out
ThreePoints : 9/13/2017 2:46 pm : link
but man, Jaime Garcia stinks. Can he go 5 innings?
Rays telecast showing "on this day" in 2013
Stu11 : 9/13/2017 2:50 pm : link
Reid Brignac hitting a walk-off homer off Sergio Mitre to beat us 1-0. Ahhh the great Sergio Mitre era.

The longstanding Yankees tradition of getting beaten late by garbage hitters

Yep that walk-off was most definitely dedicated to you Greg.
Damn this Rays pen has pitched well in this series
Stu11 : 9/13/2017 3:00 pm : link
.
4.2 of 1 run ball is pretty much the most that can be expected
shockeyisthebest8056 : 9/13/2017 3:07 pm : link
of Garcia.
yep he pitched well
Stu11 : 9/13/2017 3:09 pm : link
shame that he missed out on a win because of that cheap cue shot by Duda but have to make this move with Chad all ready to go.
Garcia and Joe having a conversation.
shockeyisthebest8056 : 9/13/2017 3:12 pm : link
Garcia has a right to be pissed, but Joe's job is to get wins, not get starting pitchers through 5 innings.

Green to face Longoria was the right move and it worked.
watching the TB stream at work
Stu11 : 9/13/2017 3:14 pm : link
awww cute Dwayne Stats and his color guy have been salivating for 2 innings waiting for the 5th because of Garcia's atrocious 5th inning #'s. Like he was ever going to allow more than one baserunner this inning before we saw Green.
Kiermaier's highlight reel versus the Yankees would probably be
shockeyisthebest8056 : 9/13/2017 3:16 pm : link
6 hours long. Nice laser by Clint anyway.
Chad Green is looking like a motherf'n assassin
shockeyisthebest8056 : 9/13/2017 3:26 pm : link
out of the 'pen.
Hey Hetchaenmeyer or whatever your name is

Where's the bat flip?

Huh?
I doubt Garcia
section125 : 9/13/2017 3:29 pm : link
is re-signed by the Yanks.

Green starting to look like a closer.
Garcia is essentially a 5th starter who's eating some innings
mfsd : 9/13/2017 3:31 pm : link
if we're fortunate enough to reach the ALDS, doubtful he throws a pitch
Girardi is using Garcia correctly
Kyle in NY : 9/13/2017 3:37 pm : link
It's tough on Garcia, but the objective is to get the team a win, not Garcia a win.

Random thought, does Chad Green's emergence make Betances expendable? Could get a pretty significant return for Dellin in the offseason
Great double play turned by Headley & Didi
shockeyisthebest8056 : 9/13/2017 3:44 pm : link
...
Captain Clutch Headley!!!
adamg : 9/13/2017 3:45 pm : link
Great play by Headley there.
Ellsbury stays hot
adamg : 9/13/2017 3:54 pm : link
with the double. Let's get a couple more here!
They IBB Frazier?
adamg : 9/13/2017 3:55 pm : link
Todd Frazier???
Frazier swings a bit like Josh Donaldson maybe
DennyInDenville : 9/13/2017 3:55 pm : link
Idk
Clint's had a rough day.
shockeyisthebest8056 : 9/13/2017 3:56 pm : link
The only ball he hit well had no one on base.
damn we've blown multiple opportunities to blow this game wide open
Stu11 : 9/13/2017 4:01 pm : link
hope it doesn't come back to haunt us.

I love Clint but he's left a small 3rd world nation on base today...
Angel Hernandez being 150% incompetent works out for us there.
shockeyisthebest8056 : 9/13/2017 4:04 pm : link
(Granted at least 1 of the pitches he called a ball was a strike.)
Don't quite understand this move

chapman in for the 4 out save

adamg : 9/13/2017 4:11 pm : link

Joe showing little faith in Betances...
shockeyisthebest8056 : 9/13/2017 4:11 pm : link
can't really blame him.
Chapman with a 5 pitch walk.

sure does love playing the Yankees.

This is brutal mover-managing
It's absolute torture to watch this guy pitch this season.
Dave in Hoboken : 9/13/2017 4:22 pm : link
Wow.
*over-managing
Kyle in NY : 9/13/2017 4:23 pm : link
Chapman has been fine lately. No need to unnecessarily throw him into a multi-inning save when he's shown he doesn't exactly thrive in those spots.
