Caught a couple of minutes of Kelly & Ryan this morning on TV ...
I guess Daniel Craig was manning one of the phones for the Disaster Telethon, when a caller called in. Craig identified himself; the caller never heard of him. He explained that he was an movie actor.
"Oh said the caller, what movies have you been in ?" Craig explains that he plays the part of James Bond. The caller, still not impressed, asks "who ?"
Craig answers with the calico British intonation "Bohnd, James Bohnd"; still not impressed, the caller still makes a generous pledge.
I get it, we "old farts" are living in the past, but about 25 years ago, a young lady (I think she was a Congressional intern) was being interviewed. She was asked her name, turns out her last name was Bond.
The reporter (not disrespectfully) repeats - "Bohnd" . She's annoyed and corrects him, "it's Bond". It was obvious she too never heard of the British super-spy !
Oh well.
