NGT: How long does A. Peterson

Carson53 : 9/15/2017 11:55 am
last with the New Orleans Saints? I feel 'somethin a 'brewin
down on the Bayou myself.
If he thought he was going to get a lot of carries with
Sean Payton as HC, and Brees at QB, he thought very wrong.
Brees throws over 600+ passes a season!
I will put the over/under at 8 games? What do you think?
I have no idea why he signed there in the first place
jlukes : 9/15/2017 11:59 am : link
he knew there would be a time share with AT LEAST one other guy, and it has always been a pass first offense.
He's there to grind out games
UConn4523 : 9/15/2017 12:01 pm : link
but heir defense sucks so that will likely be a problem all season. My guess is they work through it for the next few weeks and shop him for a pick if there is a falling out.

I always thought it was a weird fit. He isn't a good pass catcher and because of that they are far more obvious when he's in the game. Their line also sucks so there's that too.
Not long
RobCrossRiver56 : 9/15/2017 12:01 pm : link
I have my money on a suspension fro the Saints for conduct detrimental to the team or something like that.

or

Outright release him.
He is a solid fit
Fish : 9/15/2017 12:02 pm : link
here in Blue. Veteran that can help with the run game. Perkins /Darkwa currently scare no one. AP runs hard, smash mouth. Something we've been clamoring for since BJ and AB
It would make absolute sense for the Saints to trade him
allstarjim : 9/15/2017 12:05 pm : link
But I feel they won't, because he's great insurance if Ingram were to go down.

There are a LOT of teams where he would be a great fit. I don't want him on the Giants, he's a POS child abuser.
With the way
gmen9892 : 9/15/2017 12:14 pm : link
He was in Payton's ear, I dont think its going to last very long. Having said that, I dont know how much leash Payton has left either. Seems to be running out of good vibes down there.
He went there
BigBlueDownTheShore : 9/15/2017 12:15 pm : link
Because they would spend the money.
The Saints GM is the Pits!
ZogZerg : 9/15/2017 12:22 pm : link
He constantly makes move that make no sense and ends up killing the cap.
Peterson chased the money...
BamaBlue : 9/15/2017 12:26 pm : link
not the ring. He was signed to create some excitement with the Saints on the decline. Yeah... something is brewing in the bayou and it ain't gumbo.
I wonder if the franchise is done
UConn4523 : 9/15/2017 12:37 pm : link
Brees will walk with his non-franchise clause and if Denver doesn't improve I can see him going there for a year or two despite the investment in Lynch. If that happens does Payton want out too?
.
arcarsenal : 9/15/2017 12:48 pm : link
They are utterly incapable of fielding a defense there. Until they do, things aren't going to get any better. It has been like 4-5 years since they've had a decent defense. It has been embarrassingly bad since.
...
Toth029 : 9/15/2017 1:10 pm : link
Their offense was dog shit on MNF too. Let's not just act like their defense was bad. Payton also has no idea what to do with these three backs. Peterson is equally an idiot for signing there.
I wondered if he signed with the Saints to play the Vikes opening
GiantBlue : 9/15/2017 1:15 pm : link
night and now is wondering how to get to a team that plays them again......LOL...

But you have to wonder if his dissatisfaction was more that the Vikings were the opponent.

If he had only 8 carries vs. a Jacksonville or Tampa team on a Sunday at 1, would have had the same reaction?
I found it completely strange
UConn4523 : 9/15/2017 1:16 pm : link
that Brees didn't throw once inside the 10 on atleast one of the drives I watch. When's the last time that happened? They just kept getting stonewalled since their run blocking sucks.

Ingram ran for 5.0 last year. They just didn't have a gameplan to run consistently.

And I do recall them bringing in Peterson on a GL play, and the pay was a PA out where Peterson runs to the flat and that was Brees first look. That's on Sean.
Ingram is better than Peterson at this point
UConn4523 : 9/15/2017 1:40 pm : link
in their careers. Maybe not in overall skill but APs lack of pass catchibg makes him one dimensional where you have to account for the pass with Ingram but he can also run between the tackles.

Maybe he could have signed with the Packers who are using a WR at RB?

So do Flacco, Bortles, Rodgers, Wentz, and Cousins. Eli, Palmer and Stafford were all north of 590 in 2016. Rivers, Winston, Dalton, Carr and Bradford round out the QBs that finished above 550.

That's almost half the league.
Might as well trade
John K : 9/15/2017 4:14 pm : link
AP to the Giants and end his career for good!

He looks pretty healthy to me. I wasn't completely on board with signing this guy as a FA but I wouldn't mind trading something insignificant for him. He might be a spark here.
fill seats, sell jerseys, help a future MVP

sometimes things are done for the league. A Peterson is not a fit here, as our offensive line could not whip a premier college team.
Didn't he know what
SFGFNCGiantsFan : 9/15/2017 5:18 pm : link
he was getting himself into down in NOLA?

Pretty sure he knows what he got himself into every other Thursday.

He wasn't exactly fighting off the offers.

Right. We should just use the crappiest rbs on earth since it doesn't matter anyway...

Good rbs help bad offenses no matter what.

Mr. Nickels : 9/15/2017 9:40 pm : link
Peterson told reporters that he "didn't sign up for nine snaps," ESPN 1500 Twin Cities reports.
Spin: Peterson did at least carry the ball on six of his nine snaps, picking up 18 yards in his return to Minnesota. His small workload partially was a result of the Saints playing from behind, but it also illustrates the reality that he'll be competing with Mark Ingram (26 snaps) and Alvin Kamara (31) for playing time all season.
Yeah and your son didn't sign up
UConn4523 : 9/15/2017 10:50 pm : link
to get his ass beat by his father. Fuck off Peterson.

From 2011-16 regarding passes thrown by Brees:
657, 670, 650, 659, 627, and 673.

Try doing a little homework, I just used the '600' figure
to point out, Peterson picked the wrong team to play for!
Peterson should have done his homework...
BamaBlue : 9/17/2017 4:42 pm : link
Non pass catching, aging running back signs with the ultimate west coast offense and complains about touches? He wants a payday and the Saints to remold their offense... Not in this lifetime.
