I just got done watching the Lions/Cardinals tape....
Their OL needs to be exposed big time. If the NYG is as good as they, and I, make it out to be, they need to put these guys on their heels and get to Stafford. Greg Robinson at LT? Vernon needs to prove his worth against a guy that wasn't good enough to stay on the Rams, arguably the worst OL franchise in recent years. Damon Harrison against the likes of Graham Glasgow and Travis Swanson? Those guys are good athletes but they shouldn't hold ground against him even when double teaming.
Rocky Wagner against Pierre-Paul? If JPP wants to prove he is on another level, this is the night to do it. The "almost got there" and "disruptive" descriptions need to end. This front needs to put Stafford, a guy that will hold on to the ball too long, on his back early and often. We need the old school 6+ sack performance out of this defense, not pressures and QB hits.
Tell the 2 stud des to go get the qb - that is what we broke the bank for
Take me back to that game against Philly a few years ago please..
Come on DL!
lol
Spags was very limited in what he could call because he had to play careful not blitz and give up easy scores as the Offense couldn't score
holding Dallas to 19, only 3 in 2nd half was an amazing job
but, unfortunately what's going against then is getting gassed by second half if not sooner on account of this offense.
OV got the team's only sack.
JPP needs to get home more often. Don't get me wrong, pressures are nice. But he has to get more sacks. You can pressure a mobile QB, but a mobile QB can escape a pressure, like we saw Dak do a couple times last week. Sacks you can't escape from and they keep the offense in 2nd and long and 3rd long. We need sacks.
Hopefully we score more than FG's... And hopefully the D holds the Lions to very little. We had a good showing against them last time, which somewhat surprised me, so we'll see.
I think we matchup well with their O.
Dallas had at least one first down on every drive and entered Giants territory on every drive.
Hardly elite.
Only would end up with a tie...

would help our chances.

C'mon Jimmy, you know we're good for at least a field goal
But they were not dominant. Dallas moved the ball. Dark had all day to throw and they definitely missed Hankins against the run

I don't think it's realistic to expect any defense to just stop a team from moving the ball, much less a playoff-level team that was legitimately a top-3 rushing offense. Not the place to look for "dominance". They held to 16 points most of the game. That's exceptional work and should have been rewarded with a win of they had even a competent offense.

Especially considering how much they were on the field.

An elite defense should get at least ONE 3-and-out to help flip the field. Sunday night looked like a very talented Rod Rust unit.
Detroit is a formidable competitor, so it will be a tight game.
