Don't be surprised to see Odell Beckham play Monday night. Everything seems to be trending in that direction barring a setback, per source. Link - ( New Window )
from a W-L perspective but I'm fine with it from an overall perspective. Get healthy.
Without him we will find out about our sub's and this offensive, WCO-type scheme of MCs.
Given our OL this may be a tough season anyway, no sense destroying our star WR.
RE: Collinsworth said on the broadcast that he was surprised that OBJ
could miss week one shortly after the initial hit. He was proven right about that so I will give him the benefit here.
he got shit because he weote it so vague that he couldnt be wrong
Bullshit. People roasted him on here for no reason and he was proven right. I never saw any apology threads or people admitting they were wrong for roasting him.
People hate the media around here until they're angry enough
way too far. Players play less than 100% the majority of the season. We throw out these percentages that we are comfortable with and it's all BS. If he can cut on the ankle, be relatively pain free and is cleared by doctors, why wouldn't we want him out there?
Because it was complete speculation. When you throw out words like 'could' and 'possibly', you're hedging your bets. They turned out to be right re. Week 1.

I think people are knowledgeable enough that they understand that "100%" is a figure of speech. Not being sarcastic here.
Nobody is playing at 100% in the NFL after week 1. Playing an NFL season is like being involved in a car accident every week for 4 months. In NFL terms, "100%" means "healthy enough to play without risk of re-injury".

I get that, it just makes me laugh when I see "if he's at 80% then just sit out". Arbitrary numbers about medical conditions and symptoms that are unknown to anyone but the player, the medical staff and the coaches.
If he can go he should play. That's generally what happens in sports.
RE: RE: Collinsworth said on the broadcast that he was surprised that OBJ
We also reminded that we can't score without him ok I am exaggerating . If he happens to miss a 2nd game and the offense fails to score TD's again then this offense is severely flawed be it the concept play calls what have you .
If he does play I can't imagine he is 100% so how effective will he be myself I would rather sit him and make sure he is
100% no matter what the media speculates .
That we saw last week needs more than Beckham to be competitive
He s help but other guys, including the staff needs to step up.
One thing with beckham on the field defense has to guesz more because you can move him all over the field, it forces the defense to roll coverages and open up the field a little bit more...
dallas basically played zone the entire game and didnt have to worry about really anyone...
On one end, we have the Giant management needing OBj to get out there as soon as possible, or this season could be over before it's even started.....on the other end, you have OBj looking at this from his own personal perspective.....he wants a new contract/extension.....he knows he won't get it if he is damaged goods.....for him, it could be Steve Smith all over again.....he would be crazy to risk injury, by coming back too soon.....
So the Giants have another Cruz situation.....he will be ready next week....next week comes, and he will be ready next week......and so on, and so on....
So what do the Giant's do? They would be crazy, to give OBj a big contract in hopes of getting him out there sooner, because OBj would have that guaranteed money in his back pocket, to cover the risk of further injury......and the Giants could be throwing Cap money out the window, if they force him to come back too early with a contract, and he becomes injured again.....
This season could become a sacrificial lamb for the future of this team.....can the Giants really afford OBj?
Do the Giants have a plan for this franchise in the future? They obviously didn't after 2011....some tough decisions have to be made....sign OBj to a big contract, franchise him(which will not make for a happy OBj), or trade him....it's a tough decision....
I don't think the Giants can beat Detroit, without a healthy OBj.....0-2 into Philly and he might still not be ready(wink, wink)....a season that had a lot of promise, could be all over......
This team's strength, is it's starters....we can't afford injuries......Unless Marshall and Eli become joined at the hip in this next game, without OBj, this season will take a nosedive....
Yes, I know most will say it's Doom being Doom.....I had high hopes for this team......I thought this OL would be better.....I thought the new weapons could make up for no OBj.....but that first game, reminded me Of the Minny game without OBj.....this offense is so one dimensional....you have to have Eli and OBj playing at their peak to win.....lose either one, or have either one play poorly, and this offense is a shambles.....the defense can only do so much.....Losing OBj for any extended period of time, is the same as losing Eli.....you need both playing at the top of their game, for this offense to succeed....
So unless we have a miracle, and OBj not only walks onto that field, and plays like only OBj can, it looks like another one of those anticipated seasons may be down the drain.....
People roasted him on here for no reason and he was proven right. I never saw any apology threads or people admitting they were wrong for roasting him.
This is wrong on many levels. There was very good reason to complain about the story. It was poorly written and poorly substantiated. No apology threads are needed. What is needed is better reporting.
I would be surprised to see Beckham on the field before game 5!
Look at the history of the Giants wr's/TE's who have leg injuries, Steve Smith, Hakeem Nicks, Victor Cruz, Jake Ballard, they never seem to be the same.

what are you talking about?
nicks destoryed his feet..
victor cruz had a torn patella tendon
jake ballard tore every ligament in his knee..
steve smith had microfracture surgery...
how are any of these equal to beckham? plus beckham is already back on the practice field
this is how i feel and like you i thought there was no chance he didnt play last week...
I think he'll be out there but I'm not sure how effective he will be.
he got shit because he weote it so vague that he couldnt be wrong
Fwiw
If he is INJURED he needs to stay out until he is no longer injured.
If he is HURT then he should be suiting up, but then again we are dealing with O- Business Decision Beckham after all.
Fwiw
i never understood this, how can a doctor who has never seen the player make a diagnosis?

We're just as sick of your ridiculous take on the situation, too.. trust me.
O=Business Decision Beckham?
Brutal.

Injury doc says he thinks obj shouldn't play. He'll only be 70% and could re-injure and set himself back a few weeks.

It's the new trend - the Twitter Doctor started it. Apparently you can make accurate diagnosis' through a TV screen these days.

Great post, I feel better about myself after reading that.
Arc, I was hoping we'd keep him out until the Cards game on Christmas Eve. Odell returns...am early Christmas present.

Having him as a decoy would have been good for about 6 plays. Cowboys would have figured it out quickly.
It's like when Gronk tried to play in Super Bowl 46. They just put Blackburn on him
Every one I've had took a couple weeks before being able to run straight on it, and a few more weeks to be able bare weight to shift directions.
Don't have to be a doctor to know he still needs some more time before he's back to 100%. He probably should take at least another week off.

I say rest him for another month. He needs to be 100%.

Even better.

That's dumb. Of course he wouldn't have declared definitively that Beckham would miss week one two weeks in advance for an ankle sprain.

so would he have been wrong if beckham played?
I think people are knowledgeable enough that they understand that "100%" is a figure of speech. Not being sarcastic here.

We might have done something in those first 6 plays.
Jus' sayin'.

Tell us again about the midwest club scene, tool.

Didn't stop him from clickbait hack journalism. Just like when he supposedly saw Shepard crying from a full field away.
Raanan is a hack. I wouldn't trust good news from any more than I dismiss bad news from him.
He has solid access
Not solid enough to see Shepard cry.
He's a run of the mill beat guy who acts like he's got some sort of special access behind the curtain.
One day you wake up and it feels good
That's it
There is really no predicting exactly when that one day is.
He has solid access
That means a lot coming from hitdog, who in my assessment gets the most accurate inside info on this site. Appreciate the kind words.
