Complete 180 from the first game against Maryland.
Like I was saying, they've been looking for the answer since Colt Mccoy and haven't come close. Garrett Gilbert, David Ash, Swoopes, Heard, etc. They're all supposed to be the next big thing, but fail every time.
Ehlinger is no Vince Young I guess...
Give it your backs, man...
He's a freshman. Relax tuff guy.
I love how everyone says relax he’s freshman. And Patience, now with Texas. No one wanted to say be Patient when Strong was playing all these guys you see out there now as true freshman. Herman gets to benefit from Charlie taking all the lumps of playing these guys early. Evey guy on that team right now basically played a ton as true freshman. But no one wanted to hear Patience then.

The majority of Texas fans were willing to give Strong more time, he got a lot of patience from the fan base. I was 100% against letting him go and bringing in Hermann. The decision was made by the administration and insiders (like long time donors). Also Strong's undoing in the end wasn't the offense, it was the terrible play of the defense. The offense looked better under Strong still, however the defense was very poor for whatever reason. I am not a Hermann fan, but the D in the last two games has been years ahead of the Strong D for whatever reason. The guy, or his staff, has coached them up.
What got Strong fired wasn't patience from the fan base, it was some rift with the administration, the lousy D (which is loaded with top prospects and as you can see was underperforming), and a few horrible losses led by the one to Kansas (which really was not excusable).
I thought they were both plenty impressive. Sometimes these guys get held to such high standards, if they are not perfect, people like to knock them down a few notches. Say what you want about Rosen, but he's literally putting that team on his back. He's got no running game, a horrible offensive line, and a defense that is giving up points in bunches.
And Darnold, I don't see how you can even criticize him.
But again. Strong was playing them as true freshman. They're going to struggle in a pass happy power conference.
Don't get me wrong, I liked Strong and wanted him to get another year. I hope he does really well in SoFL. I was just trying to shed some light on what happened, and also that most of the fan base wanted him back. Even Matthew McConnaughy came out in support. I especially like how he cleaned up the program and made the players accountable for classes, their actions, etc.
I liked Strong as well, and I was pulling for him to stay on board, Â
but after the Kansas game, that was going to be a tough sell. And like others have mentioned, the defense just wasn't up to par. Sometimes that happens, but game after game, there were so many missed tackles, that it became hard to overlook.
Technically it's a Hail Mary but he hit him in stride. That was a 65 yard throw, that was on the money.

The Hail Mary is the throw.
I think this LSU/MSU game will be good too.
I'll be in Baton Rouge next week for the Cuse/LSU game.
(actually no chance, but...)
Darnold looks pretty unimpressive. Too bad texas has zero offense. Their defense is killing it.
Still is going to do some college basketball and the masters I believe
And that's coming from a Texas fan.
We have not had an even semi-competent QB since colt Mccoy. Amazing
And buechele is not the answer. Dudes never thrown a pass over the middle in his life.

Lol Hump thats what I'm thinking. Man that is one of the better drives you'll see. Great job by the kid and his recievers
Darnold
This game is crazy.
Give it your backs, man...
Hilarious how they're calling this revenge for 2005.
Give it your backs, man...
He's a freshman. Relax tuff guy.
It was shot against Tim Beck. You relax, goober.
First half usc:
Timeout 1: Before 4th and goal on their 2nd series
Timeout 2: To prevent delay of game before punt on their 5th series
Timeout 3: To stop the clock before Texas' punt before the pick 6
Timeout 4: To stop the clock before the hail mary
It was shot against Tim Beck. You relax, goober.
Maybe fix your writing if you're going to make a point, goober.
Absolutely incomprehensible. Goober.
