So what's the consensus here tonight folks? Are you paying for the big Canelo/GGG fight? Or are you sticking with the free UFC event on FS1?
Not to mention college football going on right now.
But late-night - what are you watching BBI?
Is the boxing match worth the money?
The whole thing is a shame bc that was an incredible fight, both men put on a show. And in memory it'll play second fiddle to wondering what in the *fuck* Adelaide Byrd was watching

Atlas is a nutcase but he loves the sport. He's as close to a real boxing fan on tv as we can find.

Pacing around, shouting, even jumping up and down on one occasion.

Yeah, I knew he'd be going crazy. I appreciate his candor, especially in light of Kellerman all but ignoring the elephant in the room. And I like Kellerman.
She has botched a couple other high-profile fights. When your record is that poor and you keep getting gigs as a judge, you know boxing still has massive problems.
So even the most favorable judge last night still tried every way possible to give canelo rounds.

Her incompetence extends to MMA. A college classmate is an MMA writer and he was like "Oh, I know Byrd."
The silver lining for GGG is he gets another big payday before retiring. But sucks for him that Canelo ducked him for a couple years until he was past his prime and then still got a favorable decision.
8-4 GGG my score
I hate the biased commentary from HBO that skews what is taking place in the ring--and affecrs viewers, whether they believe it or not. The 118-110 card was egrigious but this was a fight that could have gone either way.
Canelo won 11? Really? I'll give him 12
And he clearly won the first 3? Because max said so or he really did? Ggg won the first round- canelo the 2nd
I can almost see arguing for a draw, but I don't see how you argue for an Alvarez decision. He was pushed around the ring from the 3rd round on. He had some late flurries in 10-12 but he was gassed a minute into each round and did very little thereafter.

I said two of the first three. And yeah, I gave Canelo 10-12. There were a lot of close rounds and I'm sorry but if Canelo was getting "smoked," he wouldn't have been standing. He landed more power punches than GGG so how was he getting smoked? You judge a fight on clean punching, defense, ring generalship and effective aggression. Not hyperbole. Canelo landed more power punches, exhibited better defense. A draw or win for him isn't something crazy.

I had it scored the same but GGG easily won Rounds 4-9 and controlled Rd 1 with the jab. 7-5 for GGG, possibly 8-4 if you give GGG Rd 10, which I had as a close Canelo round
"I'm not going to put her right back in. She'll still be in the business, but she needs to catch her breath.
"Like in any profession, you have a bad night. Unfortunately, she didn't do well. I can tell you she conducts training for us, takes judges under her wing, but her score was too wide."
