Mercedes Benz Stadium.

Tim in Eternal Blue : 9/17/2017 10:11 pm
Well... That stadium is the coolest stadium I've ever seen. 1.6 Billion.
Also really like US Bank stadium. 1.2 billion. Gorgeous.

Metlife Stadium: 1.6 billion. 1.6 billion for the most boring, uninspiring design of any "new" stadium I've seen. When I say new... I mean from like 2002. Sad really.
New York vs.Atlanta market

But the $1.6 bill for the Meadowlands
section125 : 9/17/2017 10:21 pm : link
includes the Xanadu complex, doesn't it?

No comparison - Atlanta's stadium is beautiful. Love the food pricing. Have to give Arthur Blank credit.
No defense.....ticket holders got screwed with MetLife

No one improved their viewpoint....more concessions.

Club areas are nice

That Falcons stadium here
JoeyBigBlue : 9/17/2017 10:43 pm : link
Would cost upwards of 4.5 billion dollars. The construction cost here are insane.
Giants stadium is horrible
GMEN46 : 9/17/2017 10:50 pm : link
It's crazy to. Me that 2 teams in New York/nj share a stadium and it's one of the 10 worst in the nfl
Wasn't the price of steel
Sarcastic Sam : 9/17/2017 10:52 pm : link
at a alltime high when they were building New Meadowlands Stadium? I think that probably also factored into the cost.

Plus they had to find a place for Jimmy Hoffa. No easy task.
MetLife is the worst

I'll probly never go again
MetLife is garbage
Route 9 : 9/17/2017 11:02 pm : link
But I'm fine with staying inside NJ for going to games
It's a piece of shit,
Default : 9/17/2017 11:07 pm : link
and the worst part is they could have found a way to make the New York Giants actually play in New York but opted to stay in fucking Jersey.

+1 I love the location also. So easy. Just a disappointing building..honestly the old one is better. Literally the only thing decent about MetLife is the 4 Giant screens but even they are almost dated by now.

Sad.
If I'm not mistaken

the original stadium designs, before the Jets were involved had a price tag of about $800M and was a much nicer design.

No, Xanadu has nothing to do with the 1.6 billion price tag.

That price tag is just for the stadium itself

I've been to the new atl stadium (for the Tennessee GT College game) and it's freakin gorgeous. The halo board design is the smartest thing I've ever seen and should be a new standard for all stadiums going forward. The concession prices are obviously awesome, and the concourses are big and spacious. The pavilion outside the stadium is also awesome, and again - tons of room.

I'll keep going to MetLife cause it's not bad, but it's getting really old with all the new facilities that are getting built.
That roof is something else

Still like Minnesotas stadium more, that place just looks unbelievable, but this is definitely a close second.
It's a stadium by committee
BillT : 9/18/2017 6:59 am : link
They should have gone small like Mara wanted or completely over the top. Instead they got some king of uninspiring middle ground.
So glad I gave up my tix
Sec 103 : 9/18/2017 7:07 am : link
because from the two times I have been there, it just plain sucks. The old stadium was not only better, it housed some great fans, well at least in Sec 103...
I think smaller stadiums
SFGFNCGiantsFan : 9/18/2017 7:34 am : link
are the wave of the future, as less people attend games & opt to watch at home/bar/etc.
My NY Giants seats are friggin' awesome
Jimmy Googs : 9/18/2017 7:54 am : link
60 inch tv with free Sunday ticket. Comfortable couch with stocked bar right behind me and loaded fridge in the next room. Parking extremely close and the only obnoxious loud fan around is me.

With a little DVR watching delay, the whole process takes about 2+ hours.

The only downside is I see our Oline up closer than I really want...

Funny how the NFL came up with this very same concept. And thought they could charge fans thousands of dollars per game for this experience. They are called suites lol. Irony...
When
YANKEE28 : 9/18/2017 8:56 am : link
you talk about the cost of Met Life, don't ever forget to include the loan that the NJ taxpayers paid off for the Giants and Jets owners.

A few years prior to the decision to build a new stadium, some significant upgrades were made to the old stadium-especially in the suite areas.

The upgrades were only in place a few years. When the old stadium was knocked down, it had $123 million outstanding in loans from those upgrades.

The NJ politicians were kind enough to let the NJ taxpayers pay off that $123 million.

And the NJ politicians also agreed that the NJ taxpayers would pay for massive road upgrades to improve traffic, especially on Rt 3 and other arteries into the stadium.
