Had a good day yesterday in my money league. BBI league not so much.

I'll start off by saying I was wrong on AP. I still think he can be a good RB, just not on the Saints. I really hope he's traded at some point.

TEs took a hit yesterday with the top 2 going down with injuries(Gronk and Olsen).
I was in a nailbiter until Rodgers hit Bennett for that 20 yard

pass at the end of last night's Atl-GB game...Pushed me over my opponent 154.13 to 153.86.

I heard him scream "NOOOOOOOOOO" all the way from my home!! LOL......

He was hurt by Zeke's bad game and Cobb getting hurt early.

1-1 ready for week 3.

I played against Crabtree in two leagues, the two I care about.

I'm like a magnet for players who go off (including defenses).

Probably pull out a win in one, but not counting my chickens.

I'm up 9 points and my opponent has Prater, I have Rosas and NYG Defense. I can see a 4 FG night by Prater sending me to the L. Hope I'm wrong.

That's always the worst. I always say fantasy football always comes down to who you play and when you play them.

Too many times I have weeks were I do well and but my opponent goes off. Meanwhile I would have beat more than half the teams in the league.
I have Crabtree.
Keith : 9/18/2017 10:43 am : link
He's 1A in that offense. He's really turned into a very good WR. That whole offense is really fun to watch. It starts with the OL which is probably the best OL in football. Lynch is an absolute beast and a blast to watch. They had a scat back come in late and he looked amazing. Then you have Crabtree and Cooper who are as good as any WR pair in the NFL. Special offense in Oakland.

Bush league or strategic to sit the Giants defense tonight? Up by 4 and my opponent has nobody else going. Our league is based on wins first for playoffs with total PF as first tiebreaker.

I have never understood why that would be considered bush league. I think you can make an argument that the potential points are more important than the risk of -4 pts from the defense, but I def don't think there is anything bush league about benching your defense and locking in the win. I'd also make sure to look into your leagues rules and make sure there isn't a rule that you need to have yoru whole roster play. Some leagues have that rule for this reason.
not bush league
giants#1 : 9/18/2017 11:06 am : link
-4 for a D is pretty hard to get in most leagues though (yours may be different).

My leagues all have cash awards for most points during the 'regular' season and weekly high scores making this a much more difficult situation.

Woooooooo.

Anyway, is it me or is this a really dumb trade?

Team A trades:

Jay Ajayi
Pierre Garcon

Team B trades:

DeAndre Hopkins
Andre Ellington

Veto-worthy? They're not colluding - team A is just really fucking stupid.
Def not veto worthy,
Keith : 9/18/2017 11:08 am : link
but a really bad trade for the guy giving up Ajayi.
Regarding Adrian Peterson,
Mr. Bungle : 9/18/2017 11:10 am : link
he was really bad before he got hurt last season. (I had him. He was awful.) It was a combination of the Vikings' terrible run-blocking and Peterson's inability to make something happen.

Now he's a year older and has returned from another major injury.

He sat around in free agency waiting to get an opportunity. And he had to settle for a timeshare role in a pass-first offense.

I would be surprised if a team traded for him now. They had their shot at him in the spring. And they passed. And he's certainly not making any of those teams regret it right now.
AP also had garbage at QB
giants#1 : 9/18/2017 11:18 am : link
last season in the 2.5 games he played which included Bradford's 1st start after being on the Vikes for merely ~2 weeks.

I still think he'd be a good player on the right team. OAK was ideal before signing Lynch. Strong OL and a desire to run the ball 20-25+ times/game.

If Zeke does get suspended, AP would be a fit there and would likely get 5+ ypc behind that OL. But while he'd be better than any RB on the Giants, I don't think he's a great fit due to his lack of versatility. He's a much better RB with a lead FB or out of the single back and his effectiveness as a runner drops significantly when he runs out of shotgun.
should add
giants#1 : 9/18/2017 11:21 am : link
the Saints made no sense for AP with Ingram already on the roster and even less sense with the addition of Kamara.

My team is just terrible in every facet in that league and post draft I was expected to come in 3rd by Yahoo.

I can't even really fix it. Jordan Howard, Jordy Nelson, Russel Wilson, plenty of blame to go around on that team.

Your 0 - 13 hall of shame record could be in jeopardy.

I have the Jordan Howard/Russell Wilson combo in a couple of leagues. I picked up Wentz in a couple last week, and I think I am going to begin to start him. The good news is that in most leagues, there are intriguing QBs that are still available. Names that aren't traditional strong QB names, but guys that I think can help. I'm not going to play Wentz next week because they are playing the Giants, and I'm a believer in Giants DEF of course.

But see if you can pry away Andrew Luck. Value is low right now. And I don't think he's going to be out much longer. Remember, the Colts could've just put him on PUP but they didn't. They must believe he'd be ready prior to week 7. I think he misses week 3 but starts week 4. That is my guess.

Otherwise, see if Wentz is available. You can also pick up Alex Smith in a lot of leagues. And while that might sound horrible, he's the 3rd highest fantasy scoring QB through two weeks. Now, that's a little misleading because Jameis Winston, Jay Cutler, Eli Manning, and Matt Stafford have all only played one game so far, but it's still noteworthy. And the #1 fantasy QB thus far? Trevor Semian. I'd prefer Wentz or Smith at this point, but if they aren't available, I'd start Siemian as a matchup-based play right now. He's hot, and if you watched him yesterday, he is making some really nice throws. Another guy you should consider to pick up in deep leagues is DeShaun Watson if he is available. He will continue to rack up rushing yards and if you remember the fantasy superstardom of Michael Vick in his heyday, then I will say that Watson is the closest thing I think we've had since Vick. I think his best play is in front of him, and he'll get more comfortable.

Wilson's situation is bad right now because his OL is awful and isn't likely to improve. Like worse than the Giants awful. I still believe in Wilson because he's the kind of player that rises up in adversity, but I don't think he's a guy for the time being I feel really comfortable putting in as my starter for my fantasy teams.

The team getting Kupp and Henry. Walker is good, but his value I believe is at a high point, and the team selling Henry is selling at a low point. I think Henry's longer term outlook is pretty good. And especially if you are in PPR, Kupp has some good games ahead as well.

Tate over Shep is probably a no brainer but if OBJ plays Eli might be the better play.

I have David Johnson, Allen Robinson, CJ Federowicz and Tyler Eifert (not season ending, but looks like he'll be out this week). Two weeks in and I'm in scramble mode to replace 1/3rd of my starting lineup. Going into this season I had debated cutting ties with Fantasy Football all together, because of the unpredictability. This season may push me completely in that direction.

Another shocker....add Eifert to the list...
Keith : 9/18/2017 2:13 pm : link

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Tyler Eifert is dealing with back and knee injuries which have put his Week 3 status in doubt.

Even through his dreadful start, Eifert owners could at least take solace in the oft-injured tight end's health, but that is no longer the case. Going up against a Packers defense which has shut down Jimmy Graham and Austin Hooper to open the season, Eifert will just be a touchdown dart throw even if he is active this week.

I am going to go with Shephard just becausr I think he has a better shot to get 5 or 6 catches for 50 to 60 yards. Engram is more dynamic and has a better shot at scoring a long TD. But even if ODell dresses, I'm gonna go with Shephard.
I've got a Giants' fan conundrum
MadPlaid : 9/18/2017 2:39 pm : link
I'm winning by a little less than 12 points in my FF league. I have an IDP left to play, either Landon Collins or B.J. Goodman. My opponent has OBJ. I'm confident that considering the circumstances, I should hold on and win.

The conundrum is: here I am a Giants fan routing for my team's best player to either not play or if he does play, not play very well. This is where fantasy football can suck. How do you like them apples?

If it's PPR, you should win going away only needing 16 with both those guys left.
Play Eli
allstarjim : 9/18/2017 2:58 pm : link
In 3 matchups against the Giants, Stafford has thrown only 2 TDs against 3 INTs. He has a 1-2 career record against the Giants, with the only win in Detroit. Last year @ Giants, the Stafford and the Lions managed 6 points. Stafford threw for 273 yards, with 0 TDs and 1 INT. Last year outdoors, in 3 games he threw 3 TDs against 4 INTs, and lost all 3 games. For his career outdoors, Stafford is 14-23, a 59% passer, 59 TDs against 38 INTs, for 9,976 yards in 37 games. So you're looking at a 1.6/1 TD to INT ratio in outdoor games, and an average of 269 yards passing, most of which was with one of the greatest receivers of all-time, who is no longer playing.

Golden Tate, on the other hand, caught 8 balls for 122, buoyed by a 67 yard completion in last year's game.

Eli against the Lions last year: 20-28, 201, 2 TDs - 0 INTs.

These are mostly the same two teams this year. The safer play is, unbelievably, is playing Eli and Tate. I feel like that's hedging a bit. So if you really want to go for it, I'd go Eli and Shepard, and hope for a big night with that connection. If you need a lot of points to win, that's how I'd play it.
