Duggan: rookie Calvin Munson expected to start at MLB

The Giants are expected to start undrafted rookie Calvin Munson at middle linebacker in Monday night's game against the Lions, according to a person familiar with the situation. Munson will be taking the place of Goodson, who had 18 tackles in his first career start in the Giants' 19-3 loss to the Cowboys last week.

The Giants also will promote linebacker Curtis Grant from the practice squad, a person with knowledge of the situation confirmed. Grant's promotion was first reported by ESPN. There is no word yet on a corresponding move to open a roster spot for Grant.

Remember... Munson looked good against the run but struggled in coverage on that long TD pass to the back out of the backfield in the preseason. The Lions love to throw to their backs.

I do not remember Goodson being hurt during the game.

Lions aren't a run heavy team, I'd expect us in Nickel a lot.

Against Dallas for example, this would be a much bigger issue
