NFT: Yankees vs Twins

section125 : 9/18/2017 7:09 pm
Santana vs Garcia.

I know 98% will drift to the Giants v Lions game, as will I. But WTF, the Yanks need support. Need to win this series if not sweep. Santana is having a good year, but IIRC the Yanks play well against him.

So let's do it! (with respect to Michael Kay)

Judge leads the AL in HRs, BBs, and Runs Scored.

The only 5 AL players to ever do that:

- Mickey Mantle

It hasn't been done since Mickey in 1958.

That's pretty good company.

What was borderline? It was a just above the belly button, middle of the plate change up that froze him.

Meanwhile, Jaime looking solid. Let's get this guy some help.

Take the ball the other way. 75 feet of open base and he is trying to pull sliders away. Awful at bats.

between our pitchers throwing the ball all over the place and Sanchez being slow/lazy/tired of reaching for shit - it's really not good for the heart.

Betances with another turd.
Great job, Betances.

That wasn't Sanchez fault.101 mph 58 feet 2 feet outside?

This will be fun.

Why wasn't Green ready?

Well 7 RISP fail tonight...

Yanks were smart to not offer him the big money. Definitely his most disappointing year, but having no crystal ball to foresee this season's blown saves etc I wonder if the front office just didn't like his mental makeup all along.

this year. If they all get hot at the same time, look out. Or, they could all get cold at the same time, and that would be that. That's kind of how the season has gone. But no complaints - it's been entertaining.

it sure looks like whatever is left of the season will be what we have to root for for awhile. regardless of having to play the play-in game I like the place this team is in right now. We are healthy and playing the best ball we have played in months. Sure 1 game is a crap shoot but its the hand we'll be dealt.

Unfounded? No one on BBI announced that Ellsbury was going to be the 4th outfielder... that was the manager who was looking at the same thing everyone else could see. I'm happy Jacoby has turned his season around, but let's not act like the criticism was baseless.
Great save by Chapman.

Hicks and Warren are progressing. Hicks is hitting in the cage and Warren threw off flat ground. Seems like they should both make it back by the end of the regular season with no set-backs.

They have been that way for years Del. Seems since 2009 they either all hit, or none hit. This group seems to hit more often, but then has a dud or two before hitting again.
But Santana was 15-7 coming in with a 2.96 era in his last bunch of starts. So a good pitcher.
The crazy team stat with this team continues to be run differential
Stu11 : 9/19/2017 9:06 am : link
We are now 2nd in all of baseball at +175. Only the Indians are better at +222. We slipped past even the Dodgers, and have blown past the Astros and Nationals. All of those teams are 30+ games over .500, we are 16. The crazy thing is that the Nats had huge pen problems up until the deals they made at the deadline so you can't say its the pen that has dragged us down. As you guys talked about its totally the inconsistency in hitting. We really are feast or famine, and the pen has blown enough to drag us down. Oh well we can't change whats in the past. As I said before I like the place the team is in now even having to probably play the play in game. I feel that this is very similar to the Giants-Cowboys last year. We proved head to head we were at least as good as them but we just couldn't get any help from anyone beating them. Same with the Sox right now. They are literally reaching as deep into their ass as they can to pull these games out right now.
