Santana vs Garcia.
I know 98% will drift to the Giants v Lions game, as will I. But WTF, the Yanks need support. Need to win this series if not sweep. Santana is having a good year, but IIRC the Yanks play well against him.
So let's do it! (with respect to Michael Kay)
Maybe Joe lit a fire under his culo...

That was a "big fly" if there ever was one ...
The only 5 AL players to ever do that:
- Babe Ruth (7x)
- Lou Gehrig
- Hank Greenberg
- Ted Williams (4x)
- Mickey Mantle
It hasn't been done since Mickey in 1958.
It was either a ground rule double or a HR (or an out for fan interference.)

And misses out on the record books because MLB stole a legit homer from him.

For anyone who hasn't seen it:

That's pretty good company.
What was borderline? It was a just above the belly button, middle of the plate change up that froze him.
Meanwhile, Jaime looking solid. Let's get this guy some help.
Take the ball the other way. 75 feet of open base and he is trying to pull sliders away. Awful at bats.
rubbish.
Let's go Chappy
Gulp
between our pitchers throwing the ball all over the place and Sanchez being slow/lazy/tired of reaching for shit - it's really not good for the heart.
Betances with another turd.

That wasn't Sanchez fault.101 mph 58 feet 2 feet outside?
This will be fun.
Why wasn't Green ready?
Well 7 RISP fail tonight...
Yanks were smart to not offer him the big money. Definitely his most disappointing year, but having no crystal ball to foresee this season's blown saves etc I wonder if the front office just didn't like his mental makeup all along.
That was smooth.
Please get a couple of Insurance runs...
They are checking to be sure he stayed on the bag for the 10 seconds he had a glove pressed against him.
Unfounded? No one on BBI announced that Ellsbury was going to be the 4th outfielder... that was the manager who was looking at the same thing everyone else could see. I'm happy Jacoby has turned his season around, but let's not act like the criticism was baseless.
Hicks and Warren are progressing. Hicks is hitting in the cage and Warren threw off flat ground. Seems like they should both make it back by the end of the regular season with no set-backs.
They have been that way for years Del. Seems since 2009 they either all hit, or none hit. This group seems to hit more often, but then has a dud or two before hitting again.
But Santana was 15-7 coming in with a 2.96 era in his last bunch of starts. So a good pitcher.
