I think we need our CBs to be healthy. Remembering how well we played vs the Packers in the playoff game during the first half. Then, the moment DRC leaves with an injury it was like the whole dynamic on defense changed.

Yup. Especially with the kid Galloway they have now
WE have every reason to come out flying. We're on Monday night, its our first home game, we were embarrassed last week on national tv, and its a team we beat fairly recently. If we can win this game easily then I think we can just forget about Dallas last week and move forward. If we lose with all these motivational factors in our favor, then that could mean we really are in bad shape, and it could spiral on us.
The one weakness in this D, especially with injuries to Robinson and now Goodson, is the short middle. Riddick is the best receiving RB in the league. It would be unfatbomable for the Lions to exploit a Riddick bs Munson mismatch all night and the Giants will have no answers.

drc was knocked out after the 2nd play of the game
LETS GO ODELL YOU HANDSOME DEVIL!!. SCORE 3 TD"S TONIGHT

Hope I'm wrong. DET 31 NYG 16
Giants may have to give LC som more of that responsibility and let the LBers cover Ebron
is gonna be a huge issue, in my opinion. Not sure we can overcome that against this team. Especially with OBj most likely only being healthy enough to maybe decoy for a handful of plays. I'm hopeful we'll find a way to win, but just not sure who is gonna step up to make it happen?

i agree about jenkins but i think the giants and obj made it clear he wouldnt go until he felt like he could be effective. he is more than a decoy tonight
That right there is the biggest issue. Spags has historically gotten insanely conservative when he's missing DBs. He's afraid to blitz and leave backups one on one. The problem with that is the QB has all day to throw because the front four hasn't gotten a ton of pressure on their own in those games.
I'm with you. Stay aggressive and force Stafford to make quick decisions
Wondering if OBj will be limited on offense? Maybe just 3rd downs or certain situations?
oh thats brutal if true...i mean shit our starting MLB our best corner and our best player, i know injuries arent an excuse but thats ALOT of production to replace against a pretty good team
I can't believe that Mara hasn't cracked McAdoo's skull for not doing ANYTHING with this Oline. I believe playing ANY of those players from last year is a firable offense.
I actually have to say that Eli had enough time there but nobody was open. It was a coverage sack. The DE circled all the way around and game at Eli from behind.
I wish someone would at least give me a decent explanation for how McAdoo could come out with such an inept game plan game in and game out.
Wouldn't the average person, even without NFL head coaching experience, look at the results of the last 18 games and say, hey, maybe something should change...?
surprise. They've been attacking Apple all night. Apple was totally confused about the location of the ball. He didn't realize the ball was deliberately underthrown. The Cowboys attacked Apple as well.
is not a first round bust. I think he has potential but maybe he just needs more experience.
I did not like what I was seeing from him last year. Using his hands more than his feet. He definitely is not playing like a first rounder so far in his career. He sucked last week too.
Was Marvin Jones open on that play?
You get Brandon Marshall to go with Beckham and Sheppard and the new TE, but unless they are wide open, Manning won't pull the trigger.
He just never turned for the ball and then turned the wrong way. If he played that correctly once the ball was in the air, it could have been an INT. Instead, TD.
been so disappointed in a Giants team so early in the season. I actually thought we were a super bowl contender. Now, It's scary to think how bad we might actually be.
and we're staring at possibly an 0-4 start considering the games we have coming up and on the road! Offense needs to get its head out of its ass now and the Defense needs to get more pressure on Stafford.
Why do they play him he isn't very good at all. I prefer Darkwa. I think he is the only actual RB we have. Vareen is great out of the backfield but thats it.

hart injury a blessing...at least now just jerry will get dominated and eli wont see much pressure off edge unless flowers starts shitting the bed again. so far so good....hope we get 7 i think it would do wonders for the defense to see the offense can score tonight
OL is better because Pugh has quicker feet, which are more important at tackle. Hart's ankle injury made him slow. Interesting that it was Jones not Fluker to play LG.
Years after 1979. Those who went through '50s and then the long horrid mid late 60s to 1980s are more patient. Although 'o' line is horrid let's have some faith and love for blue. Giants will break your heart sooner or later, but every now and then...., well we'll see.
dont they mark the penalty off BEFORE he kicks off? like doesnt he kick further back? why after kick?
I think the spot for KO out of bounds is 25 yards from the kickoff spot.
what i am saying is engram penalty...the giants should kick further back...if they kick it OB its just at 40 because they already assessed penalty....im a little confused about it

no i know that but im saying why did they walk off engrams penalty AFTER the kickoff?
On the wrong spot after the kick out of bounds. Should have been 30 yards from the spot of the kick, which would have been the 50 yard line not the Giants 45.
yeah.. WR running one way and the ball going in a different direction while reaching back.
Put the crack pipe down Will. IF OBJ makes that catch you would be seeing it all over ESPN all week like it was fucking incredible yet you want the kid to make it a routine catch.
Not that good anymore. Thompson is playing like a rookie, which he practically is. Eli Apple is struggling. We have UDFA at middle linebacker. As much as he was whipping boy this off season Hankins is missed. He did the dirty work that goes unnoticed and now we are seeing what we are missing.
Manning could have made the routine play which is lead the tight end, or the tight end could have made the ridiculously good play and get two hands behind himself while running full speed.
That pass wasn't that bad, it looked like Engram was trying to catch it with 1 hand instead of turning his body
Not to sound like an Eli apologist but have to agree. If you look at the replay more than once, Engram could have attempted to put a second hand out but clearly chose to one hand it. Guess he's been watching too much OBJ in practice and warm up's. Sure, the pass should have been better but it Engram could have helped him out.

ah thats bs....i agree apple is struggling but the defense is missing their best two LBers including their MIKE and their best corner...its alot to replace
man Gruden might be the most insufferable announcer since George Foreman on HBO boxing all those years ago. He just cheerleads and when he does criticize it's moronic like blaming Thompson on that TD.
Understand that there are no great OL's in the NFL, perhaps Dallas, QB's absolutely must be mobile in this league, Manning has no athleticism and his accuracy continues to be garbage.

Tell me the last mobile QB to win a SB? Out of the last 17 SB's 3 were won by Mobile QB's
struggling with protection is to find a running game. With Darkwa it appears we have some running game, and McAdoo doesn't even give him 2 carries in a row to establish it. That's shitty coaching
what is really disappointing me is that when Eli DOES get the time to throw, he is falling short too often. He is not pulling his weight in the offense when it is his time to make a play.
Qb holds the ball for an hour on first down
Coach calls a deep drop pass on 2nd and 20 when it's a guarantee the stud pass rushers will be bull rushing and offer no help
Great great job
Yeah, Odell caught a ball!!! He looked awesome!!! He tried to
Why not feed darkwa twice in a row after a big game? Same thing last week. Why get away from the quick passing game after it worked pat drive? Damn mcadoo
Razor, you need to change your trolling pattern. This is the 4th time you played the "Ellie Mae" card which is exactly like your pattern last week with the 20 "OBJ's hair looks good" posts

I guess you know if there's anyone open? Magic you have.

he's probably surprised nobody is hitting him forgets where he's at. hahaha
Eli is the LVP. I mean that tipped pick was fucking brutal. Giants could have really built something off the sack fumble. Fucked up holding the ball on the second drive.
Right now he looks like crap.
If giants lose this game, they really need to just play the subs for
Same old story and I don't see it changing this year. We need TEs and RBs to help protect Eli. Where's Marshall and Shep? Haven't seen either get a pass thrown their way yet?
can play LT? If so, he's wrong. We are not going to win against decent teams with Flowers at Left Tackle not to mention how bad our right tackle is. As I said at the start of the season, we need 2 starting tackles and a starting guard upgrades to the o-line or this is what we get!
They must do something with Flowers. He simply cannot hold it down at LT. Audition time is over. Wishing and hoping is over. He needs to move somewhere else or just go. Honestly thinking they should just try Wheeler, how could he be worse?
His feet move like he has concrete blocks attached to them.. How did we ever draft this kid to be a left tackle????????worst footwork I have ever seen at this level.
We've seen Eli duck contact before and give himself up before hits

Worn out the defense......wow. All that's needed is eli, on his knees, bleeding, what we got here is a full on y.a. Tittle melt down. And j.r.and his scouting team have no ability to draft offensive line individuals.
i just want to here the postgame press conference and here
great athletes on the DL with an immobile QB and this is the result. Eli is more interested in the oncoming traffic than he is with what's going on downfield. Not sure I can blame him ...from time to time.
2017 NY Giants = NY Metropolitans. I kid! I kid! ...I think.
there isn't too many tackles in the league that will consistently shut down Ziggy Ansah. Yes, Flowers needs to play better but let's not forget the other team gets paid too.
Doesn't look like our team really wants it. If you think this Detroit defense is giving us fits, wait until we go to the house of horrors next week and then on to Tampa the week after! Ugh, this could get ugly early.
We won't have another Eli cameo, in which he gets cross-eyed, goes limp, and sacks himself. At least we have A touchdown. That's 233% the number of points we had in 4 quarters last week.
Where people who can't stand any criticism of Eli whatsoever start gaslighting people.
You can say what you want about Eli but you can't judge him as a QB behind this pathetic high School level O-line.
Outside the one drive. Eli looks like shit tonight. That tipped pick was play of the game and all on him. Also fell by getting hit with Ansah's pinky and took sack holding ball for ten seconds.
then, the non-football mind tricky / complex pass over the middle INT.
Parcells, getting that turn over gift for his O (thank you BB), would run it 6 times and kick a field goal, use up the clock, rest and hearten the D, and win the game.
2 years ago when Coughlin was still here and they lost a bunch of close ones, at least it was kind of fun. It was frustrating at the ends of games, but the games themselves were fun.
That would make sense. I do not get running a play and running right up the middle risking fumble. Why not chuck it up if you are going to do something.
Also, he called no TO, I figured it was because he was afraid. Nope, just an idiot.
season. The O is probably the worst in the league. The D is mediocre as all hell. This is not even close to last year's D. They're not even a little good.
Where people who can't stand any criticism of Eli whatsoever start gaslighting people.
You can say what you want about Eli but you can't judge him as a QB behind this pathetic high School level O-line.
Sure you can......heavy feet, no arm strength. He can only throw accurately if his hips are perpendicular to the line of scrimmage. Look at the throw to Ingram....even that sucked......then he threw behind Ingram.....
Ansuh with the Invisible Touch
No Jackrabbit, no Goodson, they are not an elite defense.
The O. They are severely limited. Between O line stuggles, Eli's inaccuracy and guys not getting open, the O continues to stink. It is what they are.
7 points thus far versus 3 points in the Cowboys game and they tripled their 1st down output in this half of football versus the Cowboys first half. Wooohoo!!!
problem is slow feet by the OL and Eli. Flowers also has major technique issues, and clearly has difficulty pass protecting. Add in the pressure up the middle, and Eli's complete immobility, and it's a disaster. Teams get pressure with four or five, so that takes the WRs out of the game.
Even when Eli has time, he misses open receivers, possibly because of all the hits he's taken. The INT was his fault, and the TD was also a poor throw. There is no time throw downfield, and no run game.
It won't happen, but I would bench Flowers for Wheeler. I'd also use more roll outs. Slants are nice, but the windows for those are very small against six or seven defenders.

No eli isn't doing the job
His name is Engram. I agree, done saying you can't blame Eli. He fell on the ground without anyone even touching him on the last Ansah sack
He doesn't get a pass just because of the OL. And of the 4 sacks one was a coverage sack and on another Eli just went down like a pussy. He needs to play much better. When guys his age look like he has for much of the last year or so you need to entertain the notion that it may be time. I'm not there yet but it's pretty alarming right now
but he really has not been good at all this year. I know he's not getting a lot of time, but he needs to make quicker decisions and get the ball out. He knows he can't hold onto the ball with this Oline.
Let some unknowns hit the road: Lombardi, Landry, and Belichick. McAdoo, a TE coach, is in great company of the 'keepers,' like Ray Handley, the blackjack genius.
Why run a fucking play if you aren't following it up with a time out? The only thing that could happen is bad. Fumble and then scoring again.
It's not coaching. It's personnel. Eli included. I love Eli, but with a bad O line, nothing works, and when things have a chance to work, Eli is shook. Not good.
That is the first time I would say Ben is showing he is over his head. Horrendous.
yes, I mean it is time to be concerned. Also, with the exception of 2013, the offense was never like this until he was promoted.
Bad drafting for years has caught up. We haven't really developed a late round pick into a serviceable player for some time. Big ticket free agents Made us look good last year but there's little around them Sans Odell Beckham and Landon Collins
was never a scrambler, but he had great pocket presence. He has none of that now. Combined with the continually collapsing pocket, and we have no passing game. It's like a Ferrari with no gas. Nice to look at, but not going anywhere.
is done. He can't even slide step anymore. You can blame the line for some of this but not all of it. When your QB holds the ball for two weeks and is afraid to throw the ball down field things are not going to go well.
he is scared, can't see past the pass rush, is so entirely immobile and cannot throw the ball accurately.
even the TD was off line; fortunately Engram adjusted.
i would switch to Geno, not b/c I think he is better but b/c I have no faith we will see anything different with Eli going forward so there is nothing to lose
I have no idea what it was about him that made John Mara go head-over-heels for him. He was Coughlin's heir before he even accomplished anything. He wasn't the architect of the Packers offense. He went along for the McCarthy/Rodgers ride.
If this season ends up below .500, I say kick McAdoo to the curb before you waste any more time.
3 time outs with 15 seconds to go at your 34?
Really?
With OBJ- Lewis-Vereen on the field?!
Really?
A shot at 3 or maybe get the PI in the endzone after a deep out.
When did Mc have testicles removed??
Your D isn't as good as we thought....lots of missed tackles
Eli is a problem like it or not...his Rookie TE saved him on one bad throw but the second was way to far behind.
Flowers Sucks and should be benched...can't be any worse
How does your coach not take a Timeout before the kick. Your going to have 50 sec left to work with and if they miss you have great field position. What do you have to lose there?
Jerry Reese and his team Suck....major offseason failure!
for the Giants and we have a few more still this year! The schedule makers must really hate this team. They did them no favors this year, especially playing 4 teams coming off of Byes. We play the Eagles next week in their stadium on a short week!
I agree, at least try to Ice the Kicker even if you're not going to try anything on O...Do it 3 fucking times if you have to but to go into halftime with all 3 TO's is amateur hour
Flowers for not being able to block Ansah..
Eli for not being able to move unless it's to fall over without getting touched...
McAdoo for tanking our offense..
or
Reese for hiring these guys..

And can barely hold the ball on a light tackle and throws BEHIND a wide open Engram to give up an INT. He's playing with wide open eyes of fear. The game has passed him by.
We did lose hankins. We also had a lot of luck last year in close games. We never had a running game at all. Now that I say this, this never should have been a surprise. We didn't fox anything that was really wrong last year.
I think we live or die with Eli this year. There's not going to be a change, short of injury forcing it. Offense needs to total rebuild and that includes OC, play-calling and scheme.
Eli appears done. He needs a team with a good running game where the team doesn't have to rely on his passing arm to win. He is awful with this team. He needs Beckham to be Superman every game.
era in the same season. Eli can't seem to get anything done. Reese has failed to effectively address the offensive line. Could be a big turnover next season.

That's BS - he's had time to make throws tonight and he's missed. This could be even worse if not for a couple of good plays by others.
It's not all Eli's fault - but he's pretty much at the top of the list at this point.
has been sacked seven times in six quarters. Hit a lot more. It has to be affecting him. At this point in his career, it looks like he needs something close to a perfect pocket. That doesn't exist in today's NFL, especially with us.
We fired the wrong guy! RH IS BACK!
Great summer of OL HELP - wait no bargains? Anyone happy we didn't overpay? Sitton? Lang? Wittworth? Penn?Zambrano? No worries we have a little extra for next year?
JR should never walk into this stadium again

How about getting a new GM in here next year who doesn't think Flowers can play? Also, tell your coach that he has enough on his plate and not call the plays
I have no other thoughts in my head but can only think Ereck is a young black man and it might get people upset if he is pulled fro lineup for ineffective play?
Flowers is not an NFL player. The fact that the coaching staff or front office hasn't realized he has things he can't fix, is a problem and a lack of objectivity. Well see if we can climb out of this Hole. The play calls will have to be perfect.
But it doesn't look good. Eli could still be very good, IMO.. but he'd need the perfect situation .
The line needs the extra blocker. No point having three WRs when we can block long enough for them to get into their routes. McAdoo has to make the switch.
half of you guys, including some of the most knowledgeable posters here, during pre-draft, were in just as much denial as the team management.
But, that's where the rubber hits the road, when you see the same emphasis, and by default the same problems, year after year, and the similar level of denial, that's on management.
The line needs the extra blocker. No point having three WRs when we can block long enough for them to get into their routes. McAdoo has to make the switch.
If this offense doesn't get it together soon we are going to see the defense brawling with the offense in the locker room like we did towards the end of the Reeves and start of the Fassel era
Giants are already having a hard time throwing against the six or seven defenders the Lions are dropping into coverage. Keeping a RB or TE in to help Flowers just makes that problem worse. But there is no alternative, aside from benching Flowers. And McAdoo has to design and call plays that will can still work. Eli isn't helping matters, but he's being killed.

Gimme the double TE formation
we need to run the 12 personnel. Rhett inline and Engram in the slot.
after the Engram play. Cant be mad there. At least the offense sustained a drive. Let the D get some rest to go get Stafford. Call some blitzes now. Shake that dude up.
Eli has to resist to audible to run with this crew in front of him, teams are going to constantly dare him to do so, he shouldn't take the bait. Also why was Perkins in at the GL, I thought Darkwa was going to be our short yardage guy.

Eli is changing the play to save himself from getting killed half the time
Why was Darkwa not the choice on the goal line too?
Yeah I know he was awful in St. Louis and New Orleans. But unlike McAdoo he had NFL head coaching experience. Belechik was awful in Cleveland. With McAdoo it's on-the-job training. Reminds me of Ray Handley and Bart Starr at Green Bay.

Spags is a better DC than head coach. He is right where he should be.
Flowers looking at Lions OL penalties and has one thing to say...

He was not the Head Coach in New Orleans, but maybe he would have brought in a better Offensive staff to help him here! Our offensive staff sucks too.
RE: Flowers looking at Lions OL penalties and has one thing to say...
has always been stubborn and slow to change. Draft in the spot you have or play the player where you planned for him; don't let the HC shop for groceries;-).
I've thought for a long time TC was not given what he wanted by Reese at draft time( bruiser OLs or a good D front) to return to Giants Football...and TC even mocked that after the '16 FA period..." NOW they get(defensive players)".
Ive felt that way for a while about Reese and Eli and the handling of getting good OLs in front of him...and its not just poor drafting. Why is EF STILL at LT when he just cant handle it? Stubbornness.
The best pass a Giants QB has thrown in a year, and the domino effect of that is likely inestimable. 0-2 the odds of playoffs are low and the string of changes that will likely result is mind-boggling.
In effect Brandon Marshall just probably cost Macadoo his job (which might not be such a bad thing), brought on Eli's retirement (again, maybe not a bad thing), caused Odell to seek greener pastures, and ushered in who knows how many years of rebuilding.
Season over. From high hopes of a Super Bowl run to no playoffs. Someone has to be held accountable for this Oline. Unfortunately the owner is petrified of change and the GM has the job for life.

He did get crushed on that play. What a shame that Eli has had to play behind a horrible o-line for 5 years in a row. That's on Reese and stupid of MacAdoo to agree with Reese that the o-line as is is ok.
Guys saw the eagles vs chiefs game. Eagles d line crushed KC line when I was watching, I can't imagine what they are going to do to the Gmen. We will be 0-3 heading to Tampa, which is a very difficult team. I don't see 4 wins on this schedule right now.
Roster 3 OBs for Phiilly. #3 is Reese. Let him come in and relieve Eli for a possession so he can feel the pain of this OL.
When he recovers from his concussion maybe hell see how much hes Fd up.

or just start Webb
At least the sacks, delay of games, and turnovers will be somewhat justified
Just rests on its laurels too much, even when its laurels aren't good enough to rest upon. I sure wish they'd *try* to take an aggressive approach towards becoming an elite team. Being a Warriors fan has spoiled me in that regard.
This team sucks and are embarrassing. What a disappointment when we all thought here that we had a good team that can challenge for a championship this year. We are going to challenge for the #1 pick. I am sure Reese would pick another receiver.
ball has to go past the sticks on that play, even if you have to force it down field. You don't throw short, unless you are absolutely sure the receiver can get the first down. And that was not true in that situation. Bad decision by Eli. Vereen should have run a better route, but Eli should have looked elsewhere.

Yeah, I think so because no amount of 'aggressive approach' was going to get Durant to go there if they weren't already as stacked as they were. Football's a different animal.

so far this team has looked like one of the worst in the league. Not what I expected from them this year. Still time to turn things around but so far this has been a cluster.
This year and it's only two games so far, but if the present trend continues and we don't make the playoffs it's time to get someone else in here to fix the OL
out of bounds, or Paul Perkins watching a live ball on the ground, or Andrew Adams committing a personal foul a mile away from a blocked punt, or receivers constantly running conversion-play routes short of the sticks, this team is dumb, dumb, dumb.
The fucking Browns look better then this team???!!
Give this team a good OLine, and we're much better. Reese has failed at this for more than a half of a decade now. Think about what type of failure that is..

They've been doing that for years. That and the shotgun draw are among my favorite plays.

Reese should've been fired with TC. Nothing has been fixed since firing TC and keeping Reese.
Who decided Jerry should start over Jones, who outplayed him this summer? Who decides to leave Flowers on an island week after week? Who decided not to keep a FB last year? Who decided not to use the FB tonight? Who continues to call routes short of the sticks on almost every 3rd down, including less than 5 yards? And on and on?
Just rests on its laurels too much, even when its laurels aren't good enough to rest upon. I sure wish they'd *try* to take an aggressive approach towards becoming an elite team. Being a Warriors fan has spoiled me in that regard.
Yeah, I think so because no amount of 'aggressive approach' was going to get Durant to go there if they weren't already as stacked as they were. Football's a different animal.
Long before Durant, the Warriors fired the head coach who took them to the playoffs two years in a row because they thought even that was underachieving. That was only two years after trading their most popular player at the time. Those are aggressive moves.
ball has to go past the sticks on that play, even if you have to force it down field. You don't throw short, unless you are absolutely sure the receiver can get the first down. And that was not true in that situation. Bad decision by Eli. Vereen should have run a better route, but Eli should have looked elsewhere.
Come on stop with your anti-Eli agenda. You're showing a lack of understanding basic football. It is paramount the Receiver gets pass the sticks because this is a bang-bang play that requires timing and situational awareness on the receiver. In addition you can usually count on Vereen getting 1 yard after the catch 99% of the time
that you guys do - I see a sloppy game that was poorly executed by the Giants offense and special teams - mental mistakes, turnovers, missed tackles. They did as much to beat themselves as Detroit did to beat them.

Who decided to give John Jerry a 3 year contract a few months ago? Who said he 'believes in Flowers' and drafted him with the 9th overall pick. Those guys have to play because of that.
Everyone before the season, said this was one of the Giants most talented teams.
At some point you have to gameplan and coach
There was no basis for that comment, this was not one of the Giants most talented teams and anyone who said so was out of their minds. We have one proven superstar on offense, an aging QB, and really not much else. Shepard/Engram unproven, Marshall old, no running backs worth anything , and terrible OL.
This team is fatally flawed. The OL has finally done them in. This schedule is too much to handle with this team. I can't believe I'm saying this but we are gonna be in the hunt for the top few picks in the draft. I can't realistically and objectively find a win on the schedule until November.
If they hiked the ball, told the linemen to not move or block at all

The QB can't tell if the receiver is at the 48, 49, or 50. Its up to the receiver to make sure they cut the route deep enough

Do you really think it mattered who was coaching LeBron James? Different sports...

No, it is not. Even Sy'56 was perplexed about why they keep throwing short of the sticks. And he knows more about football than you, I, or anyone on this board.
there's another pass on fourth down that is short of the sticks. Why throw that? How is that not on Eli? Even if Beckham catches that, he's still short. You're going to turn it over anyway. Throw past the first down marker.

Including Eli. He doesn't get a pass because of a few drops or protection issues. Those guys deserve criticism in addition to Eli. This offense is broken. That's all there is to it. We are staring 0-4 in the face and this season is shaping up to be a disaster

because he 15 yards away from the receiver. It's the receiver's job to run a route past the first down marker. How's the QB to see if he's a yard away?

Alex Webster, Ray Perkins, and Jim Fassel over McAdoo.

Neither should have anything to do w any type of football hire. The rammed this idiot down TC's throat. He's offense sucks. And Reese is a yes man. Let's keep drafting skill players DLs and DBS. Meanwhile They field be worst OL in football five years in a row and they get a pass after one winning season.
Was it the OL or Marshall who threw the INT in the first half that handed the Lions points?
Is there some reason we *have* to give Eli a pass for his shit first half? Even if he did recover and play much better in the second half, it's not as if damage wasn't done.
When he did have time, he held the ball for too damn long or was off target far too often. Wasn't the reason we lost, but doesn't deserve to be absolved either.

The QB throws the ball. Eli is the QB.
You don't take a chance on fourth down unless the receiver is clearly able to get the first down. Eli could see Vereen was close, but not past the marker, and that a defender was nearby. You go elsewhere. And he just did it again to Beckham.

What plays were for the taking in the first half that Eli did not convert? Please be specific. Are you labeling his first half "shit" solely due to his interception? If so, I'd imagine you would label any QB that throws an interception as having endured a shit half. Eli missed precisely one other pass in the first half.

He was 7-9 with one bad throw for the INT. His OL couldn't block to save his ass, but by all means complain that the problem is Eli.

Thats rediculous. So Eli is supposed to hold the ball instead of throwing to an open guy? What happens when he gets sacked, then you kill him for that. Eli can't see if the guys is on the 48 or 50 yard line. In your scenario then a receiver needs to be like on the 45 or 40 before he can throw it to him. This is a common receiver responsibility. I am shocked some on here don't realize its the receivers fault. If you played any football you'd know that.
Long enough to see that some of you will never criticize Eli no matter what, that's fine. He may not be the problem, but turning 37 this season he certainly isn't the solution for an offense that has a long way to go. And he absolutely has shown signs of decline to anyone paying attention, even if you'd rather direct your attention elsewhere to avoid ever spouting a critical opinion of him

There are maybe a handful of quarterbacks on the planet that could've made the throw that Eli made, without his feet set as he was evading the rush. Aside from walking the ball over to Evan, that's about the best you're going to get in threading a tight window.
Jim Schwartz and that Philly D is licking their chops!
we'd be 2 and 0 after this game. Going to be a long season guys. If Reese had any brains he'd try to find a left tackle even if it means trading away a first round or this season is over!
probably would increase our chance of winning right now.
Not saying we should or could do it, but that's how bad the line js.
I would absolutely trade OBJ for two good offensive tackles, the problem is that no GM in their right mind would do it (I know you weren't saying this would happen but making a point).

Eli is of the "give your receiver a chance to make the play" variety.
You get an offensive coordinator who has been a head coach and let him run the offense. Parcells had Ron Earhart. The Giants should have gotten someone like Irv Turner as OC.
But if you are a rookie head coach you are afraid to share authority.

I want to be excited for a possible high draft pick. The again, it gives Reese another chance to draft Flowers 2.0
Reminds me of the ones that played in the Yale Bowl. Pretty good defensively but awful at every other phase. This is a bad team with a terrible offensive line,an old qb in decline,no NFL starting running back on its roster, overrated wideouts except#13,and a good, but also overrated defense.Very disappointing because I didn't see this coming.

Please identify the decline. Was it Eli's accuracy? He seemed accurate on deep balls to Marshall, an incompletion to Ingram, etc. In fact, without two Marshall drops, the OBJ drop, Ingram's drop, you're looking at a completion rate north of 65%.
Eli's arm strength? He seemed to have it in incomptions to Ingram and Marshall.
His decision making? Without the benefit of All-22 let's not pretend that you can tell. Toughness? Please.
will NOT re-sign with this team unless he loves money over losing...which I doubt...when he can have W's and$$$$.
This team won't have a good OL (maybe) until at least the '19 season at best. And by then the D will be gone.
Wagnner Lang Whitworth Reiiff and others were available and No One willing to come?? And don't think Eli would not have given back $$$ to not get the snot kicked out of him every game behind this crapfest of ' protection' to go along the previous 5 years of crapfest.

Stuck in a shitty offense throwing 2 yard passes and making ball fakes that are useless when nothing is done to establish the running game first. Bad design, bad scheme and bad playcalling.
But this is the offense you all wanted. Simplify. Get rid of those bad option routes. Screw "balance" and complete 80% of these 2 yard throws. Well, you got it.
ball has to go past the sticks on that play, even if you have to force it down field.
In addition you can usually count on Vereen getting 1 yard after the catch 99% of the time
I have no anti-Eli agenda. He's getting killed. He has no running game, and the pass protection is bad. But he's immobile, misses receivers even when he has time, and should have gone elsewhere on fourth down.
Blaming that on him is nothing but an anti Eli take
No, it is not. Even Sy'56 was perplexed about why they keep throwing short of the sticks. And he knows more about football than you, I, or anyone on this board.
LMAO Sy never said that is on Eli so stop trying to spin it that way. WTF is he supposed to do if the receiver is not aware of the 1st down? When have you ever heard a game getting called where the QB is wrong for throwing to the open receiver who ran the route short. This is basic football here
What Sy said:
How many times
Sy'56 : 10:55 pm : link : reply
Are they going to throw a pass short of the first down marker? Seriously...
The QB throws the ball. Eli is the QB.
You don't take a chance on fourth down unless the receiver is clearly able to get the first down. Eli could see Vereen was close, but not past the marker, and that a defender was nearby. You go elsewhere. And he just did it again to Beckham.
This assumes that there is A) time to go elsewhere, and B) an open receiver elsewhere. Can you definitely make those claims at this point?
Don't even waste your time on this fucking idiot BM. He is intent on feeding a silly agenda
Why must you use profanity? I wasn't profane. Why are you? Or is that the way you respond to those who disagree with you? This is a sports board. I won't respond in kind.
Devastating loss. It looks like the Giants aren't as good
It was a pretty good throw. The ball needed to be deeper and to the sideline side of Engram. It was far from a perfect throw, and that's part of the reason it was incomplete.
There are maybe a handful of quarterbacks on the planet that could've made the throw that Eli made, without his feet set as he was evading the rush. Aside from walking the ball over to Evan, that's about the best you're going to get in threading a tight window.
Lol give me a break. Any NFL QB can make that throw.
Then it should be quite easy for you to link video evidence to substantiate your claim. Perhaps from just a handful of QBs
and is the only one on the offense playing smart solid football which is amazing behind this line. I feel sorry for him. All those great stats he could have had destroyed by the stupidity of our GM. And Eli isn't even the type of player that cares about stats.

Because you sit here making shit up and taking out of context stuff others have said and mainly because you're a fucking idiot
You are right. I didn't see this putrid offense coming.
But I drank the kool-aid on Flowers working to get better.
That's why I can't respect Ben. He's covering for the GM saying the line is fine and if he really believes that he a worse coach than I think he is and that's VERY bad!

There are just 4-5 guys on BBI that just have an anti Eli agenda. No matter what the whole world sees- horrible oline play, no running game, WRs dropping passes etc - they will still go out of their way to make it Elis fault. Gruden just destroying the oline play- still Eli's fault. Every reporter talking about the oline play- Eli's fault. It's unreal.
You get an offensive coordinator who has been a head coach and let him run the offense. Parcells had Ron Earhart. The Giants should have gotten someone like Irv Turner as OC.
But if you are a rookie head coach you are afraid to share authority.
Agree with you 100%. Problem is Ben doesn't have the confidence or balls Parcells had.
RE: RE: Cant wait for Mac's post game Press Conference
Yup. Especially with the kid Galloway they have now
Go Giants!
Hope I'm wrong. DET 31 NYG 16
Giants 17
drc was knocked out after the 2nd play of the game
Hope I'm wrong. DET 31 NYG 16
Giants may have to give LC som more of that responsibility and let the LBers cover Ebron
Go giants!
i agree about jenkins but i think the giants and obj made it clear he wouldnt go until he felt like he could be effective. he is more than a decoy tonight
Giants 17
Lions 14
yea that will happen often tonight
offense coming on field....obj helmet off

Wondering if OBj will be limited on offense? Maybe just 3rd downs or certain situations?

oh thats brutal if true...i mean shit our starting MLB our best corner and our best player, i know injuries arent an excuse but thats ALOT of production to replace against a pretty good team
Looks like his knee was down before he fumbled, but even if it is reversed, it's a bad sign.
Same old shit.
what a shit show oline
No gain and a sack.
A shotgun draw!!!!!
TOTALLY OFFENSIVE
Wtf is wrong with this team
Wing always gives his worst punts when they need a good one the most
I actually have to say that Eli had enough time there but nobody was open. It was a coverage sack. The DE circled all the way around and game at Eli from behind.
honestly, they may be worse then the Browns, Jets, etc. They're awful!
Unlikable
I wish someone would at least give me a decent explanation for how McAdoo could come out with such an inept game plan game in and game out.
Wouldn't the average person, even without NFL head coaching experience, look at the results of the last 18 games and say, hey, maybe something should change...?
Cause that's worked NO times in the last 3 years.
Time for Sullivan to earn his paycheck and start calling plays.
Yes. Hopefully JR and MacAdoo for covering JR's ass saying the same 2016 o-line is good enough for 2017. Ridiculous!
The playcaller and coaching scheme is just as big of an issue
Fucking McAdoo.
Fucking OL.
No way Beckham sticks around for a second contract to put up with this garbage offense.
This is not entertaining to watch this Giants offensive team.
Shaky QB.
Bad play calling.
Shaky QB.
Bad play calling.
And no run game
offense really gonna have to pick it up....we need 20 tonight at least
LBs?
But, it'sonly a matter of time before they get tired.
offense really gonna have to pick it up....we need 20 tonight at least
like asking me to to get up now and run a marathon. Good luck
Tunsil tho..
7-0
Game is almost out of reach...
JERRY REACH
Lololololololololololol
I did not like what I was seeing from him last year. Using his hands more than his feet. He definitely is not playing like a first rounder so far in his career. He sucked last week too.
Exactly!
Stafford saw one on one and put it up for his guy to win.
Giants used to do that.
You get Brandon Marshall to go with Beckham and Sheppard and the new TE, but unless they are wide open, Manning won't pull the trigger.
Apple needs to pan out.
Mike, this is the pessimist. I suggested 35-9. We are on track.
Good.
7-0
Game is almost out of reach...
Another great #1 from Jerry.
Who can we beat with this offense?
The ironic things that Hart should be replacement player not the starter
It doesn't even matter, they will suck regardless.
Who they should've drafted that year was Taylor Decker. He went a few picks later to Detroit.
Who would have thunk it??
Keep this line ROS.
I don't think he had any chance there
Agreed. Was going to say the same thing.
It is functioning, which is all we are looking for
If we keep passing like this, the run will game will open because the D will be forced to drop players into coverage
Yup some nice zip on these balls
yea Flucker is quite the player lmao
Awesome job O
keep it up

NO. had to get it over the backers man...it was a fine throw and good adjustment
maybe a little high but not horrible
I think he grabbed his balls
ROSAS ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME
no objection.
What an idiot. Holy shit.
Nice run back by the yellow flags.
Memorable unsportsmanlike
Big help

that would SUCK
His job is to kick the ball in play. Literally his only job.
Guys have their heads up their asses
Think so.
keep rushing Apple
Keep him out of the defensive back field
good plan
Yep
Yes.
I think the spot for KO out of bounds is 25 yards from the kickoff spot.
Yes.
Guys have their heads up their asses
That has to be an NFL record for starting field position on a kickoff without ever touching the ball, right?
Quote:
dont they mark the penalty off BEFORE he kicks off? like doesnt he kick further back? why after kick?

what i am saying is engram penalty...the giants should kick further back...if they kick it OB its just at 40 because they already assessed penalty....im a little confused about it
only
Starting field position has been a huge part of that.

Put the crack pipe down Will. IF OBJ makes that catch you would be seeing it all over ESPN all week like it was fucking incredible yet you want the kid to make it a routine catch.

Thank ellie mae

But no, another fancy trick type pass.

Run.the.ball.
Huh?
That was an awful pass, c'mon
I wonder if all the hits are affecting Eli's accuracy even when he has time to throw. He was off on the TD thrown to Engram as well.
The ball was well behind Engram. Could only reach it with one hand
ah thats unfair man...
jpp makes a huge play...
without jenkins goodson and robinson....
youre talking about missing your MIKE and your best coverage LBer---prob your two best backers AND your best Corner...

Hard to criticise the play call as if the QB had any fucking accuracy on the throw at all, Engram may still be running.
I'm as pro-Eli as you can get and that throw was high school bad...a short slant almost a yard behind Engram
Just really bad.
We made need to send a delayed blitz on 3rd down to occupy the pocket
Quote:
To have gotten two hands on that ball
what? yes he def could have....
No chance, way behind him. Maybe if he "sat" down on his route
Can't spell Elite without Eli - whatever.
I'm sick of this Gomer Pyle aw shucks bullshit.
He's done.
We needed him on that drive and he killed us.
A lot of qbs I'd rather have in this league than Gomer Pyle.

Bad throw, but if Engram doesn't try to one hand it it's very likely an incomplete pass
Both are possible, sure. But what's more likely.
What's to laugh. There's no question he's better. Was better last year.
after we get the (amazing play) turnover gift from the D.
RUN.THE.BALL
I was yelling at the TV, 'run it here!', but no.
The pass was behind a very fast receiver running very fast in a direction away from where the pass was thrown
Ellie mae stinky pile
They learned nothing from Lambeau in January. That's on McAdoo.
HAHAHA. Meant Ebron.
I don't think anyone would disagree with that statement.
ah thats bs....i agree apple is struggling but the defense is missing their best two LBers including their MIKE and their best corner...its alot to replace
i LOL'd
Tell me the last mobile QB to win a SB? Out of the last 17 SB's 3 were won by Mobile QB's
You finally get time and that's what u do with it??
Mac is awful.
Coach calls a deep drop pass on 2nd and 20 when it's a guarantee the stud pass rushers will be bull rushing and offer no help
Great great job
Because McAdoo thinks he is some sort of genius
because that was last years' offensive pattern
same as the Y.A. Tittle years (spelling)
Not blaming Obj. He's at least trying to make something happen.
Razor, you need to change your trolling pattern. This is the 4th time you played the "Ellie Mae" card which is exactly like your pattern last week with the 20 "OBJ's hair looks good" posts
I guess you know if there's anyone open? Magic you have.
Not running the ball enough, and not running outside enough.
out loud .....really!!
They have no mojo, O or D.....
he's probably surprised nobody is hitting him forgets where he's at. hahaha
Right now he looks like crap.
No one open. Coverage sacks do happen in this league.

Lets not joke like that around here, it might happen. Hahaha
Need someone young and fast there
LOL. Pretty awesome. At least he's getting paid just under $1 million per game for this nonsense.
In hindsight they should have signed Andrew Whitworth with that money instead.
Blame the not so mighty Quinn.
A cadaver has more toughness and pocket mobility than Eli

I'm a wait and see type of guy.. I've seen enough. I'm very worried.
There was someone coming at him from the front.
Why wouldn't you do it again? Is it against the bylaws to run it twice in a row?
No! I just replayed the reverse angle 5 fucking times. Eli went down in anticipation of getting hit... HOLY SHIT!
Fcking give the guy help- chip with the back and release for fckd sake
Yes, yes he did.
Jeez we truly need someone else out there
He fell down without being touched.

Not his fault dudes are missing tackles.

Outside the one drive. Eli looks like shit tonight. That tipped pick was play of the game and all on him. Also fell by getting hit with Ansah's pinky and took sack holding ball for ten seconds.
Parcells, getting that turn over gift for his O (thank you BB), would run it 6 times and kick a field goal, use up the clock, rest and hearten the D, and win the game.

SEASON son
Season
Don't forget Gruden's use of the word plaster. Every DB is plastered to the WR.
Season going down the toilet.
2 years ago when Coughlin was still here and they lost a bunch of close ones, at least it was kind of fun. It was frustrating at the ends of games, but the games themselves were fun.
This is just unwatchable terribleness.
Ben is a handful although he cant move
Absolutely perfectly said. 100% accurate adjective.
That would make sense. I do not get running a play and running right up the middle risking fumble. Why not chuck it up if you are going to do something.
Also, he called no TO, I figured it was because he was afraid. Nope, just an idiot.
I think was thinking about this with the OL on back to back sacks
Just in case they fumble to look worse
I have a feeling you're lying.
That is the first time I would say Ben is showing he is over his head. Horrendous.

Ansuh with the Invisible Touch
No eli isn't doing the job
Nope
Unfortunately that fuck has the job for life.
ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?
The O. They are severely limited. Between O line stuggles, Eli's inaccuracy and guys not getting open, the O continues to stink. It is what they are.
That is the first time I would say Ben is showing he is over his head. Horrendous.
yes, I mean it is time to be concerned. Also, with the exception of 2013, the offense was never like this until he was promoted.
That is the first time I would say Ben is showing he is over his head. Horrendous.
Exactly. RH all over again.
On defense, not impressed with Apple or Thompson.
Ben is a handful although he cant move
Yeah I think it's time they get serious about moving on. Depending on how high they draft, wouldn't mind them taking someone like Mason Rudolph.

His name is Engram. I agree, done saying you can't blame Eli. He fell on the ground without anyone even touching him on the last Ansah sack
It always does with that fucking guy.
I just upped the intake as well
It's sickening
The fact that anyone ever said this should get him fired. Caldwell is one of the worst coaches in the league.
Now he is just a shell of his former self and shook. He took a sack when Ansah didn't even touch him and wouldn't have either.

We are slowly witnessing the sad end to a great career.

Are other QBs the only ones to avoid the rush?

Are other teams the only ones allowed to not play scared on third and long?
There were 20 seconds left after Vereen's run. What would it hurt to try a pass downfield and maybe get a chance at a long field goal?
Right, at least run 3 receivers down the field and take a shot!!!
Please bench Perkins and just put Darkwa in for the whole 2nd half !!!!
Damn....have you heard Rex?
he is scared, can't see past the pass rush, is so entirely immobile and cannot throw the ball accurately.
even the TD was off line; fortunately Engram adjusted.
i would switch to Geno, not b/c I think he is better but b/c I have no faith we will see anything different with Eli going forward so there is nothing to lose
If this season ends up below .500, I say kick McAdoo to the curb before you waste any more time.
Is that a promise? I'll even pay for the subscription.
My favorite all time Giant, but he's done. It's sad.
3 time outs with 15 seconds to go at your 34?

Really?
A shot at 3 or maybe get the PI in the endzone after a deep out.
When did Mc have testicles removed??

Eli is a problem like it or not...his Rookie TE saved him on one bad throw but the second was way to far behind.
Flowers Sucks and should be benched...can't be any worse
How does your coach not take a Timeout before the kick. Your going to have 50 sec left to work with and if they miss you have great field position. What do you have to lose there?
Jerry Reese and his team Suck....major offseason failure!
Agree. He's awful. Just no rhyme or reason to his coaching
I just leave the possibility open that if it's a good game going into the fourth quarter, I reserve the right to have a vodka or two on me rocks.
At this point, I hope they just give me a reason to pour that first one.
Eli for not being able to move unless it's to fall over without getting touched...
McAdoo for tanking our offense..

Reese for hiring these guys..
tough choices...I know
Worst major network broadcast team ever. I've heard better college crews at noon on a Saturday.
And can barely hold the ball on a light tackle and throws BEHIND a wide open Engram to give up an INT. He's playing with wide open eyes of fear. The game has passed him by.

LBs are just worthless...
I don't know what to say about the combo of Eli and Flowers. It's just a mismatch to have the two guys on the field at same time.
Eli accuracy and timing is as bad as a rookie.

At this point, none of it matters. Unless you have 4.1 40 speed, no QB will survive behind this line.
That's BS - he's had time to make throws tonight and he's missed. This could be even worse if not for a couple of good plays by others.
It's not all Eli's fault - but he's pretty much at the top of the list at this point.

yes, it is that bad.
Just showed it on Gruden's clips.
Only way for the O to sort of work.
hc, Eli, and ol
They are blowing the Offensive Line up also for giving him zero time
Enough is enough. 3 years now. Flowers experiment is over
It's not his fault though.
Not one change on the line. Not ONE.
Talk about not knowing how to make adjustments. McAdoo is not an NFL coach.
Now I know why he answers questions the way he does. Because he doesn't know the fucking answers.
Great summer of OL HELP - wait no bargains? Anyone happy we didn't overpay? Sitton? Lang? Wittworth? Penn?Zambrano? No worries we have a little extra for next year?
JR should never walk into this stadium again
Quote:
Eli appears done. He needs a team with a good running game where the team doesn't have to rely on his passing arm to win. He is awful with this team. He needs Beckham to be Superman every game.
That's BS - he's had time to make throws tonight and he's missed. This could be even worse if not for a couple of good plays by others.
It's not all Eli's fault - but he's pretty much at the top of the list at this point.
Wrong
Agreed
Even McCown looked good at times and Will tye
Wrong
Well, you managed to spell wrong correctly - kudos! That's an accomplishment for you.
Yup.
He just did and threw a hell of a shot but we called a 4 yard out pattern and came up short. Another example of a lack of game situation awareness
That OL group will still outplay this current OL right now
No. They won't.
Put your team in position to excel - don't set them up tonfail
Reese is too stubborn. He's going down with his flowers and hart as book ends ship
Even if they wanted to bench Flowers, with Hart injured and the line already swapped around, they're out of options.
there are some who are as bad..but at times this is downright non functional..seriously bad
Quote:

God your an ass
Not anymore than the GM who drafted Flowers with the 9th overall pick a few years ago.
Not just stupidity, incompetence
He's so young too..
Sad.
But it doesn't look good. Eli could still be very good, IMO.. but he'd need the perfect situation .
Quote:
Don't think about moving him away from LT though. That might make it look like we made a bad decision somewhere along the way.
Reese is too stubborn. He's going down with his flowers and hart as book ends ship
Reese, and McAdoo apparently. Unless Reese dictates the starting lineup.
Yup. Taste like piss.
But, that's where the rubber hits the road, when you see the same emphasis, and by default the same problems, year after year, and the similar level of denial, that's on management.
Gimme the double TE formation
Make in game adjustments
Provide help for flowers
Bench flowers
Either Odell can play and you play or don't dress him
I have seen enough of macadoo doo
really? they got destroyed this week and have a poor offense too
Jax got their ass handed to them yesterday - pretty sure he's got bigger things to deal with than laughing at our misfortunes.
If this offense doesn't get it together soon we are going to see the defense brawling with the offense in the locker room like we did towards the end of the Reeves and start of the Fassel era
Did you miss ALL of last year?
Yup.. and Gillbride too even.
MacAdoo is just brutal. And this Oline is an albatross to Big Blue and To Eli Manning and his whole family.
So did I. Man, what a let down. I never thought the offense would be this bad.
ALL IS WELL, REMAIN CALM
2nd Down: Fake reverse, diagnosed quickly by Lions, Eli happy feet, throw away
3rd Down: Flowers beat again, sack, almost fumble.
4th Down: Punt.
He's actually in the stadium tonight with a bunch of the SB42 guys. Coughlin might set his watch 55 minutes early just to get out there.
He should have been moved there at least a year ago.
McAdoodoo?

this drive he is going to fumble
Move him to the bench. He's not a starter at any position! The solution for the o-line is not on this team now. And they need more than one!
Quote:
The line needs the extra blocker. No point having three WRs when we can block long enough for them to get into their routes. McAdoo has to make the switch.
Gimme the double TE formation
we need to run the 12 personnel. Rhett inline and Engram in the slot.
He grabbed his crotch?
We suck on offense
Fuck
Giants LB J.T. Thomas is OUT with a quad injury. Must have gotten hurt on special teams.
Coughlin is at MetLife Stadium as part of the 10th anniversary celebration of the XLII Championship
How about Rosey Brown, Brad Benson, Jumbo Elliott!
Pugh/1st rounder/2nd rounder/top FA/Flowers
80% said 'you don't get it, another receiver will open up this and that'
90% said 'flowers is the left tackle because management says so'
no
that was a good play good throw
Our crap OL can block for Darkwa easier too
yeah.. i have never seen that before
Do you blame him? I am nervous watching this shitty OL.
Quote:

This is offensive
He has to have money on this game.
Now let's get a 3 and out.
I thought so too. You need points, you can't come away with zero.
Refs saved us from the embarrassment of not converting
He'll figure out what all those electric signs mean.
Too early to wast a TO. Worst outcome is a FG.
It just looks like really REALLY bad football.
Not one ball thrown into endzone.
Marshall with size???
Bad scheme Bad OL crappy RBs Bit if anyone says anything about Reese's philosophy and question it the hysterical nonsense from some potters is amazing
Me either!
This. Power football is what we need. Glad they got the delay of game. You need to kick it
You might want to look at the relay, Adams had his man beat Eli knew it and threw a good pass
Shrewd move by Eli to take the penalty.
now that you mention it...yea Eli prob let the clock run down on purpose
That's because he's not and he's not a good play caller either. But hey, he's one of the guys!
We already know that answer.
Imangine Bill with Manning as his QB?
Brady is great, but Peyton in his prime, was a sight to behold.
Eli is changing the play to save himself from getting killed half the time
i know pathetic
Not one ball thrown into endzone.
Marshall with size???
Maybe look at the coverage, Marshall doubled
I know one way the Giants can find some consistency.
I dunno... If someone blocked the linebacker instead of both of them going after the same tackle, that would have been a good gain.
He never could, get over it
Quote:
that was a dumb call

There were 5 in the box...that run has to go for more than 2 yards. Eli made the correct check and the OL didn't block
I need to say bye to this team for my sanity
Agreed.
Amen.
yeah he took his eyes off of Tate as if he was more concerned with the slot WR.
Especially when you have a crappy line.
This. Casillas is also a half step slow.
We get called for 12 men on the field.
John Parry (the ref)
Spags is a better DC than head coach. He is right where he should be.
John Parry combined with Mike Carey?
To be fair, I don't think we are losing or winning on the special teams side of things.
LMAO!!
Quote:

John Parry combined with Mike Carey?
Seiman might be worse than Cary is possible.
Need more time and possessions...understatement of the year
He was not the Head Coach in New Orleans, but maybe he would have brought in a better Offensive staff to help him here! Our offensive staff sucks too.
You win the game thread

Except he wasn't the Super Bowl 42 referee. Sean McDonough needs to get a clue.
I'm this way also, I think Spags has done well.
Did you have a stroke during his sack FF?
Uhm ... You miss the strip sack?

These
Guys
Beaten in every phase. Great coaching staff
This is pathetic.
He outkicked his coverage. It's nice kicking it really long, but when neither gunner is anywhere near the ball you're asking for trouble.
He needed to show more of a sense of urgency.
San Francisco 49ers
Don't sweat it. A lot of jackoffs on BBI.
LOYALTY!!! Just like with Reese.
How's that on a coach?

God awful team and coaches.
Really? you can keep that asshole. Also, don't be ridiculous... John Mara is not going to fire McAdoo
And earned himself an extension.
Yup. Ambivalence is the worst.

That wasn't the problem. It was all the missed tackles.
For how many years has this been said
In effect Brandon Marshall just probably cost Macadoo his job (which might not be such a bad thing), brought on Eli's retirement (again, maybe not a bad thing), caused Odell to seek greener pastures, and ushered in who knows how many years of rebuilding.
The straw that broke the camels back.

this OL and coaching staff are a fucking disgrace
Bucs?
2-5 or 1-6.
Doesn't really matter. This season is toast. Sadly we saw it a mile away. The D saved them last year. They were a fraudulent 11-5.
Well he cant coach the team too.we have the most predictable play caller in the league. He needs to give up that duty
Those photos keep him employed.
Get used to it. Worst OL play I've ever seen. Comically bad.
Simms11 : 10:43 pm : link : reply
How does Engram get taken down so easily?!
running a pattern that is passed the first down marker? Giants must lead the league in 3rd down completions that don't result in a first down....
You blame Quinn for Lewis running past the punt returner and two missed tackles?

He also can't build an OLine, either. Year 6 at attempting to put together just a half-decent OLine..
Maybe he'll get it right in another 6 years?
Spot on post. Sums it up perfectly.

He's not special, but he doesn't suck. This online would make Barry Sanders look like Trent Richardson.

Many of us called it. Although Jags don' look much better.
As long as it isn't Reese making that pick for us.
and the holding on the 1 yard line
they are a football embarrassment.
Then leave and go root for someone else
Gutless performance by the OL. Gutless performance by the receivers especially Marshall.
Eli is gonna get killed next week.
Yeah, I think so because no amount of 'aggressive approach' was going to get Durant to go there if they weren't already as stacked as they were. Football's a different animal.
It won't be an O lineman I know that
Team is a cluster of F ups.
Not quite sure what thos aluminum sticks are on the side line
Give the young man some time.

Long before Durant, the Warriors fired the head coach who took them to the playoffs two years in a row because they thought even that was underachieving. That was only two years after trading their most popular player at the time. Those are aggressive moves.
I think it's lobotomy. At least that how the Ramones spelled it. But why listen to me....I misspelled Engram's name
Alas we'll be doing this a great deal this season

Eli throwing bad INT off TO
Bad OL
Marshall with finger up his butt
Bad OL
Bad Special Teams
Bad OL
Bad playcalling
Bad OL
Bad Team

There was no basis for that comment, this was not one of the Giants most talented teams and anyone who said so was out of their minds. We have one proven superstar on offense, an aging QB, and really not much else. Shepard/Engram unproven, Marshall old, no running backs worth anything , and terrible OL.
Marshall...huge drop.
Online. Abysmal.
Pugh at left tackle? Did a great job at Syracuse there. Just spitballing.

ball has to go past the sticks on that play, even if you have to force it down field. You don't throw short, unless you are absolutely sure the receiver can get the first down. Come on stop with your anti-Eli agenda. You're showing a lack of understanding basic football. It is paramount the Receiver gets pass the sticks because this is a bang-bang play that requires timing and situational awareness on the receiver. In addition you can usually count on Vereen getting 1 yard after the catch 99% of the time
The QB can't tell if the receiver is at the 48, 49, or 50. Its up to the receiver to make sure they cut the route deep enough

D played OK again. Gave up 17 (one the direct fault of Eli).
This team is sinking fast.
Keep trying, Jerry. You might get one right in a few years..
The Giants are a bad team.
The Maras have always been about the money. Plus this BS loyalty crap! As long as there are asses in the seats they don't care.
He's a clod. That Mars and Tische fell in love w this clown tells me all I need to know about those two silver spoon winners of the DNA lottery.
Eli can turn in his $20 million too.
Now you are making some sense. That won't go over well here.
Season over.
Not really, because the guy short of the first down is usually the check down guy

Lol. Guess I'm wrong. My bad.
If he secures the ball better he may have held on even after that hit. He didn't make a clean catch on a ball that hit him right in the hands.
Exactly, this argument that the QB is wrong for throwing to the hot receiver who is open but a 1/2 yard short is idiotic unless the whole goal is to feed an anti-Eli agenda
Philly is the most complete team and they will probably be the team to beat.
At one time I was po'd I was gonna miss all or parts of a few games.
Now, it looks like I'll be saving myself a lot of agita.
Season over.
Assuming the season unfold that way, the scary thing is, the management might not change a thing!!

Come on stop with your anti-Eli agenda. You're showing a lack of understanding basic football. It is paramount the Receiver gets pass the sticks because this is a bang-bang play that requires timing and situational awareness on the receiver. In addition you can usually count on Vereen getting 1 yard after the catch 99% of the time
I have no anti-Eli agenda.

The QB throws the ball. Eli is the QB.
You don't take a chance on fourth down unless the receiver is clearly able to get the first down. Eli could see Vereen was close, but not past the marker, and that a defender was nearby. You go elsewhere. And he just did it again to Beckham.

He was 7-9 with one bad throw for the INT. His OL couldn't block to save his ass, but by all means complain that the problem is Eli.
No, think the Giants in 1995-1996 with Reeves and the offense/defense feud
Stay healthy so you can get a contract on another team.
It was a pretty good throw. The ball needed to be deeper and to the sideline side of Engram. It was far from a perfect throw, and that's part of the reason it was incomplete.

After what we all just saw, how you can keep this Eli bashing shit up is quite remarkable. With the oline the way it is, I give you credit. I really do.

You can't give up OBJ, but we are wasting his talent, and whatever Eli has left with a putrid line.
Pugh should stay at RT, or heck, try Flowers at RT.

Thats not right. The defense would a carry Buddy off after wins. Buddy was a big idiot, but he was looked at like the coach by the D.

I would absolutely trade OBJ for two good offensive tackles, the problem is that no GM in their right mind would do it (I know you weren't saying this would happen but making a point).

A starting Guard
A new Head Coach
and a new GM!
This is the Giants of the 70s all over again. I thought I'd never see those times again?!
Season is already over. Save the resources. Might need it to go get a QB next April.
Eli's arm strength? He seemed to have it in incomptions to Ingram and Marshall.
His decision making? Without the benefit of All-22 let's not pretend that you can tell. Toughness? Please.
Ben has his biggest challenge as HC coming up and I'm not sure he's close to being up to the challenge.
But this is the offense you all wanted. Simplify. Get rid of those bad option routes. Screw "balance" and complete 80% of these 2 yard throws. Well, you got it.
But I drank the kool-aid on Flowers working to get better.

There are just 4-5 guys on BBI that just have an anti Eli agenda.
