I'd also like him to have some touch on his short passes. and to not overthrow his receivers high as often as he does.
That doesn't mean this entire shitshow is on him - but he's the highest paid player on O, he's the veteran - and you have to expect more from him. That OL needs all the help it can get - it isn't getting it from McAdoo, and it isn't getting it from Eli.
None of it belongs fully on anyone. At this point it mostly belongs on the coach. But Eli giving the ball right back after the turnover in the 2nd quarter was a huge play in this game. Very deflating. He also held the ball too long in a number of spots and didn't really show any balls under pressure.
He got absolutely hung out to dry by his teammates in the 2nd half. He made some great throws and actually stood up under duress, took the hits and found a way to get rid of the ball.

2. Marshall has been a bum through two games. Minimal effort, doesn't fight for the ball (endzone throw), questionable awareness (sideline throw: feet), game killing drop.

The GM can't build a decent OLine in 6 tries. The QB is old and shell-shocked and pretty close to done.
2. The offense was this bad last year except for a few individual efforts by OBJ which covered up the stink.
3. I never liked McAdoo as the choice for head coach. People said the Giants will hire him to keep some consistency or continuity for Eli. Well, that does not seem to be working out for Eli right now.

That protection can be made to look worse by the QB - and unfortunately, it doesn't look like he's doing them any favors either.
The fact that he was never the most mobile guy and he's up in age now isn't helping matters either. Look at how much pressure Stafford faced - but his speed left him able to outrun it for much of the night (he took some nasty hits too).

He held the ball longer tonight on a couple plays trying to not do what everyone has been killing him for lately (checking down because of happy feet/broken internal clock) and it backfired because no one was open/the OL is what the flaming trash that it is

Manning made mistakes, his one was a bad play. Manning has made a lot of those over his career, yes he is older and not mobile which explains a lot with the protection.

He had one really bad pass, but let's ignore the dropped passes he failed to throw and catch, the lack of a running game, and the 2.2 secs he has.
But it's okay to criticize those other guys because they're not Eli. Think back to those other season when Mario would killed for "running the wrong route" and Eli throwing the ball to no one. How about all those picks he's thrown over the years - where the ball wasn't thrown particularly accurately or placed where the WR could grab YAC and it wound up getting tipped for an INT. Those guys got killed while Eli got a pass.
How much help did the opposing QB get today? He had pressure on him all day. He still found a way to get it done, escape the rush and hit receivers in stride. That guy carried his team tonight while our guys still gets excused for shitty play as if he's a first year.
Finding a franchise QB ain't easy. If Webb turns out to be a JAG, we're looking at 5-10 years of bad Giants football ahead.
