Brandon Marshall Drop was a game changer

GmeninPSL : 9/18/2017 11:26 pm
that's a 30 yard gain and they could have been on their way to tie the game at 17. But they don't convert on the next play, punt and Lions TD.

I don't know how this game would have turned out, but that was a game changer!!

Yep.

Horrible.
Also the holding penalty on the 1 yard line
PatersonPlank : 9/18/2017 11:28 pm : link
and the punt return. Those three plays defined the game.

That hurt

But the biggest blow was when Eli gave the ball right back to Detroit following the strip sack. That was a chance to get the crowd into it and have all the momentum if they could have drove for a score there.
Indeed

But that's what happens when you don't involve the guy for two games.
Why is anyone surprised?

He pulled this shit with the Jets plenty of times.

And his "drop" in the end zone was not good either. And while you're at it Engram's grabbing himself was a game changer too - But Marshall looks disinterested, and there is no excuse for that.
It hurt..

But we would have found another way to lose because as another poster said "losers lose" and right now we are losers until we figure out how to be winners.
That drop hurt for sure
EricJ : 9/18/2017 11:30 pm : link
but the nail in the coffin was the punt return

This was killer too.
I never thought I'd see the day where I'd be longing for

2016 Victor Cruz. But Marshall is a bum, does nothing all day, gets a chance to do something and drops the ball. At least Engram was hit and is a rookie (although drops are inexcusable for anyone). I'm already over BM.
Stick a fork in him

The holding penalty on first and one.....stupid, stupid, stupid.

All those short passes on 3/4 down is comical. We stink. Please go 0-16 and draft an OL guy with your 1,2, and 3 Rd picks.
The INT was worse because the D needed a breather
jcn56 : 9/18/2017 11:33 pm : link
they were getting held left and right and had just started to lose contain on Stafford. They get the ball back, get off the field.... and Eli gives it right back to them.

By virtue of timing, though - the Marshall drop was every bit as bad. STs kicked in their share to make it even worse on the ensuing PR.
Two games in...

Been really unimpressed by Marshall.

Cut him!

But seriously, he doesn't look as if he cares.
I disagree
Jim in Fairfax : 9/18/2017 11:36 pm : link
CATCHING it could have been a game changer. Dropping it was just one more bad play amongst many.

Yep I though that was the turning point of the game. We had just made our first big defensive play of the year, The offense was coming off its first good drive we're set up at midfield and Eli had an easy pitch and catch there to Engram for 8 yds. He throws it way behind him and poof they're set up on the 25 and it was all down hill after that.
The ball in the end zone wasn't a drop.
allstarjim : 9/18/2017 11:38 pm : link
It was well-defended but I thought Marshall should have tried to high point that ball. But not a drop.
They would have lost anyway

He's just going through the motions.

I'd bench him next game, and then ask him if he wants to play football anymore.

Yea I wondered why a 6'5" WR would let the ball come to him. Should have high pointed that ball.
lose anyway
bluepepper : 9/18/2017 11:44 pm : link
come on. This team was not going to beat anybody tonight. And it's not like he was scoring a TD on that play. We'd have given up a strip-sack or had a holding penalty to kill that drive.
I was extremely pissed at his effort
Marine One : 9/18/2017 11:46 pm : link
he short arms that pass in the end zone without going to the highest point for the catch? Cheeses, that showed piss poor effort all around. Thought the guy was going to contribute, so far he looks disinterested and sucks!

It was one game. And he is a professional WR. No excuses. Catch the ball.
I'll take my medicine

I was a huge proponent of bringing in Marshall.

Early returns disappointing to say the least.
