Gonna root for the Giants...

M.S. : 9/19/2017 6:34 am
...through thick and thin because that's what I've done for 55 years. There are no ifs, ands or buts.

That said, there is one "however."

I'm shaking my head about the huge double gamble taken by Giants management... and the crucial, vital linkage between the two.

On the one hand, they gambled that the O-line would mature and coalesce into a serviceable unit. I don't blame them for that gamble.

And, on the other hand, management gambled that -- so long as the O-line was serviceable -- Eli could take this team into the playoffs. I don't blame them for that gamble either!

Unfortunately, one gamble was dependent on the other! And now we have a reconfirmation that the line has not coalesced so far in 2017 and Eli is a shell of himself when under duress.

Oh, well... I've been at this for 55 years and will continue to root for the team in Blue!

Go Giants!!!
I am your age

I have seen enough this team's offense. This is the definition of insanity and quite frankly is not enjoyable to watch so I have turned both games off at halftime.
I am an Eli fan but this is not working anymore. This will be a long season and it is expected when your FO does not address the obvious problems with this offense.
I would have no problem seeing a different OL configuration or even one of our mobile QBs.

I have been rooting for NYG loyally and have missed very few games over the last 34 seasons. This is even without living in NY area and going out of my way to watch NYG living in Texas, California, etc. The only season where I stopped following the team was the last 6 games of 2003. I am fairly close this season to limiting my investment in this squad.

Ill always be a fan, but my priorities are in a different place given my family, work and other personal things I would like to pursue. I am honestly somewhat disgusted NYG management had such blind spots with the oline and the backs on this team.

Probably will watch another few games this season if they are entertaining but I smell a coach out of his league and who will fade fast, and Im going to get excited about the rebuild which almost seems inevitable with Manning being a real chance to be done after this year.
Of course I'm going to root for them.

They're my team. But I don't see them doing anything this year.
I will always bleed Giant Blue....

but I feel no obligation to sit and watch what is increasingly unwatchable football.

I've been thru it all since the '63 C game which is the first one I can remember ... they've always been a frustrating bunch, even when they win ... the difference now is that the head coach is too smug for his own good, and the overrated GM is in denial ... I'll always have hope, but I am losing faith (at least for this year).

Ugh... speaking of which, we were driving back from my Dad's alma mater in Massachusettes and couldn't get back home soon enough for the kick-off. For my Dad, no problem. He had booked a room in Hartford and we watched the game on a staticky black & white TV.
I'll root for them,

but won't keep from doing something else just to watch them until the Yankees season is over. Or they sort out the line and Eli....

I certainly will not be on game threads....

watching GB pummel us and we got a rematch two years later
we lost a closer game but we couldn't do anything offensively
64 the Good Bye Allie cheers started had to wait till
1986 to have something to be proud of .
I had zero faith in bringing back this O-line now Flowers looks shell shocked will he ever recover ?

The issue with Ereck Flowers is real serious... the vast majority of football observers felt he was not an NFL Left Tackle. But management kept putting him out there... and now I wonder if he'll ever get his confidence back?
