gettelman would be a good choice to replace him.
It's not happening. Reese has the job for life.

He should have been shit canned with Coughlin.
Gettleman got fired
superspynyg : 9/19/2017 8:02 am : link
Because the Carolina players hated him.
Boss, wouldn't be so certain

Going into a season with no back up plan at left tackle, might be a fireable offense.

I mean this season could get really ugly.
Reese isn't getting fired.

The issue is the whole management structure.

Ownership has reinsertted itself. Now of course he's a fucking idiot of epic Proportions when it comes to building an OL but hey. We have Engram and Webb. They will be great for fantasy people one day.

Meanwhile this shitty OL and the dopey unqualified HC Mara loves will ensure we call back to mediocrity for the next few years.

In the last 2 off season he has made no upgrades at OL.. Its to the point where he should be fired..
This is incorrect..

Gettleman got fired because he took the owner's favorite players and looked at making the best moves for the team.

Releasing Steve Smith and trying to look for options on what to do with Thomas Davis and greg Olsen pissed Jerry Richardson off, even though they were prudent moves for a GM to make.

But as far as the Giants bring Gettleman in - I'm not sure hiring a 66 year old GM is a wise decision if they were to let Reese go.

Why didn't Mara bring him back?

I don't see a problem with that, and I think the real problem was that Jerry Richardson allowed himself to get too chummy with the players, and they complained that Gettleman wasn't giving them the money they wanted. Personally, I like a personnel guy who doesn't fall in love with his own players.
We need an evaluator of talent

... and if we need to, we can bring in someone else who knows how to manage the salary cap.

We also need an identity. What are we? Long term, what kind of offense and defense do we want to have? Is it ball control? if so, then we need to look for players that can get us there. Just one example..
we just need a line... a fucking line... a god damn line!!!!!!!!!!!!

If this season
Josh in the City : 9/20/2017 12:43 pm : link
turns out to be the disaster that it seems it could be, then it's time to bring in a new GM and let them hire their own head coach.

Yes, let's get some young, hip upstart and live with the results while he learns on the job. I'm sure there is a owners' relation who fits the bill since experience and resume mean nothing.
