How long do you think he needs to be game ready? How long then to actually play at the high level we need him to be? By then we could be already out of it. It would be a wasted investment.

Clearly you only do the trade if you are confident you could sign him to a long term deal. Is it a wasted investment if it fixes OLT for the next 4/5 years even if it takes a few years for him to get there?
Let's trade what will likely be a top 12 pick for a 32 yr old tackle who will need 3-4 weeks to get acclimated and in game shape, at which point the team will be well out of contention.

I don't think there's any investment theory that would value a 32 year old based on an expectation of 4-5 years of top notch returns.
Never trade a #1, especially now that it looks like it could be a top
I don't see how people can bitch all game long, and then sit here and not want to at least attempt to upgrade. The guys is 32 yes, but he's got a few years left, and is light years better than our tackles.

Forget even long term. This scenario seems to reek of desperation, and so that's the thought process of trading. I would wait until the draft and offseason and go from there. I doubt he would be the answer considering it's not one spot on the OL. Our whole OL has issues. If it was one player the scenario is more interesting, but our OL sucks. No one can run block or pass block. What it needs is a major renovation and that can be done in the offseason. That should have started this offseason. So I am not sure I would do the deal.
The deal I make isn't for this season it's for the future, which is why I'd wait until the offseason now before I do anything drastic. Plus the way Reese loves his drafts picks, I doubt we would be able to trade for the player without it being costly for us.

Should have been done before the first game. A probable 0-3 start means the draft pick is more valuable.
RE: I'd definitely trade something - per my post below
Give Eli's age and the unlikelihood of Eli being replaced with a franchise QB, I would consider this or a 3 and a 5 in 2019 if Cleveland would take it.
Eli would have to take a pay cut to fit hm under the cap. I dont know if he would do that, but I would approach him. Tell him the truth. You only have a few years left and we dont have the cap space to upgrade. Eli has made alot of money and grts alot in endorsements. Tom Brady gets way below market.

There. Is. No. Quick. Fix.

At this point, no... those picks could prove to be in the top-10 range of their respective rounds.
