"– Here is another suggestion for perking up the perk-less running game: How about running it more often? There were three instances against the Lions in which McAdoo should have run it, then run it again. In the second quarter, Darkwa on first down gained 11 yards. Why not run it again with Darkwa? Is getting a running back in a rhythm anathema to McAdoo? McAdoo called for a pass, and Manning got sacked. Later in the second quarter, Perkins on first down ran for 4 yards — a perfectly acceptable play. Second-and-6, why not run it again with Perkins? Heaven forbid he get in a rhythm. McAdoo called for a pass, Manning incomplete to Brandon Marshall. In the third quarter, first down, Darkwa runs for 4 yards. Once again, fine production on first down. Run it again, Ben? Nope. Manning back to pass, sacked."
Justin Pugh and Weston Richburg are legitimate starting NFL offensive linemen. Meat Loaf once sang, “Two out of three ain’t bad.’’ There’s a reason Mr. Loaf did not sing, “Two out of five ain’t bad.’’
Adding Fluker and Bisnowaty was not enough. I was hopeful one of them could help but Fluker can break the starting line up and Bis is lucky to be on the practice squad...and we moved up to get him.
My off season wish list included a RG like Warford, Lang, Zeitler or Leary to help with the run game and allow Eli the ability to step up in the pocket and maybe Whitworth. I guess Reese felt like the line would gel and Flowers would improve.
He was very wrong and it will cost the whole franchise. Yes its early but we are going to need much improved play to compete let alone win.

Love that "Mr. Loaf" line. I'm sure it's a reference to a review of Meat Loaf's music back in the day in the NY Times, where they referred to him as "Mr. Loaf". I recall me and my brother having a nice laugh over that. Good stuff.

Giants have only run for two consecutive plays twice so far, sad attempt at a running game.
Yep...I've often wondered if as smart as Eli is he outsmarts himself.
