My positive takeaway from the Game: Part 2

So I posted after last weeks game and said basically that was the price we pay for not playing or even trying to play in the preseason. Mac thinks looking at specific whatever is more important then getting ready to play real football and that is pretty much the price you pay.

After last night I came away feeling largely the same. The giants still aren't ready to play football. O-line aside (and they are terrible and will cost us the season if something doesn't change) we would have won that game if we played clean football elsewhere.

Just look at the chain of events that led to Detroit's second TD. We respond to their touchdown with a long well executed drive, followed by a dumb 15 yard penalty, kick the ball out of bounds giving them tremendous field position, defense forces a situation saving turnover, we give it right back, they score. That is just bad football and it had little to do with our line. The punt return td coming off Marshall's drop is anther glaring example.

So yeah, personal opinion is we would have won that game without all the mistakes. Hopefully as we start shaking off the rust we might actually start getting good.
Eli looked good in the second half, in fact the entire team looked better in the second half in general but just had too many bone headed plays to overcome.

So yeah 0-2 with a loss to the cowboys and a conference opponent. Going on the road to a tough division opponent next week. It's worked for us before.
I have posted in the past on this subject.

Giants offense has not started a season ready to play good football in years. It's was going on with TC too. It frustrates me every year.
