I would think that to get the run game going and keep Eli alive the giants should use Engram as a wide out in place of Marshall (or Shepard) have Ellison in on almost every play with either Smith or Adams.That is 2 wide outs (Beckham and either Shepard or Engram) and either 2 tight ends or a tight end and a full back.
Is mcadoo doing here?? It was hard to tell being at the game who played how many snaps but I was all but convinced that Ellison wasn't on the field nearly enough. This confirms it.
Mcadoo is a mess right now. It's staggering how badly he's mucked up this offense. Two TEs there Bennie... Ellison and Engram need to play a lot! stop thinking so much and trying to reinvent the wheel for fuck's sake.

They gave Ellison a huge contract. He shows and does EVERYTHING we could have hoped for in camp and in his limited play. He's tough. He BLOCKS. He's versatile. And he's playing less snaps than a typical backup TE.
And they carry a fullback so he can play four snaps!!!!??

-- why didn't the Giants go to the two TE set ALL night against both the lions and cowboys?? Why??? Beckham is hurt. Even if he's healthy the Giants should be milking Engram and Ellison for everything they are worth... and Beckham is hurt!
And why carry a fullback...
They should be lining up two TE two wr one rb all game long. Rotate in the big three at wr for the two spots, play vereen at rb as the primary but give snaps to darkwa--- you can run out of that formation more than this 11 personnel crap. And you just gave this guy Ellison 25 million. If he's isn't gonna play starter TE minutes or even big boy #2 TE minutes why'd you sign him...
Just seems like an odd allocation of FA money for Ellison if he isn't going to be a full time player here. Or am I just over thinking this... I expected Ellison to be a big player, or at least bigger than this and he didn't do anything wrong in camp.

Dallas quick passing game. Lions game passing pretty much the opposite. Heavy Hand? Blockers were mostly on the bench. No serious attempt to run.
McAdoo has had Flowers back in press conferences, but no support on the field. Flowers has been left on an Island except I think a few snaps in the Lions game (feel sorry for the kid). This isn't Einstein stuff.
I think this comment is telling. Eli said, "We've just got to figure out what's our best personnel, what's our best style, how we're going to be able to move the ball."
