but Quinn's special teams unit let us down last night.
Very poor punt by Wing in the 1st qtr. The kick out of bounds by Rojas and the return TD. All hurt badly. No one is really talking about it.

Agreed. A terrible game by Special Teams last night. I thought they got better last Season, but in the two games we've had so far this Season, they've been pretty bad overall. In my opinion.
I guess this quote by Mac means he doesn't buy into the Parcells Â
I honestly don't expect any major changes on the OLine or play calling duties. The only other possibility is who carries the bulk of the load at RB. And I think he's stubborn enough to not touch that either. He's in a storm right now but I think he'll ride it right to the bottom or get this ship into smooth waters to prove himself right. I understand being patient but this started last year despite being 11-5. It's even splashed over into special teams. We have no blocking on punt returns and that return for a TD by the Lions was pathetic. Why is it other teams can return punts but all the Giants can do is Fair Catch?
Oh, and Macs continual defense of Flowers is getting rediculous Â
It's funny to me how Giants fans initially hate the media for treating the Giants unfairly, and then gradually begin to adopt the media's point of view.

Eh, Special Teams were pretty mediocre last year as well. I just think that poor special teams play doesn't often result in an egregious catastrophe because mistakes are hard for the other team to capitalize upon.

I don't get this take? I get very frustrated with our writers. I hate when they try to manufacture stories. I hate when they ask the same question 20 different ways. I hate when they ask stupid questions or talk about hair styles. I have zero issue with them calling McAdoo on his bullshit. He has been a dick to them with his responses recently so they should continue to ask the tough questions. I applaud that.
did an excellent job in this call. He went out of his way to accept responsibility for the team's performance, and in singling out Eli --
last night and this morning -- he made a prudent decision. Eli can take it, and it shows that Mac doesn't play favorites. Picking on Flowers would have been pointless and maybe counterproductive.
Q: What’s the answer on so many of those third down balls being completed in front of the sticks?
A: It just depends on the call, the progression and the time in the pocket.
What about the receiver being aware of where he needs to be to get a first down and making sure that he is beyond there when the ball comes his way?
As I said last night, on the 4th and 10, the QB is 15 yards from the first down marker. He can't know exactly where it is just by eyeing it. It is the receiver's responsibility to get beyond the sticks. If Eli threw the ball two yards downfield in the flat then I would blame the QB, but he threw it down the field where he has to trust that the receiver knows where he is supposed to be.
The kid gloves approach with Flowers isnt working Â
To even suggest that no changes are needed is insulting to anyone who follows this team. Instead of defending such a hideous performance by Flowers, he should put him at guard where he at least may have a chance to succeed. I also can't understand how Jerry keeps his job. What the hell do they say in the film room about this stuff?
I still think everyone's misreading McAdoo's defense of Flowers Â
I think he's likely determined, that however bad Flowers is at LT, the best starting OL we can put on the field will have in that role. It's not that Pugh or someone else couldn't slide over and play LT marginally better, it's that shifting guys around simply moves the problem elsewhere, solving nothing and perhaps making things worse. He's defending Flowers, not out of misguided hubris, but for a simple reason - right now, he's the best we can do at LT.
The OLinemen on the roster may simply not be capable of getting good enough to keep us competitive. And that's a problem that's had its roots going back a couple years. Unless we're willing to sacrifice some of the players we did sign this past offseason, no OL players came available this past spring who were worth signing.

I'm willing to bet the Head Coach has a better sense of his players' abilities than Guy On The Internet.
A: No.

Q: Do you have any concerns about how the players are going to react about singling one guy out, but you won’t single out a guy like Flowers?
A: No.
Flowers must have pictures of McAdoo cheating on his wife.

Mac "It’s not that we can’t score, it’s that we haven’t scored. "
I'm really not sure I understand this. If we don't score then we can't score right? If we could I assume we would.

Better be careful. Soon the quote will be "It isn't that i haven't coached, it is that I can't coach"
Who was the tackle on the Eagles that got abused by Osi? Now we know how Eagles felt that night.

Well, we could score if we really wanted to, but we're too cool for that.

A: Just wanted to make sure that they were going to go for the field goal.
Q: You didn’t think it was more important to use your timeout to give your offense a chance to score?
A: Yeah, it was more about us and not about them.
Um...

That said, I don't like his play-calling at all.

Q: Why didn’t you call a timeout at the end of the first half before Detroit attempted the field goal?

If we, the arm chair fan, and the announcers, who are idiots, can see he sucks, well then the Giants players can sure as hell see it too.

Funny you mention this I was thinking about that last night. Winston Justice I believe.
