even Miami and tampa who have played one less game have more attempts and yards than the giants accomplished in their first two games.
with eli's ability to avoid pressure diminishing, beckham hobbled and the pass protection being awful, the giants need to commit and stick to running the football. use two tight end sets with engram and Ellison, use smith as a blocking back and let perkins and darkwa get into a rhythm with that extra blocking in front of them. I know our run blocking isn't that much better, but it's not always easy running out of a 4 receiver set, when defenses are start and McAdoo prefers to pass more to set up the run.
even if they can only manage 2-3 yards per carry, 3rd and 5 is a lot more manageable to convert than 3rd and 8 (assuming a run and an incomplete pass). it also starts to wear down the defense and gives a boost to the line as most linemen prefer to run block over pass protection.
we have a good to great defense and a big legged punter so we should be able to take a more conservative approach on offense
when you throw the ball, three bad things can happen - sacks, incomplete passes and interceptions. when you run the ball, you can fumble or gain no yards or lose yards, but most of the time, there are 3-4 yards per carry.
we will not be able to replicate how dallas runs the ball, but we can take a page from their philosophy of run/pass mix.

Completely agree.
