The Giants lost to the Lions, 24-10, on Monday night. Many of the major storylines have been covered by now, but here's a closer review of some of the overlooked aspects of the game:

why isn't anyone in the media bringing up the two TE thing.

Sorry, I sound like a repetitive asshole but it's ridiculous to me that no one in the media has brought this up. All offseason we were told the TEs killed the offense last year. Now we have some capable TEs and we don't use them.

He did ask why they didn't shift into a "heavy" package when the ball was on the 1 yard line.

Not just the OTs. In the .gif under the "stunt men" head, Jerry gets pushed so badly that his guy knocks Jones off his feet and out of the play, THEN HIS GUY SACKS ELI. Jerry's guy basically takes out two of our offensive lineman, who offer as much resistance as wet toilet paper, although I don't blame Jones so much, who gets knocked over by Jerry's man. Jerry allowed so much penetration that switching guys to account for the stunt would have been impossible.

Two, or perhaps three of our offensive lineman have no business being on the field. The Lions DL isn't even good! Jim Schwartz must be wondering if this film is a prank.

I think you're not seeing the players right. At least not if we're looking at the same gif. That gif (with the stunt leading to a sack) was on the opening drive and Jones was not yet in the game.

In the stunt gif it's Jerry passing off his player to Hart, with Hart going to the ground. The stunting player comes back around and Richburg does a good job of keeping his head on a swivel, seeing the stunt and coming around to pick it up.

Hart's the guy who goes to the ground. We can complain about that, but this is the play where he re-injures his ankle. Hard to be too critical of a guy who gets beat because his ankle gives out on him. Who knows how this play goes if his ankle is strong there.

Cornelius Washington falling and pounding Eli into the turf reminds of Leon Seals on Hostetler in SB 25.

You're right, it's Hart. My point was that Jerry gets beat so badly his guy knocks Hart to the ground, which makes it kind of hard for Hart to then pick up the stunt. Sure, Jerry helps Richburg with the other stunting lineman, but because he's incompetent, there's no one to pick up the other guy, who sacks Eli.
If this is a valid indicator ...

and realizing it is only 2 games BUT regardless of what anyone on this board thought, it's a further indictment of either our coaching or our talent evaluators who let him go.
Why
blueblood'11 : 9/20/2017 4:09 pm : link
Watching it was painful enough. But its pretty simple. The defense was the only unit that suited up and decided to play a sixty minute game. What more is there to say.

What was the answer???

I remember the Eagles under Andy Reid not carrying a fullback one year, and they were brutal in short yardage......I remember Ray Didinger killing the team for it.
Thanks njm

I'm sure Ben's answer was ridiculous.
