Laughable, nope.
This team has too much pride on the O (starting with Eli), a vet in Marshall, top 2 or 3 WR in the game and a energetic TE that has already made some plays - in only two games.
I get it. The O-line, scheme, spells doom based on what we have seen.
However, we have seen this story many times with the Giants where there is one game to right the ship.
First, thankfully, we're on the road. More than anything, this team needed to get out of NY for a game and in this case, two.
Secondly, our D is putting pressure on our O to perform. No, not necessarily Eli of course, but you can be sure that OBJ is going to be jacked and our O hasn't had the privilege of using him as intended pretty much all thru 2017.
Next, law of averages and the rivalry. If this team had a young QB without any weapons on the outside, like a bunch out there, I could see this festering all year. BM's seat just got really hot and really don't think you're going to see the status quo with him, and the play-calling this week. I see plenty of up tempo, slants to OBJ, Shepard- as well as throwing downfield more. With that, many here have seen the Giants/Eagles rivalry for decades. If the roles were reversed, I wouldn't want to see a desperate Eagles team come into our stadium. Many times, I believe more so than with any opponent, the Eagles match-up has a way of bringing out the best/worse in both of us- we have seen the worse already.
It cannot POSSIBLY get any fucking worse with this as there is no way we come out with the same bone-headed game plan/execution.
So, crucify me if you wish, but, we're leaving that city 1-2 with a much needed win on the road. Better yet, with Dallas at a very desperate Arizona and Washington hosting Oakland, I fully expect the Giants to wake up with the rest of the division next Tuesday at 1-2.
Do not have a good feeling about this game at all
Of course, I will root the whole way.
#hope
If we get blown out you might need to change that handle again.. 'well...bye McAdoo,Reese,Flowers,Hart,Eli, etc...' haha lets just hope we win!
Somehow I don't get that sense with this team. The defense has been solid and has kept them in games but it just doesn't seem to translate to the offense. They look lost. And now they are going to have to deal with a revved up Eagle defense who would love nothing but to drive another nail in the Giants coffin.
Bottom line is all the pressure is going to be on the defense unfortunately to win this game. Problem is they are not going to shut the Eagles out. But for the offense to suddenly turn things around against a very good defense that's almost too much to ask. Especially the way this offense has no mojo. I hope I'm wrong but the truth is they may be the ones getting shut out. Of that happens McAdoo may have to come home incognito.
Do not have a good feeling about this game at all"
The Eagles front four is built for one thing, to create pressure on the QB. That dline is not like the Giants dline where it's balanced to stop the run and get pressure, it's primary goal is to relentlessly put pressure on the QB at all cost. With the issues the Giants Oline have currently, It's very hard to feel positive about this game..
cant keep flowers at LT, just cant...are u gonna throw the rookie wheeler in there against the eagles?..would he do much worse?
or put pugh there and wheeler on the other side with jones at LG?
cringe at this game
Nope.
This is your heart talking. I was very optimistic going into this season given the Marshall signing, Hart having another offseason and the offseason reports of Flowers' improvement.
But this oline has been exposed in two games against weak defensive fronts. There's zero evidence to suggest that they will miraculously play better against a vastly superior front than they've faced in the first two games just because they are desperate. MacAdoo also seems clueless when it comes to scheming to help but it's also hard to double TWO DEs. When your OL is this bad, there's really no way to scheme around it.
I hate to say it, but this team's cooked. It's headed for the NFC East cellar and a top ten (five?) draft pick. It totally sucks and I'm as frustrated and disappointed as anyone.
