And that the Cowboys and Lions are good teams?
And that the offense keeps building momentum: 3 points in week 1, 10 points in week 2, 20+ in week 3?
I know we've looked like the ideal form of mediocrity, but it's still only the second game of an offense with vastly different personnel and several new additions. Eli admitted he missed Engram because he's so much faster than he expected on that INT play. You take those types of plays away and replace them with huge gains, maybe this team isn't picking #1 come next March?
It would be great if this team could take a step up to mediocrity.
And the frustrating things about this are:
1.) It's been an ongoing issue over several seasons.
2.) It's the unit on a team that can either most help or most hurt all of the other units on a team.
In '07 our 0-2 start sported the defense that gave up the most points in the NFL for those two starts. We all know how that story ended.
So I will hurry up and wait to see what happens.
This. 2003.
The O-line can't block any NFL caliber front 7....they just can't. The front 7 for Dallas is mostly no-names, and the Giants made them look like pro-bowlers. Right now, I don't think this line could block some of the better front 7's in college ball. It's that bad. With that being said, the D looks a step slow this year.
Also, signs of special teams failures are starting to show

They can't block front 4s. It's a D coordinator's wet dream facing this offense. Can't run, can't block, simple stunts are like exotic blitzes. I honestly can't believe how badly its turned out given the resources put into it the past several years.
We should be better than last year based on youth development and analysis of additions vs. subtractions.
OBJ is arguably our best player. Inactive first game, quickness and explosiveness appeared limited his second.
Jackrabbit is our best CB, arguably our best DB, and arguably our best defensive player. Inactive for second game.
These are player losses that only coaching geniuses cover totally. Those guys are not on our leadership payroll.
