Granted, I know we have played terrible and have been bad in Philly, but a TD dog seems high. If Jenkins plays, i am not really sure how they are going to score much on us. Not that we will score much on them, but their back 4 is a mess. Also, Philly can't run, they have an erratic QB and we if limit offensive mistake the game should be close. Plus, I thought we actually looked halfway decent in second half of the Lions game. This is also a must win game. We should be underdogs and will probably lose, but that line seems really high to me.
You could actually make the argument the spread should be higher.
Their D line is no joke. Plus they always play us tough, its their home opener also.
I would be highly surprised if we even keep this one close. Just a poor matchup for us at this time.
And the Eagles are rightfully perceived as the better team. I wouldn't be surprised to see the line drift higher.

This
I almost expect a defensive score as well with the amount of pressure on Eli every week. It almost happened this past week and it seems to happen more often against the Eagles anyway.
Vegas doesn't "learn a lesson."
It's public perception that shapes the lines.
Public believes the Giants are not a good team right now. Ok, if that is so, at what line number are they not good?
To begin the year, it was +3 vs PHI. After Monday it went to +5. Now it is between +6 or +7 depending what book you look at.
Eagles are in their home opener and have played well their first two games. Giants the last 7 years have not played well at all down there, plus they can't score a lick.
All of this leads to many of us think a bloodbath is coming.
ask yourself this.."did the lion have a great front 7? Or was dallas defense that much of a juggernaut?"
you'll get your answer. this line should be philly-12 And that's too generous even

Unfortunately you are right. Philly is an excellent bet only giving up

BEAT ME TO IT'56!!!!
It could even be argued that their starting LT is not an NFL caliber player who is only playing LT because he is a high draft pick that management won't admit sucks
It could happen. Man, I really hope so. Lots of offseason opinions have changed in the past 12 days or so. I really thought we'd beat Dallas in the opener and I thought we'd be 2-0 going into this game. I thought we would struggle in Philly even though I thought Dallas was a better team than Philly. I just didn't like the matchup.
I just really didn't think Dallas was going to hold us to 3 and that if we kept Detroit from scoring on offense in the second half that we would lose.
All that means is that I've already been eating crow. I'm not enjoying it. Another serving on Sunday would taste much better, because I'm not expecting a win.
Based on what?
The team looks awful. There's no reason to believe the Giants are winning this game outside of blind faith.

I would love for you to be right, desperate times!

2 games and have been beat soundly in both and look bad. We now go on the road for Philly's home opener and they've looked decent.

Given our history with them it looks like a recipe for disaster ,
They don't look shaky. They look terrible.
Expect the worst, hope for the best. Just be prepared for awful because it's right there for all to see.
