Flowers: Building on the recent shirt off/Uber eats post...

lawguy9801 : 9/21/2017 9:49 pm
...just saw this comment on a Facebook thread by a FB friend in the memorabilia business:

Quote:
Flowers showed up for a signing plowing quarter pounders then asked me if I had a wet cloth because he got ketchup all over his shirt. You can't make this shit up. As soon as I saw that I knew he was going to be a major bust

Yeah, I know, "cool story bro"....but just one more little anecdote to support the fact that he doesnt have what it takes, physically or mentally, to make it in the NFL.

Because he had a ketchup stain on his shirt? You can't get that kind of analysis on just any website.
Offensive linemen need to pound

The calories. They don't eat like skill position players.

Oh indeed.

need 10k+ calories a day to maintain. He can eat 25+ quarter pounders a day and stay within his caloric maintenance.

Work ethic/desire are not his problem.

Such a loser. Will probably be locked up by 18.
Pretty sure that fast food isn't the ideal vessel for caloric intake..

10k calories? That may be overstating it but for arguments sake, sure. With that, I'm willing to wager that the Giants training staff is not advising Ereck to get his daily value through quarter pounders and french fries.

The OP offered a silly anecdote but in the context of other information we've gathered, it furthers the narrative that Flowers is sloppy.
Calories are basically calories

when you're eating that much. He's not overweight and body composition isn't paramount for what is asked of them. You're not counting macros. All anecdotal nonsense regardless, but not important either way. Young offensive lineman can eat fast food, even daily.
Im calling bullshit

He got ketchup on his shirt. He later answered the door for the Uber eats dude sans shirt. He's *learning*. That's growth. That's development. That's a star in the making. Flowers wiLL be fine.

As some kind of "gotcha" joke where you're trying to make as many people as possible think that you actually believe what you wrote. Because if that wasn't your goal for this thread then it's a pretty dumb take.

at a memorabilia signing? Who was in attendance, his mom and aunt? Having Ereck's signature on anything instantly lowers the value. A bag of trash is worth more. Ereck signs it and the sanitation workers won't even pick it up.

The 10K isn't as far off as you think, J.J. Watt has been known to eat upwards of 12K in a day, but you are 100% correct it shouldn't come from fast food and it jives with other patterns we've seen with Flowers.
This thread is aggressively dumb

There's a narrative that Flowers is sloppy?

I'd love more info on this please.

Very interesting re: Watt. I wish I could justify that diet during nights of drinking (grin). I guess this is what makes it seem as if the weight melts off many of these former linemen, such as Snee and Diehl. It cant be hard to NOT eat +10k calories.

I still have to believe that body composition is taken into account. Athletes such as JJ Watt, JPP, Jake Long, and even Brock Lesnar seem to carry 300lbs rather easily and in a more compact manner (I believe muscle is 3x denser than fat). Flowers may be an "aircraft carrier" but you have tackles like Joe Thomas that may be dwarfed in sheer size but make up for this in strength, athleticism, and technique. Even our very own Chad Wheeler is built in a more lean manner.

Again, the anecdote offer by the OP along with the fast food delivery that he cited (which may have been a troll fabrication) simply provide a bit more evidence to the mosaic that is implicating Flowers as someone who is a bit sloppy with managing his career. Whether it be these stories, or pushing reporters, or offering inaudible responses to questions rife with double-negatives....it doesn't reflect well.

In particular when the guy in question came into camp in the best shape he's been in while he's here.

Then again, fake news isn't exactly tricking smart people.

Ok, so you're using ketchup on his shirt while eating fastfood as an indication of sloppy personal management. Absurd, no?

This guy eats 12,500 calories of terrible food a day btw:
