Ok maybe its just me trying to be optimistic of our shitty team.
I can see our boys playing better this weekend.
Eli will throw for 2 tds.
Marshall will catch his first td.
Our defense will play much better this time around.
Lets go boys. Yes our team has been playing like shit. yes our O line is easier than a 5 dollar whore. Yes Tom Quinn definitely has naked pics of someone. But our boys can pull through. We are in september and our boys still have a ton of football to play.
Lets cheer them on... Giants 20- Eagles 14
Feels a lot like:
Eagles 23
Giants 3
1. I've been pretty negative and I don't like it, so I'm choosing to be optimistic even if it's me being blind. I don't care - I'm a fan and have a right to be hopeful for my team if I want to.
2. This team isn't as bad as everyone has made it out to be. Yes, the overall outcomes have been terrible, much worse than expected. The operative word is expected, because we all had much higher expectations because on paper this team should be better than 6.5 ppg avg.
3. Which then leads to thoughts on the regression to the mean. As bad as it's been, it is highly statistically unlikely that this performance will continue to be so bad.
4. Marginal improvements - the theme for this team this year has already shown performance improvements. Scoring is up 333% after just one game. Imagine how high it will go if we continue to improve every little thing by 1%?
I could go on, but that's enough for now. If this thread gets killed maybe I'll come back on and give you reasons 5-10 for optimism.
No Philly has a real D-Line -
This may be one of the worst most humiliating losses to the Eagles that the Giants ever suffer, and given the recent history, that's pretty bad.
This might be the sort of game that gets people fired from other organizations - Giants don't work that way, they wait until the season is over, but this may be the game that gets McAdoo fired.
1.) EE drops a TD, fixable.
2.) Marshall's big drop.
3.) EE's poor effort on the Eli interception.
4.) EE's dick grab and the kickoff OBs.
All of these things are easily rectified.
Eli was pretty damn close to a 300 yard 2 TD 0 pick day.
All despite the line play.
We will win, and it will be gloroius.

The Eagles biggest cheerleader is all over these threads again. You've got to be happy as a pig in shit this week. When the Eagles look good, you're on every Eagles thread on the site. When they aren't playing well, you disappear. Very strange. Are you from the Philly area? Because you you just come across as a guy that gets fed Philly propaganda on a daily basis and buys into it hook, line and sinker.
And I'm not specifically talking about this thread. It's the thousands of Eagles pists over the past few seasons
Quote:
In fact, I think there is a better chance we get shut out than we actually win. All the Eagles need might be 14 points.

Did you miss the post yesterday where I essentially said the NYG likely have the matchup advantage on Philly everywhere except their OL vs the Philly DL? I'm thinking of course you did. If this OL wasn't literally the worst singular unit in the entire league, the NYG should win this game by 10 points.

Just like they should have vs Detroit.
But, if they don't, at 0-3, this season has pretty much tanked. So yeah, go Giants.
If McAdoo insists on running things his way, we are doomed. His system if fubar. And he seems to be stubborn. That's a deadly combo and one this franchise is all too familiar with.
Next man to fall will be the QB. He will be the scapegoat and maybe Eli is part of the problem, who the hell knows anymore. Anyone who thinks they know everything wrong here is fooling themselves. I just know that running 11 personnel 95% of the time when it hasn't worked 95% of the time is the very definition of insanity--ironically McAdoo said this very thing.
I've never lost so much faith in such a short time with this franchise.

For real.
The only thing I differ with in this post is if this does snowball to 2-5 or 1-6 at the bye, like I think it will, it will be best served to bottom out at 4-12 or worse. As much as I love Eli, if we are in a position to draft the "next guy" you pull the trigger.
6. Given the Eagles DL vs our OL is a mismatch in our favor, so don't expect the Eagles to blitz much! No need for trickery or disguising their defenses when they think they can win straight up against us. Eli takes advantage when he knows who can win their matchups and the passing game gets right.
7. Want to bring up past season's records because somehow you think it matters? Check out our recent record against Philly in 1 PM games. Also, guess who won last year's first Philly game?

Thank Jerry Reese for that.
9. Skip Bayless thinks the Giants will lose. You want to start agreeing with that guy? 'Nuff said.
10. BBI preseason picks. Who had the Eagles as clearly better than the Giants in the preseason? Were we all wrong then? If so, could the herd be wrong now? Absolutely! Statement game coming!!!!
I'm thinking the Eagles are going to be way too confident, the defense gets a few turn overs and the offense uses a workable scheme for them ie two tight ends, three tight ends (lol), screens, draws, the Statue of Liberty play or the annexation of puerto rico, WHATEVER, they need too. Hell the same offense some how scored 28 points against the Eagles last year...I'm grasp at straws but thats what fans do right?
You just KNOW that's what it's gonna be...I'd put money on it!

but if the first offensive play is Perkins up the middle for no gain be prepared for a long afternoon.

you can bet on that
Get a few breaks and have a short field for once and some good things might happen.
I like your style old dog - I'm with you and behind these players all the way. Kick some Eagle ass!
Most powerful reason so far.

Actually, this will be the game that gets Reese fired. McAdoo may go, too, but I think it depends on what he does during the remainder of the season in the way of adjusting the offensive lineup and modifying offensive schemes. If he demonstrates a willingness to experiment with players and offensive tactics, and its somewhat effective, ownership may be unwilling to turn the whole organization upside down simply because the O-line is an abomination and the team's running backs are devoid of talent.
I'm in this camp. But we lose it at the end in heart breaking fashion which may be more upsetting then a blow out.
they have a pool for defensive and special teams TD's .
There offense really steppup replacing the skill positions
If by some minor miracle we go down there and beat them it's
a season saver . Nobody goes to the playoffs with an 0-3
start . Another embarrassing loss Coaches and front office
should be on the hot seat so much promise yet we knew damn well we were very flawed and we actually regressed .

the Giants will keep it close because it's the NFL and that's what happens when blowouts are expected.

Glad I went fishing today and listened to my own prediction. JFC
