The Giants lost to the Buccaneers this past Sunday to drop to 0-4 on the season. Only a quarter of the way in and New York's season might be over. It's a disappointing start for a team that had real playoff aspirations coming into the year. To rub salt in the wound, the Jets, who seemed to be trying to build a roster that would lose, are 2-2.
There are a lot of disappointing parts of this season for New York, but the one area where the team has lived up to expectations -- or, more accurately, down to expectations -- is the offensive line. The biggest concern for this Giants team going into the year was their offensive line, and they haven't done much to alleviate those worries. They haven't been great pass blocking, but I think where they've really struggled is the running game. |

Anyone who points to last two weeks as a bell ringer of better play by Flowers is clearly setting the bar at just above negative.. Just look at how he appears in those clips. The feet are always out of place. He stands way too upright and stiff trying to block in pass pro and lunges wildly in the run game.. He just is a big guy, not a talented one...
Flowers is horrible.. So is Jerry, Fluker was horrible at Guard position as well..
Eli manning has 2.5 seconds to throw the ball and our receivers only have the same amount of time to get open.. and when we put this kind of pressure on WR and QB to play perfect games they are going to make mistakes..

Some players are just coach killers - they look good enough in practice to win starting jobs, and then fail just enough to let the team lose. Somehow they are just good enough each week for the coach to stick with them only to bring down the coach yet again. Eventually, the coach is held to account for the record. Jerry is one of McAdoo's killers, imo.
