NFT: Girardi and his stupid formula

blueblood'11 : 10/6/2017 10:42 pm
Does Joe ever not manage by his formula? That was his reason for taking C.C. out when he did. C.C. was dealing and pretty much had the Indian hitters in knots. No he had to go to his bullpen when it wasnít necessary. Another case of Joe over managing when it wasnít needed. This loss is on Joe.
Fucking hate him
nygnyy274 : 10/6/2017 10:47 pm : link
He cost then the series end of story
Question
nyjuggernaut2 : 10/6/2017 10:50 pm : link
why didn't he bring in Chapman to pitch to Bruce in the 8th??
It's already being discussed in the game thread
B in ALB : 10/6/2017 10:50 pm : link
Why do you need to always start a new one? It's fuckin weird. Just post on the game thread dude.
He drives me crazy
blueblood'11 : 10/6/2017 10:51 pm : link
How could he not see C.C. was pitching lights out. He had a somewhat taxed bullpen. He had an opportunity to give them some rest. C.C. could have easily gone seven innings.
Screw the game thread
blueblood'11 : 10/6/2017 10:53 pm : link
This is Girardi is dole thread.
Oops
blueblood'11 : 10/6/2017 10:53 pm : link
Dope
You need a Girardi thread
B in ALB : 10/6/2017 11:09 pm : link
And you need a Sonny Gray thread. Enough. Just keep it in the game threads so we can read all your posts and others and not have to navigate between multiple threads. That's all bud.

Yankees win probability had strike three been called: 97.3 percent
Girardi is a very good manager
PaulBlakeTSU : 10/7/2017 1:25 pm : link
"cost them the series" is an absurd comment.

They lost game 1 because Bauer completely baffled Yankees hitters.

It's completely fair to rip Girardi for not challenging the HBP which would have ended the inning
But Girardi didn't throw a hanging breaking ball to Lindor with the bars loaded. Girardi didn't get picked off at second base after a gift airmail with no outs.

At worst, Girardi made decisions which contributed to the series not being 1-1.

For all these so-called baseball fans who claim to watch so much baseball, it's incredible how quickly people forget how baseball works.
If the foul..
FatMan in Charlotte : 10/7/2017 1:33 pm : link
tip is correctly called, nobody is ripping Green or the decision to pull CC.
They're most likely not winning three in a row
B in ALB : 10/7/2017 1:42 pm : link
So yes, Girardi very well may have lost the series because of a stupid decision.

"It's very possible..."? Wow, Francesa must have some solid inside info with a bold statement like that!

Okay, whatever just passing it along..

Yeah, I know. Wasn't meant to be anything towards you. Just the tweet itself. Hell all of us on BBI are saying that it's very possible he won't be back.

Gotcha. This sucks. I like Joe. But what he did last night can't be defended...at all.

I like Joe too and think he's overall done a good job. But some of the things he's done this season are indefensible. I honestly think we will see a "mutual" parting of ways after the season. Joe has looked completely spent at times this season and he is a big family guy. I think he will want to step away for a year or two and the team will agree that it's the best time to do it.
just question...
micky : 10/7/2017 1:56 pm : link
what if Girardi did challenge it (no question that he SHOULD HAVE tried) and it was inconclusive..which it was so close..that that's the likely what they'd had ruled..would Girardi be getting much heat now or not or doesn't matter?

just asking

No. Not at all. We'd be killing the ump for making the wrong call in the first place.

Of course not. It's the fact that he didn't even try knowing there was ZERO downside to challenging.

Also, in case you just awoke from a coma and haven't seen the replays, there absolutely WAS conclusive evidence that the ball hit the knob and not the batter. Why are people still pretending this evidence doesn't exist? It was clear as day people!

challenge just to kill the crowd momentum, then if you lose, replace Green with Robertson, further killing momentum. You'd think he'd learn crowd control 101 after playing and managing for this many years.
