Beckham went down on an attempted pass reception, and his ankle got caught under the defender. His ankle pointed west but his knee pointed north.
By video, this appears to be a symdesmotic ligament tear and likely fibula fracture.
This is similar to the injury that ended Seattle running back Chris Carsons season last week and also the 2016 campaigns of Raiders quarterback Derek Carr and Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota.
Beckham suffered a high ankle sprain on Aug. 21 and missed the season opener. He aggravated that injury last week.
This is much worse. It appeared to be severe enough that the ligament is torn completely and he likely suffered a fibula fracture.
This is not an aggravation of the original injury.
it was, sadly, just a matter of time.
Eli, Snacks, or Jackrabbit will be next.I'm guessing that order.
Now JR and Maras will have an excuse for loses and status quo FO for '18.
You could be, MIGHT be, be biggest idiot to grace BBI in many years.
Might is right, because you have the honor of holding that title. They will blow it up and either Eli or OBJ or both will be in a different uniform next year.
Cruz at least got paid before his horrific injury. I feel for Beckham. He was battling out there. He's a game random wish him as a speedy and full recovery.
How about just admitting that you're a horrific coach and you don't really know what the fuck you're doing.
I dont now how you can lay this on MacAdoo. We were playing our 5th WR and TE the final drive. We had 4 WRs leave due to ankle injuries. Such a weird day of football.
without OBJ we might not have won a game last season
with fucking MacGenius at the Helm hell I would rather
have Ray Handley at this moment .
OBJ put in harms way constantly with this get your head
knocked off offensive play calling .I hated the hire from
the get go . He is not head coach material and he can
sheve his WCO where the sun don't shine !

And yet we still threw the ball 36 times despite a lot of success running the ball. Mcadoo called a terrible game today

Lay what?
This team is not prepared to play.
They just got beat by a team with the worst running game and defense in the league.
They can't block. They can't tackle. They doing do anything fundamentally well. Nothing. Not one thing.
I'm all three phase of the game they are poor. And at times completely inept.
All this taken, all the spent, all the hype and they're probably the worst team in the league.

Those things I will last on the coach. Ok?
Yep. How about we flip the argument for those supporting McAdoo?
What are his strengths?
What has he brought to this team/organization?
What units are playing well?
What players are playing at or above their potential?
Seriously, give me some positives on him. It is easy to say something is not his fault but what does he do well?

Yup.
And I add obj gave everything he had with the finger and ankle.
on that bad ankle had anything to do with the break?
I think it was a high Eli pass that made him reach up on a slant with guys down by his legs. The same thing that happened to Shepard. I haven't been this sick since Bavaro blew his knee out...also against the Chargers.
said that Beckham will be back in a couple plays. What happened?
Yeah and bluescot or whatever said it was just a sprain.
Fuckin regular Mds in the game thread today.
Yeah so I was wrong. I wasn't watching the game but reading the game thread. Maybe I shouldn't have put that out there. But the reason I did was the last 2 weeks I witnessed OBJ rolling around in pain on the field and the sidelines only to come right back in. So forgive me.

He dislocated his finger last week. Then had it popped back in. And he played the rest of the game.
Have you ever dislocated a finger and played three quarters of football?
I have. And it's fucking painful. The next day is worse.
There were at least 2 other times though when he went down writhing in pain and got back in. The guys in the bar I was watching the game at all thought he was just doing it for attention.
@JordanRaanan
Odell Beckham is headed for surgery, per source. He injured his leg in the fourth quarter.
Surgery is never a good thing.
You can't expect the same player afterwards.

Should have never happened either. Coach and QB let him down there
How often does a guy go down and go into surgery an hour later? He is fucked.

Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. fractured his ankle. He could have surgery but no decision yet.
