No you're not getting killed. That's an accurate description of the hot mess we've seen so far. What I saw last night up in Toronto wouldn't qualify as AHL level
congrats rangers fans. My only hope is Julien has a short leash. No idea why hiring Therrien/Julien was going to change things, they're the same guy.
two disallowed goals (that I can't really argue with, not always called that way, but the calls were right per the rules) with a team that struggles to generate offense is deflating.
sloppy game by both teams. hate opening with 3 straight on the road. Lucky Price stole 2 in BUF.
But we needed 2 points anyway we could get it and feel good for Hank after he was mocked out of the air canada centre last night.
This time of year it's about getting points and hopefully building towards something later so don't give a shit if puck possession and style points aren't there yet. Just hope coach dipshit hasn't permanently buried Chytil and given kampfen and Holden permanent roles.
Looking forward to Shatty against his old mates Tuesday

I think the kicking rule is dumb and should be changed but they applied the rule correctly.
I thought the goalie interference call was iffy because it looked like the MTL skater got pushed into Lundqvist. Apparently it was off-sides anyway.
Did you see AV's challenge in TOR? I'm curious on whether you thought the officials got that right.

I didn't see the challenge in TOR. Is there a youtube?
And I think the overturned goals were the technically correct calls, but I've seen worse plays allowed as goals for both instances.
I have no issue with the calls or the refs, on an unrelated note I think the notion of "playing the Canadiens" and having sketchy officiating or having to deal with intentional and consistent calls that go against you (the Canadiens opponent) is only alive in the minds of losers in for games in MTL, the officiating is just as bad against MTL as it is for every team and I never use the refs as an excuse.
My main point was a team like MTL that will be offensively challenged all year (with Julien as coach), when you have goals overturned it is deflating, even if they should be overturned.
I agree, I don't think the refs are biased. They just mess up. NHL.com - ( New Window )
So they're saying he had control of the puck when he entered the zone I guess. I think it's offsides, but your body can cross the blue line before the puck if you have control of the puck. Not sure how they define control, but having the puck in your chest doesn't seem like control to me.
And I hope they never define control for purposes of reviews, I'd rather they eliminate the offsides review entirely.
I thought AV was right to challenge - that doesn't look like control to me.
I'd ease up on the offsides rule more generally - have it so that the puck's considered entered into the zone once it touches the blue line.
He was absolutely right to challenge it, especially in that situation (1 goal game). I'd even ask for a league explanation, while the rule is as it is, teams have to at least understand it.
You should play the highly skilled young guys earlier in the season when defensive structures are soft and skill can shine.
And Kampfer/Holden is an awful pair.

Agreed. Terrible.

Yeah...Skjei banked it off Weber
Not killed at all.
Buchnevich looks really good IMO.
