Who do you target as the next coach of the Giants?

GiantGrit : 10/8/2017 9:23 pm
Personally, i'd like a guy whose teams are always tough, competitive, and usually successful. His teams are disciplined and appear to be very well coached. That man is David Shaw, HC of Stanford. A lot of the traits his teams possess are what the Giants have been missing imo
I'll add
GiantGrit : 10/8/2017 9:24 pm : link
I think Jerry and Mac are gone after this year b/c we're lucky if we win 4 games.
The New GM
Paulie Walnuts : 10/8/2017 9:25 pm : link
will hire everyone

Chris Mara should be gone also
I second the motion
Earl the goat : 10/8/2017 9:26 pm : link
David Shaw would be an outstanding pick

He reminds me of Mike Tomlin
The Giants would never do it but
robbieballs2003 : 10/8/2017 9:27 pm : link
I think we need to be open to the possibility of hiring a coach that wants to be a GM too like a Saban. I am not saying I want Saban. I don't know if his style will work in the NFL because of his toughness nor would he really be into not only coming to the NFL but staying. But I think it opens up the door more.
I also like David Shaw
81_Great_Dane : 10/8/2017 9:27 pm : link
but he's talked about why he's not keen on moving to HC in the NFL. He describes it as a fundamentally different job from college HC.
David Shaw
blueblood : 10/8/2017 9:28 pm : link
is not leaing Stanford.. dude lives like an absolute KING in Cali.. He is getting 4 million a year as a coach. kids go to college free. Wife apparently LOVES the area..

But YES Id love David Shaw...
whoever the new GM wants
Chip : 10/8/2017 9:29 pm : link
will be fine by me including McAdoo. He did take us to the playoffs last year.
OBJ
Sackrecord92 : 10/8/2017 9:29 pm : link
As pathetic as it sounds because he's a grown ass man. We need a coach that is going to mentor and help mature OBJ. He's too talented to be wasted away. He's already wearing out his welcome.

Would Jim Schwartz ever get another HC job?
Simms11 : 10/8/2017 9:38 pm : link
How about Josh McDaniels or another assistant that has Had HC experience. Probably some decent ones out there. McAdoos inexperience as a Head Coach is clearly showing now and it’s also affecting this offense. The OC is that in name only, but Sullivan is no great shakes as an OC either.
Josh McDaniels? Give me a break

No former Patriots coordinator has ever been worth a damn as a head coach.

I read your question ....
short lease : 10/8/2017 10:02 pm : link
and before I clicked on the thread - Shaw was the guy that immediately came to my mind. He does a great job out there at Stanford and it is time for his entre into the NFL.

Bird is the word !!!
I would hire Chip Kelly
Essex : 10/8/2017 10:06 pm : link
He had one bad year in Philly and was in a no win situation in SF. The guy is a football genius, and I am sure he has obsessively thought about what he can improve on from his prior NFL experience. His offense needs to be tinkered with, but I think he could have a chance to be a heckuva coach if given chance to implement his program.

Kelly with Lamar Jackson running his fast paced college offense.. that might be fun.
of course
yankeeslover : 10/8/2017 10:11 pm : link
if our defense is winded now, can you imagine with Kellys offense.

Kelly would have to change some of his thinking and given what a student of the game he is, I am sure he has tinkered with it somewhat. What impresses me about Kelly is not his offense but his mind. He has to account for what went wrong in Philly. But I remember Mara saying he loved Kelly and that he was glad he was out of division. I think, if he made the proper adjustments, he could be a great coach here for a while.
Chip Kelly, huh?

Shaw would be the guy

You guys who say Cowher/Gruden/Saban need reality checks.

First guy I thought of.

Chip Kelly sounds Irish so that’s definitely a leg up on others.
I'm looking for a guy that's been terrible in two places

Chip Kelley is the man
Chip Kellery as a disaster in Philly and has done nothing in SF
PatersonPlank : 10/8/2017 10:39 pm : link
I would never hire the guy.

I do like Guden. A proven winner, I'd go after him.
knowing the Giants
jestersdead : 10/8/2017 10:45 pm : link
they would hire Brian Kelly
I'd also consider Chip Kelly
Sean : 10/8/2017 10:51 pm : link
He went 10-6, 10-6 & 7-9 in Philly with no QB. He made a huge mistake taking the SF job.
If they go with Chip
yankeeslover : 10/8/2017 10:55 pm : link
you would have to think they let him pick his QB in draft.

I don't think it will be either Payton or Kelly
Vanzetti : 10/9/2017 12:50 am : link
But of the two, Payton has the better chance. I think Chip Kelly has zero chance

If this team goes 3-13 or worse it will be VERY HARD for him to keep McAdoo.

Reese is a goner, but if the org had any sense Reese would go today.

Yes, leave a site because people want a coach who won a super bowl (Payton) or is considered one of the brightest offensive minds (Kelly) who went 20-12 for his first two years in philly with no qb. The greatest coach of this generation, possibly of all time, leans on Chip Kelly for football advice and our owner says he was glad he was out of our division. But a guy named chopperhatch doesn't approve, ok.
Jim Harbaugh?
