NFT: Tonight's Weather, Yanks game

vulcaninvt : 10/9/2017 9:31 am
Does it look like the weather is going to clear up come game time?

I did check a few weather sites, but I always take those with a grain of salt.
rainout favors the Yankees
Matt in SGS : 10/9/2017 9:38 am : link
get those arms more rest in the pen. They still need to recover from the Twins game and then into extras on Friday.
It most likely won't be raining at 7
dpinzow : 10/9/2017 9:39 am : link
Boston plays Houston at 1 and that's where it'll be raining all day, plus Fenway doesn't drain properly

I disagree. Bauer is going tonight on 3 days rest. Advantage Yanks. We don't want a rainout.

Me too. When you have momentum you want to play ASAP.
Hope it holds off

Brother-in-law just came through with tickets, so I'll be in the house if it's on.
I agree about not wanting a rainout
MadPlaid : 10/9/2017 9:46 am : link
Bauer is starting on short rest. Anything to disturb his routine, is a plus.

Bauer pitched the game of his life. He's not repeating that. The Yankees can't win if their pen is not rested.
Green, Warren, Betances
B in ALB : 10/9/2017 9:59 am : link
and Robertson are all available. Plus, Severino could very well pitch deep into the game after last week's nightmare.

I'd rather face Bauer on short rest.
I'd rather they play tonight as well, but only if there's a window
jcn56 : 10/9/2017 10:01 am : link
If it's that rain on-again/off-again shit that interrupts the game, saps the energy out of the crowd, and fucks with the pitching - no thanks.

If it means starting later and ending later, uninterrupted - perfect.

I was at last night's game and the place was on fire - I'd like to see some more of that tonight.
The stations have millions of dollars invested in the playoffs
mikeinbloomfield : 10/9/2017 10:09 am : link
unless cats and dogs are literally falling from the sky, the game is going to be played.

I am hitching my hopes to Bauer not being able to pitch that way again, but also Sevvy can't pitch that way again either. Yanks win, 5-2!!

Either way there are advantages and disadvantages. You want to strike Bauer when he is working on a short rest, but at the same time the Yankees pen has been overused and could use the extra day of rest. I'm still pissed about Game-2, the series should be 2-1 Yanks.

This +100

Francona is panicking
GentleGiant : 10/9/2017 10:46 am : link
something is not right with Kluber and he doesn't trust him in a game 5. That combined with the lost of Encarnacion has him skeptical of a victorious 5 game series. It's the right move though, the underdog with momentum in a final game is dangerous. He really needed that win last night. He was probably going to ride Miller to the 9th but Bird's hr forced him punt to today. I love watching Francona manage. He's the best in the game by far.

On another note - the Yankees have scored a total of 1 run in this series not via the hr.
I hope this doesn't jinx anything
Beer Man : 10/9/2017 11:12 am : link
But Greg Bird is starting to become that clutch hitter every team hungers for. Hopefully he can stay healthy and carry that through a long Yankees career

Bird is a very different type of hitter from Judge and Sanchez but he could be as good as either of them with his approach and a good stretch of time avoiding injuries
Bird's talented and disciplined enough to hit good pitching.
bceagle05 : 10/9/2017 11:26 am : link
You can see why the Yankees evaluated him as their best hitting prospect. He may lack the "wow" factor of Sanchez and Judge, but I think I'd rather have Bird in the box in a do-or-die at-bat. All three of them are stars.

How's it looking fellas? Forecast on my weather app seems to indicate the game should get played without much interence. 30% chance of scattered showers. Anyone near the city have any different info?
Radar looks pretty clear
B in ALB : 10/9/2017 4:09 pm : link
But what the fuck do I know?
Satellite weather app for the boat, which is normally spot on
jcn56 : 10/9/2017 4:10 pm : link
for the next 5 hours, seems to say that nothing more than the occasional sprinkle should happen. It's been rainy here all day, but never anything more than a light shower, and it's supposed to lighten up as we approach gametime.
