No WR = death of 11 personnel...

Dan in the Springs : 10/9/2017 1:10 pm
With only one healthy WR at the end of the game, there was no option to go 3WR. As Coach McAdoo said in his presser - they had to put TE's in as WR and have them run routes they aren't familiar with.

This week there should be no excuse. We should be revisiting the part of the playbook that focuses on 13 personnel all week. Sully and McAdoo have their work cut out for them. Our best 11 offensive weapons are going to include 3 TE, so let's make sure the game plan and design focuses on opportunities for the TE to make something happen.

Will be interesting and telling to see if we go with 11 personnel a bunch on Sunday again.
Thats why they signed King and promoted

Rudolph from the PS. McAdoo cant function with out his 11 personnel offense.
Agreed man. So pathetic seeing Ellison Trot out wide with a lead

We should have gone jumbo 3 TE

Next week I want LaCosse active against Den

Jumbo 4TE sets with Engram out wide. It's the only option we have and it's also the only logical way to play Denver

Our TEs are deep and solid. Use them all , as TEs minus Engram out wide or Ellison in the backfield.
Will be interesting...

if we see a lot of King and Rudolph. You can justify some of it, but hard to justify a lot.

Time for the offensive geniuses to earn their paychecks.
Ben's take...

we only have 4 TE

on the roster so Ben has had little choice but to play 11. Need at least 6 TE to play 12.
I honestly could not believe

that's how he responded to the WR injuries.

As mentioned above, you're playing WITH THE LEAD. You're out of WRs. You're getting killed on by the perimeter pass rush.

So what do you do?

SPLIT YOUR TES OUT WIDE AS WIDE RECEIVERS? REALLY?!?!?

You literally could not come up with a scenario where it makes more sense to go with a jumbo look and MAC still refused to do it.

Well when you put it that way...it sounds, just awful.

It's been said elsewhere but for many of those same reasons, I was pissed we went all Andy Reid and refused to run. Darkwa 8 for 69 & a 23td TD, it's finally working after all the 'get the run game going' talk... aaaaaaaaand pass again. They suck vs the run, have great pass rushers & we're down 3 WRs so we throw?

On that note, the least sensible thing to happen now is continued overuse of 11 personnel. So I'm betting that's what's about to happen. Not that it will matter much vs the Denver D
Can't really put those TEs out thee

Engram and Adams, and call it "jumbo".

Pack them all in - tell the D you are going to run - and expect them to all block their man is equally unrealistic.

Talent is as much of a problem as coaching

some of you guys raved about Adams blocking

and used that to justify no having Tye on the roster, but you may have seen Adams huge wiff on a blitz leading to a sack.
cha, and, as you may be saying, 12 could be better vs a
