With only one healthy WR at the end of the game, there was no option to go 3WR. As Coach McAdoo said in his presser - they had to put TE's in as WR and have them run routes they aren't familiar with.
This week there should be no excuse. We should be revisiting the part of the playbook that focuses on 13 personnel all week. Sully and McAdoo have their work cut out for them. Our best 11 offensive weapons are going to include 3 TE, so let's make sure the game plan and design focuses on opportunities for the TE to make something happen.
Will be interesting and telling to see if we go with 11 personnel a bunch on Sunday again.
Next week I want LaCosse active against Den
Jumbo 4TE sets with Engram out wide. It's the only option we have and it's also the only logical way to play Denver
Our TEs are deep and solid. Use them all , as TEs minus Engram out wide or Ellison in the backfield.
Time for the offensive geniuses to earn their paychecks.

Well when you put it that way...it sounds, just awful.
It's been said elsewhere but for many of those same reasons, I was pissed we went all Andy Reid and refused to run. Darkwa 8 for 69 & a 23td TD, it's finally working after all the 'get the run game going' talk... aaaaaaaaand pass again. They suck vs the run, have great pass rushers & we're down 3 WRs so we throw?
On that note, the least sensible thing to happen now is continued overuse of 11 personnel. So I'm betting that's what's about to happen. Not that it will matter much vs the Denver D
Pack them all in - tell the D you are going to run - and expect them to all block their man is equally unrealistic.
Talent is as much of a problem as coaching
