What the NY Giants need to do from here forward

TheGhostofBlueGuy : 10/9/2017 5:26 pm
1) Can Mcadoo and Reese simultaneously next week after the Denver shellacking we are about to take. Start looking for a GM in the Seattle/Raider/Denver/Baltimore front offices. A Player Personnel guy with some experience evaluating talent. Outside of 3 or 4 guys on this team, we have none. None at LB, RB, OL, WR with two or three notable exceptions.

2) Thanks for the memories, Eli. Cut him and take the cap hit. Period. With Webb or Mayfield under center, the cap hit won't be so atrocious.

3) Put a seriously lowball offer on OBJ and cut him loose once he signs elsewhere. I'd offer 7 million a year with 15 million guaranteed. Someone else will bite and we get our two first rounders while simultaneously jettisoning an oft injured headache. no way I'd make him the highest paid wideout eber. No fucking way in hell. Do you think he comes back the same? I don't. Oh, and karma is a bitch, Odell. Now you know.

4) All the specialty special teamers must go. Wing, Harris, DeOssie. Rosas gets a pass but if he misses ONE kick inside the 40, he goes, too.

5) PUT THE REBUILD ON THE FRONT BURNER ON HIGH HEAT!!! We fucked up by not pushing for Whitworth or Schwartz. JPP is and was a waste of money. Rebuild the front line on offense and go from there. When you can't run or pass protect, the season is going to be what it is going to be.

6) Tank the season and get Barkley in the first and Mayfield in the first/second. I was right about Carr and Watson. Mayfield has the 'it' factor. He ain't no Johnny Manziel. Fuckin' kid can ball.

We aren't going to win this or next year as currently constituted.

CLEAN FUCKING HOUSE FROM TOP TO BOTTOM!!!!

You may now return to your regularly scheduled programming.

I'm not understanding why people want OBJ out
Bleedblue10 : 10/9/2017 5:46 pm : link
One of the only guys on our team that you know week in and week out he's giving you 110% and lets not forget is also one of the games most talented players and you wanna just let him go to another team. Sorry but you don't trade away or let your only Superstar walk out the door. So he needs to grow up what is he 23? Who doesn't need to grow up at 23? Watch these next 11 weeks wout him and tell me you want him gone. Every game is gonna look like Dallas opening week
People opposed to re-signing Odell
CT Charlie : 10/9/2017 6:13 pm : link
don't hate him or think he's a jerk. They simply don't believe the money he'll command is money well spent. He'll want around 20 million a year, and many of us question whether allocating that much money for one receiver (who might get injured again) is better than getting 2-3 other good players at positions of need.

People want OBJ out for several reasons. First, tying up that much money in a wide receiver is stupid. Second and third, his antics that are attention seeking and the constant drops would double down on the stupidity. Remember his drops against Washington 2 years ago , playoffs last year and the Tampa game this year. Most teams that have winning cultures don’t have guys like him on the team, especially for huge money . Go online and look at the good teams and where the money is spent. QB, left tackle, corner and maybe lb or de. I didn’t see many paying anyone 15 Million plus a year for anybody but the qb. It’s ridiculous enough that next year our 2 sub par defensive ends make up 20% of the cap. Throw in Eli who is somewhat worth his money and you have something like a third of your money in 3 players. Unless you hit on your drafts at the highest rate, which we don’t, how are we going to be competitive ?
Well, the thing is ...
FStubbs : 10/9/2017 7:10 pm : link
... Odell Beckham might never be the same anyway.

Thank you, brother. A rebuild needs to be complete. Top to bottom. Look at where you are allocating majority of your cap and tell me if that makes sense.

It is a recipe for disaster and cap hell.
How about....

Sit back and enjoy the rest of our No-Pressure Season and see how many games we can Win.

Giants future
Giantslifer : 10/10/2017 3:11 pm : link
Giants need to ease Eli out of team. Decision needs to be made if Webb or Geno is capable of being starter for next 10 years.
GM and his upper management need to be released, keep scouts.too many bad picks, no depth.
Draft /FA as many OL as possible, find out who on OL is really worth keeping, maybe some need to be moved around.
Is OBJ worth the hassle? What is trade market? maybe fear of being traded to Jacksonville will wake him up.
Is MacMagoo able to adapt to changes that will be made?
Change Offense philosophy back to run first? (next year)
Defense
Spagnola what the hell happened? Has defense quit? Too many lead losses in crunch time. You have until end of season to fix.
Q - does OB have anything in common w Shockey?
Dave : 10/10/2017 3:23 pm : link
idk, I hated to see Shockey go, but, with the benefit of hindsight, he was definitely holding the TEAM back.

could history be repeating itself?
