SAN FRANCISCO—More than a dozen wildfires ravaging Northern California destroyed 1,500 houses and businesses, pushed thousands out of their homes and turned parts of the state’s bucolic wine country into an inferno.
here in the East Bay. Kids' practices were cancelled due to poor air quality. And their summer camp in Sonoma County has apparently been burned to the ground.
Were to arrive this Saturday. We cancelled last night and will rebook for April or May. Due to the fires the airline let us cancel without being charged cancelation fees. Hopefully they get under control and contained soon.
Wine country or not, these fires are not something to be mocked. I hope everyone affected is able to make it out ok, and are able to rebuild and resume their lives.
