OBJs MRI

Dave on the UWS : 10/9/2017 8:28 pm
have we heard anything?
The Giants are done this year...
est1986 : 10/9/2017 8:29 pm : link
And so is Odell.
He will be pissing in the opponents endzone next year

.
If he has ligament
Dave on the UWS : 10/9/2017 8:33 pm : link
or worse nerve damage he will never be the same player. Rehab won't matter. That's why I would like to know what the doctors find.
If he has ligament damage he won't be the same?
GiantsRage2007 : 10/9/2017 8:58 pm : link
Stop it, that's untrue. Countless people have torn ligaments and have recovered 100%

He broke his fibula and the way it broke, he most likely tore the syndesmotic ligament. They'll operate on the ankle to stabilize the ligament and hold the ankle together.

My wife did the same thing, ankle twisted the same way. They put a screw to hold the ligament and a plate to fix the fibula.

Now, I'm not comparing OBJ to my wife, but how many people tear acl's or ankle ligaments and come back?

Stop with the never be the same nonsense.
Hope he makes a full recovery

His ability to shake defenders out of their jock straps is unparalleled
Well
burtmanjack : 10/9/2017 9:47 pm : link
Every doc I spoke to today said (1) based on the video of the injury he almost certainly had ligament damage; (2) the decision to operate corroborates that; nd (3) he will make a good recovery, but that post injury things are never entirely the same, and that he may lose a half to a full step.
Based on other severe injuries we have seen
GIANTS128 : 10/9/2017 9:49 pm : link
The issue is he may not be "100%" next year. Hopefully he is but we will see.
This could easily be a career ender
ZGiants98 : 10/9/2017 10:23 pm : link
Are people fucking serious? After watching Cruz, Nicks, Smith, and countless others be done in their mid 20s we seriously haven't learned our lesson? The guy's entire skillset depends on speed, cut-ability, ect. He absolutely could be done.

100% agreed.

If he doesn't show the same skills next year we absolutely can't sign him long term
So many dumb fucks on this board

Left to run rampant. Denny, ZGiants, Im loooking at you two.
The difference between Beckham and Nicks/Cruz/Smith
BlackLight : 10/10/2017 2:03 am : link
is that Beckham with, say, a 20% lower ceiling is probably still good enough to play in the NFL.

We still might not be able to keep him, because like Steve Smith, he might be convinced he's still worth getting superstar money, even if he's no longer a superstar. But if he and the team agree on reality, he's certainly worth keeping around.
We are not taking just another player
Dave on the UWS : 10/10/2017 7:00 am : link
We are talking a “generational” talent. This injury very likely will take away what makes him super special. Yes he will get back on the field and be a good player but if he can’t be OBJ anymore than this past Sun was truly one of the worst days in Giants history.
That’s why I asked if we know yet if the ligament was involved

Truth hurts. Im not saying he's never playing again, but he could easily not be the same if he ripped up ligaments, ect. Give me a break.

Odell Beckham Jr. had surgery on his left ankle last night, per source. Optimism for a full recovery.
I think we need to draft a WR in round 1 next year
TommytheElephant : 10/10/2017 7:49 am : link
Clearly they will have to amputate
