bmarshall Tomorrow I’ll have surgery ending year 12. I’m filled with mixed emotions. I wasn’t able to produce for my team the way I wanted to but this was my greatest year to date. This game has shown me who I really am good and bad. This game has given me the opportunity to grow as a man, father, husband, teammate, leader.. . I’m so thankful for this game.. . The biggest lesson I’ve learned about myself is that Adversity kicks my Ass. I’m proud to say that after 12 years I’ve finally became the man I knew I was suppose to be by confronting Adversity with a Smile. Gods Delay isn’t Gods Denial |
Three season-ending ankle injuries at the same position in the same game. Wow.
Sometimes the memory of who the player was vs. the current reality leads to poor signings (See Washington 2002).
Lets add Darius Powe to the active roster and see if any of the 3 young guys (Powe, Floyd, Lewis) can be productive players next year.
No, but I can blame him for all the passes he dropped this year. Especially the one against DET.
Actually should probably thank him. He makes that and other grabs, we are probably 2-3, both Reese and McAdoo get stays of execution and we lose a shot at getting a qb to follow up Eli.
Really? How much production did Marshall give them? 18 receptions, 154 yards...8.6 yd/catch.
All that for what was it...$7mm? $8mm?
I'm sorry he got hurt, but the reality is that he was not open any more often than Victor Cruz was last season...and dropped a cr@pload of passes.
He's a good guy, and I wish him all the best but he looked like he was contemplating retirement the entire time he was here.

Cmon, this is nothing like Herman Moore.

Yeah, 18 catches more than we got from Herman Moore who caught.. ZERO balls here and was about 5 years removed from his last productive NFL season when he was called off the street to play here mid-season because we had no WR's left.
Brandon Marshall was signed as a FA, was at least semi-involved the prior year (Moore, again, the year prior had a whopping 4 catches) and was extremely productive 2 years ago.
It's a shitty, lazy comparison with close to zero parallels.
Marshall had a lot of bad drops but was also part of a dysfunctional offense. If he played the entire season, he probably catches 60 balls.
Herman Moore caught... zero.

This is really scary. I'm actually agreeing with Chopperhatch.
Feel better man.
Don't let the door hit you on the way out.
I'd be surprised if Marshall is on the team next year. My guess is he's part of the enormous purge of players and coaches coming at the end of this dreadful season. But he has a bright future whatever he decides to do going forward.

I don't think this is fair. Deon Grant, R.W. McQuarters, Sam Madison, Ottis Anderson, Lomas Brown, Micheal Barrow, just to name a few, were aging veterans who came in and made significant impacts on Super Bowl runs. I think any time you add an aging vet it's a 50/50 shot, and that is league-wide, not just with the Giants. I wonder how the Rams are feeling about signing a 36 year old Andrew Whitworth.
Wouldn't expect him to be back next season. I wish him well. It seems like he's matured a great deal
McAdoo: "Ok, Brandon, I want you to go out there and drop at least 50% of the passes that come your way. Especially the ones that hit you between the 1 and 5 on your jersey. And if you can drop them on 3rd-and-long downs, even better."
Marshall: "You got it, coach."

what talent? The writing was on the wall when he didn't have one catch in preseason.....goodbye Ocho Marshall....
to a studio gig for a network. Even before he got hurt,
he played like a guy that was not engaged or somewhat disinterested!
That comes across as a guy, who already got a taste of TV.
the early injury and what ever the fuck is McHandleys game
plan . He never or I should say the offense never got into any sense of rhythm and had no real time game play to get
in sync with Eli . Hey well he wanted two more years he's
only getting one .
Hopefully someone can prove themselves worthy to be the #2
I thought he was a good signing, but he turned out to be garbage as a player. The Giants lose nothing on the field with this news.
