How's it out there with the O-5 start?

Route 9 : 10/9/2017 11:06 pm
Everyone has been quiet who is a non Giant fan thus far. Seems as if the people around me around are sympathetic with how stupid the Giants are as a team and mainly the injures.

Any war stories you'd like to share out in this swamp world since the 0-5 start? This is nothing compared to 2013.

I also think if anyone would attempt to rip on me they'd probably not see tomorrow :0)
Pre-season, I heard a bunch
Beezer : 10/9/2017 11:11 pm : link
Of shit from people I know who are Dallas, Philly and Patriots fans. I don’t usually instigate, and if I decide to return fire, I try to keep it factual.

I haven’t heard anything from friends who aren’t Giants fans. I think they know it’s best to just leave it alone.
I live in DC
bradshaw44 : 10/9/2017 11:14 pm : link
Nobody has said a word to me. It genuinely feels like nobody is even watching football. Skins fans aren’t even bugging me with their usual rah rah bull shit. Very very weird.
Everyone who loves the Giants is pissed off

Everyone who hates the Giants is thrilled.
Over the decades I've been through this before.

Hopefully ownership rolls some heads and rights the ship.
I don't even know who is good in the NFL

Years and years I'd tell my one buddy everything going on. Now, he knows way more than I do.
people arent really giving me too much shit

Here in Philly, its getting worse

With the Eagles' success. Now I am starting to hear more of it when I wear Giants gear out. Shouldnt be a problem going forward because I have put my Giants gear away. Rocking a Yanks or a Rangers cap is about all I will be caught out with.
Most of my friends are Eagles fans
wgenesis123 : 10/10/2017 2:55 am : link
I live in PA. After week two they started with their usual shit and I told them I don't believe in kicking anyone when they are down. They know I never do so they canned that bullshit.
Winning ways will return to the Giants.
wgenesis123 : 10/10/2017 3:03 am : link
Maybe not this season but it will return. Giants fans have always had to be patient. That patience has always been rewarded. Lets just hope it does not take a decade.

Not much discussion. When it comes up, most are simply surprised how bad we are.

They have their own issues with a 2 and 3 start. Fans I talked to yesterday sympathetic over our WR injuries especially OBJ.

Living here in Virginia Beach with Skins fans it's the same. I don't know if it's an apathy with the NFL, the whole national anthem thing, or just shitty and non-compelling games, but nobody seems too into this season. The normal crap I'd take from my buds just isn't happening and I'm fairly certain it's not because they feel sorry for our injuries. I guess 0-5 will shut most people up! I sure have nothing to say!

I’m definitely not complaining haha. Well besides the complaining i do on BBI. I told my wife this is possibly the best season for the Giants to suck!
What I noticed
Matt in SGS : 10/10/2017 8:17 am : link
was the non-Giant fans went from enjoying the start, to having some sympathy for the injuries, to now concerns that the Giants are going to get a top pick and want them to win a few to hurt their draft position. Mainly Jets fans who are smart enough (they are few and far between) that while they are enjoying their start, it is just perpetuating their cycle of never winning by not finding a QB. And those that wanted to tank the season are starting to have the lightbulb come on that while 2017 is lost for the Giants, they will end up getting the guy the Jets should have and they will watch another long stretch of Giants winning while the Jets remain...the Jets.

Dave on the UWS : 10/10/2017 8:49 am : link
J Mara can’t be happy about things. Whether he has the insight and the guts to do whatever is necessary to get his ship righted is the biggest question now. And honestly as much as I think Mac is a failure and I think it’s time to move on from Reese those are just my feelings as an angry fan. No one can be sure and Mara has to make the decisions. But I know in my heart he is hurting just as much as we are.
I’ve read peoples thoughts that as long as the seats are filled he doesn’t care. That’s crap! Like his father before him he wants to win.

See I disagree with you. I don't know where winning stacks up on the Mara's importance 'pile'. George Steinbrenner wanted to win. He did some unethical and stupid things. I think with the Mara's its about doing the proper thing. Or giving the appearance of doing the proper thing. 'Firing a coach mid season isn't the 'right way to do it'. Talking to the media too much isn't a very ownerly thing to do ;). I think he is a fan, but he also sees the seats and as long as they are still halfway full and his PSLs are mostly sold, he's ok with it. When the media starts mentioning that the stadium is empty then maybe you'll hear that they are hurting or really concerned with the direction of the team.

Sorry to disagree but I've been a fan for too long, a former season ticket holder and basically cynical New Yorker to WAY too long.....
Get to wondering if we
TMS : 10/10/2017 9:35 am : link
see real change in the front office and up and down the line, next year ? Wonder if we hear the same old argument that you cannot rework the whole scouting operation as part of a house cleaning like when Geoge Young came in. Obviously the Maras will be staying. But in what capacity regarding talent evaluation. Seems like it is time to revamp this part of the organization, we will see if it happens. Least we still have a shot with the Yankees.

to start the year. They've been giving it back to me in spades. That just comes with the territory. What's been keeping it cool is the Cowboys have a losing record, and there aren't many Eagles fans around here.

That, and the Yankees winning helps a ton.

They need to get on this now -- not later. Draftee and free agent possibilities evaluation, to say nothing of coach evaluation, is a full-time job and has to be going on now and every day. The team simply does not have the people in place needed to do a better job of this, starting, of course, with Reese and Chris Mara, both of whom need to be swept out of the way and replaced with winning NFL-quality managers immediately who can identify and hire better scouting talent right away. No one wants the latest round of injuries to be used as an excuse for what was evident before they occurred: Reese and Mara have come very close to totally destroying what once was a very great franchise.

Damn dude, I applaud you for wearing Giants gear IN PHILLY regardless of situation. Literally can't think of another city it's more dangerous in. And on top of that they are 4-1 and we're 0-5? You've got balls my friend.

2013 seemed more of a bit of a shock. They were just SB champions the prior February and then 1 year and a half later they were 0-6? People were having a bit of fun with it because nobody really knew how much our offensive line sucked.

Now, the jury is pretty much out and Mac is an idiot
Other fans seem a bit more rougher since our fall from grace

since 2012 but now it seems more sympathetic. In my opinion and based off of who I am talking to.
