And to think it started out as a relatively promising year. I remain optimistic. You can see quick turn-around in the NFL. High draft picks and some decent FA signings and maybe we're back in contention next year....maybe.
3 WR, 3 ankle injuries, 3 surgeries. Add to this the fact that Shep and Collins both hurt ankles and I believe Vernon is nursing a sore ankle, what the hell is going on?
Dumb luck? Bad choice of footwear? Athletic training?
It's one thing to lose a bunch of players at one position it's another to have your entire roster hobbled by the same injury.
...than even 5 years ago - the injuries suck all the fun out of it.
Terrell Thomas, Steve Smith, Ballard, Victor Cruz - how many glorious careers have we borne witness to getting wrecked by injury in just the last 7 years?
Why the hell do the Giants have so many more injuries than the rest of the league in recent years?

They don't really. You just pay attention to the Giants more so you notice it more.

and conditioning coach last season....so what happened this year?
Sometimes it just plain dumb luck.....
This offense will be a joke, with what they a trotting out there, unless we have a HC/OC who can scheme for the players that are on the field, and not try to make them players that they are not.....
The defense is on the edge of a total collapse....the offense, could be the final straw....

To be fair, strength and conditioning coaches don't play a huge role in broken bones. We are still seeing far less muscle type related injuries than in years past. Not that it matters much at this point

I've been a fan since 78' - the rash of injuries is a new phenomenon. Teams used to go entire seasons without a single major injury.
And to think it started out as a relatively promising year. I remain optimistic. You can see quick turn-around in the NFL. High draft picks and some decent FA signings and maybe we're back in contention next year....maybe.

No, outside of last year, the Giants were among the worst in terms of games lost to injury for several years.

That's not losing 4 players at the same position in 1 day, in addition to other injuries, is it? Yes, every team has injuries in football. Not every team is snakebitten with as many injuries as the Giants, especially in the seasons they seem to get ravaged all at the same position.
Just another Nightmare game we have grown accustom to ..

It's not exactly the same situation, correct. If you want to chalk it up to "snake bitten", then what of it? Who do you want to blame now? They were the healthiest team in the league last year with a new S&C coach after the old guy was blamed by everyone and fired.
It's a violent sport with an average career length of 3 years. It happens.
Odell Beckham Jr. had surgery on his left ankle last night, per source. Optimism for a full recovery.
Jordan Raanan Retweeted Jordan Raanan
Done by Dr. O'Malley at HSS in Manhattan. He'll also do Brandon Marshall (ankle stablalizaton) + Dwayne Harris (5th metatarsal) today.
Its still hard to comprehend what actually happened on the field Sunday isnt it

Technically, it was more like 3 WRs in an hour or 2.

Crazy
"No more Giants WRs, please!"

CBS reports he could miss a week or two
And a 4th out for a month or so. All in one half of football

Not if Reese is still the GM!
Yes....but can that result in a broken leg? Soft tissue injuries . . . yes.

I think the Texans lost 3 TEs on opening day.
