NFT: Knicks Chat- As bad as expected

DanMetroMan : 10/10/2017 9:21 am
-Man they look horrible and Hornacek already looks 10 years older than he did when he took the job. I think he's a goner after the year. He strikes me as a potential solid college coach. NBA players don't appear to respond to him

-Dotson looks like a find. I'm not saying he's a future star but I think he's going to be a long term piece of a good rotation

-Beasley in a sling (MRI did not show a major injury, they are calling it a bruise)

-Pelicans lost Rondo, Washington lost Shelvin Mac. Let's send Jack there for a conditional #2.

-Wally/Hahn ripped into KP and it was caught on a hot mic, they basically repeated their comments on-air so the hot mic stuff is a bit overrated

-THjr a sweet -21 in 28 minutes of play, defensive God Ron Baker -19 in 24 minutes of play

-Knicks to announce their jersey sponsor/logo today

Ok
DanMetroMan : 10/10/2017 10:59 am : link
Lee, KOQ and Jack to NO for Asik (2 years, cancels out Lee), Cheick Diallo (21 years old, .111 WS/48, 16.8 PER as a rookie), the Pelicans 2019 1st round pick and 2020 2nd round pick.
NO does seem like...

a really good partner. They need depth bad on that team. Even more so with the Rondo injury.
Squarespace.

The Knicks are basically a podcast now.
If jack got cut
hitdog42 : 10/10/2017 11:38 am : link
He wouldn’t get a phone call. Why would any team offer anything for him? Not happening.

I'd hold onto Jack

the Knicks need to rebuild and develop young talent. By all accounts I've seen, Jack is a great locker room presence. I want the Knicks to have a combination of young players getting minutes, and old vets who can teach the young guns to act and prepare the right way, all while losing enough games to get a great draft pick.
I am amazed by some of the comments
larryflower37 : 10/10/2017 12:48 pm : link
this is exactly what a tanking team looks like.
It will only get worse as the season progresses.
Hopefully, we do not lose KP and THR mentally
Interesting
DanMetroMan : 10/10/2017 12:52 pm : link
note (something to follow with THjr). Atkinson commented that he thought THjr did well with a hardass/tough love from Coach Bud. He might have the exact opposite here, maybe a dickhead like Rambis has value after all.

So who are you dropping? They have 15 guaranteed contracts.
If

Sessions, Lee, Noah, Lance Thomas, KOQ aren't enough veteran influence then we are in deep, deep shit in regard to the younger players.

If Bud ever shakes loose from Atlanta the Knicks should be all over him. Great coach. Let Hornacek rack up the losses and then find a real coach for next year. If things get bad I'd be fine firing him mid season but then your stuck with Rambis.

Is a player friendly system. Nets are running many parts of it along with some dantoni— if a team is rebuilding and wants players to improve... I think it’s about asmgoodnasmit gets. Knicks should hope bid shakes free

only glimmer of hope when it comes to Coach Bud is Atlanta's ownership/GM situation is in flux and it's not as if the Hawks look any better than the Knicks going forward so it's not "outrageous" to see a scenario where he would want to come here.

My concern is him finding minutes for a coach trying to save his job. THjr will get the majority of the 2 minutes so Lee/McDermott/Beasley/Kuz/Thomas... Hopefully guys like Lee are dealt.

This. A coach on the hot seat is going to be more concerned with wins than the development of the young players.
Porzingis is no shoe in that he's going to sign
Earl the goat : 10/10/2017 1:41 pm : link
A max deal with Knicks next year And he's certainly no shoe in to be a franchise player for Knicks

With that said I'd trade him to Boston( and Ainge would take him in a heart beat)
KP and Lance Thomas and Oquinn
For
Jaylen Brown
Jayson Tatum
Marcus Smart
2018 Lottery Pick
KP's really gonna have a bullseye on him this year.
bceagle05 : 10/10/2017 2:47 pm : link
No Melo or Phil for the media/fans to pick on, already some diva behavior, durability concerns, etc. Hahn and Wally are going in on him a bit and it's still preseason. Gonna be a long year under the microscope on a crappy team, especially with the Giants and Jets not stealing too many late fall/early winter headlines.
Brilliant trade suggestion Earl the Goat
Eliyah : 10/10/2017 2:51 pm : link
Maybe if you ask nicely Ainge will throw in Brad Stevens and their 17 championship banners too.
Yeah I didn't want to pile on
bceagle05 : 10/10/2017 3:00 pm : link
but Tatum, Brown and a first rounder is asking for the moon. The Knicks would be lucky to get two of those three pieces in a trade, and would have to seriously consider pulling the trigger if they did.

I know that no player is untouchable, but I'd resist dealing KP. He and Frank are versatile players with freakish length, and very easy to build around. Fast forward to June - the Knicks can take BPA at any position and feel confident they can fit him in a starting lineup with KP and Frank.
Just
DanMetroMan : 10/10/2017 3:07 pm : link
be patient. KP/Willy/Frank + Dotson, a not old THjr, 2 2nd rounders (including the Bulls pick which should be very high) and more likely than not a very high #1. Hope Perry proves his worth and is able to spin guys like Lee/KOQ/Kanter (aka not bad players) for assets.

I never said that Boston would do that but that could be starting point for Knicks
Anyway Elijah. No reason to be rude
