He made the correct decision in 2004, although Ben and Rivers have also had great careers. But Eli was the perfect QB for the Giants. So hire EA to evaluate Webb, and all the QBs coming out next year.
Now that that is set. Who do we bring in to consult on OL talent?
The last two offensive line coaches were well-respected vets and it hasn't worked. Let's see if Ian Allen or Wayne Lucier wants to try his hand at coaching.

Dye Job! We all know he was the architect of the two Super Bowls. Saying Reese had anything to do with both is like giving credit to the guy who set up player equipment prior to each game.

You are a discusting human being for using a word like that on this board or any where else
I sincerely hope the moderators do something about it
There's just no place for language like that
It's football not life and death for Gods sake ...
I know myself I have been guilty of a foul mouth but its
been out of provocation . I use to laugh at some of the craziness of the game threads . Now it's this attack mode
and its pretty sad watching this site grow into something
great and we forget what got us here .
Mean spirited isn't fun were not all perfect know every nuance of the game .. They just want to be involved ...
The sniping needs to end were all pissed because we are passionate but it's just a damn game ...
When he was GM he got absolutely killed here for his drafting and personnel decisions. Even after Eli. That finally calmed down when people took the long view. Now, he’s some kind of hero.
You get 7 picks and are considered successful if you hit on 3 of them as quality starters. Free agency is where GM's really need to be evaluated because you are signing proven talent to high bucks. Very risky because of the investment and pressure involved with the player needing to live up to the contract.
Remember the days of 12 draft picks? Does anybody remember Armstead being and 8th round draft pick and the 3rd LB drafted by NYG in 93? How about Matt Stover? 12th rounder. Pretty good kicker. Never kicked for us.
Some teams are better at drafting for team fit and system fit. EA was a pretty good GM. Reese has had his moments.
My biggest beef with Reese is his blatant disregard of the OL and LB positions. He hadn't really addressed the TE position this year and went over board, now we have 4 of them. I hope he does this with the OL next year.

Exactly, its not like Jerry Reese was running the draft room or head scout before he took over as GM! And that 2007 draft class had nothing to do with that first Super Bowl.
He’s been a consultant to several teams over the last several seasons. He’s still very much involved in the game.
I haven't seen any instance of Accorsi where he was involved beyond helping teams conduct their GM searches, and in most cases it was to refer current or former Giants execs.
If it extends beyond that, that's a different story, but his involvement to that point would be more along the lines of making introductions to people he knows rather than anything specifically football related. Has anyone paid him to scout anything since he left?
The OL is very problematic for Reese in that he actually dedicated three very high picks over several years and we have an even worse line now than we did 3-4 years ago. You don't keep giving Reese a chance to fix the line year after year, when the OL has been on a steep descent since our last SB run.
The defensive spending spree is also an issue. It highlighted the poor drafting at multiple positions on defense for a good period of time (LBs, DE, CB, even S before Collins was taken) and lack of quality depth on defense at every position. Nobody disputes that when an elite or very good player goes down, you're due for a downgrade, but in some instances, the gap when we lost players on D, was like going from 60mph to 10mph in the blink of an eye.
While Reese genuinely has a good eye for high-skill players/talented athletes, I'm not sold he's a guy who masters the concepts of team-building, sustainable drafting, and roster management.
Even if you don't let go of Reese, I think you have to consider bringing in an Exec. VP of Football Operations to oversee the entire operation this offseason.
The problem is we have Mara and Tisch basically doing this as owners. That's a fundamental mistake.
I don't fully trust Reese/McAdoo to make a choice on the possible next QB for the Giants.
Webb was simply a value/project pick in the 3rd round. If we get a Top 5 pick, you have to truly consider taking a QB. If Webb can't cut it, we're stuck in the doldrums for the next 3-4 years after, if not 5-6 years, hoping we can find a QB. Having Saquon Barkley and no QB, won't bring us to the playoffs.
The only kind of scouting EA has done in the past decade is his search to find a microphone to talk Bert Jones.

Jeff Hatch is my pick for that job.
You're a miserable cunt.

You realize the guy he's talking to admitted on another thread to having multiple handles and being banned several times, right?
But that doesn't excuse that kind of language.
Says the poster who in the middle of a game thread decided to write two paragraphs about how his grandfather molested him?
Eric - I'm not going to say B's outburst was warranted, but with frustration running high and dupes running amok, things got a little out of hand. Here's the reference post.

Because B's posts on football are actually readable - try that once and maybe I'll defend you next time.
Not holding my breath, though.

Who would she find more offensive Cam s words or yours, just askin?
