LOL, all of you guys wanted the guy crucified like 3 days ago - now you don't want to let him go?

I happen to think Joe is a pretty good manager. I honestly think fans will complain about almost any manager you can find.

I wouldn't be mad if the Mets hired him, but if the Yanks win tomorrow, he's not going anywhere anyway.
I'd be happy for the Mets to hire Girardi

but if they advance, I bet the Yanks are going to pay him and keep him.

I don't know if Girardi is the best possible candidate but he's done great with a young, rebuilding team in New York. That's what the Mets need.
I'd rather DH Sanchez when Gray Pitches

Then DH Headley or Ellsbury if we advance

I'd DH Sanchez when Gray pitches to help out with 90% of the pitches in the dirt
You guys are funny.

Pitch forks were out in full effect two days ago. Today everyone is sucking his knob.

I’d be more than happy to have Joe over here. He’s a good manager.
I wonder if this is the work

He has done a great job with generally mediocre talent over the past 10 years.

I don't know if he should be fired or not for it, but the non-challenge in Game 2 was inexcusable. (He wasn't exactly stand-up about accepting responsibility after the game--he claimed that he didn't want to break the pitcher's rhythm.) The team has been working toward this since February; they've endured all the rigors of a 162-game schedule to get to this point. There is no justification for not challenging the call at that juncture.

Today I read that the Indians had gone 35-6 over their previous 41 games heading into this playoff series. That's mind-boggling. Now the Yankees are essentially asked to take 4 out of 5 from a team that had lost only 6 times in their previous 41 games and hasn't dropped 3 in a row since July.

Like most of us, I have no idea what it's like to be in the locker room. I can imagine though that I would be pissed if I'm looking at a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity in the postseason and my manager has gifted a crucial playoff game to the best pitcher in the league and the best team in the game over the past few months.
who out there is better than girardi?

I can't think of anyone I'd rather have manage the yankees.

Let's be careful with that 'all'... Wasn't all of us, and doubt it was even most, although there was a huge and very vocal population.

I can't claim to know what it's like to be in that locker room either, but what I imagine is a team that stands by the manager who has stood by them through their slumps and their errors.
At least Girardi wouldn't fuck up every bullpen arm into ruin.

Mets view Girardi as the best candidate out there. Plus he lives locally and won't have to move his kids. Gives them a very good chance to sign him and keep him away from Jeter and the Marlins..
You don’t have to worry about Girardi
Rflairr : 10/11/2017 7:34 am : link
Going to the Mets. They aren’t.paying 4 mill for a manager. Not going to happen. They’ll hire one of these first time managers for around 800,000. They may pay 1 mill for a guy getting his second chance like Ausmus or Geren.
This would upset me so much
Shecky : 10/11/2017 8:04 am : link
Because I harp on it at least a few times a year. If they decide to pay $5mm a year to a manager and his name is Joe - why didn’t they sign the biggest free agent a few years ago?
