Holy cow. It just looks like the Captain is not running the ship right now. Not a good sign.
For all of you OBJ haters, just consider this. With all of his emmotion, criticism, 15 yard penalties, could you ever imagine this scenario playing out with him? He certainly has had plenty of opportunity to blow up at coaches or react negatively within the organization, but has not done it. I'm not saying he is a Saint, but for those of you who call Odell a distraction, look closely, this is what a real distraction (not a social media manufactured one) looks like.
I know I am getting old but these athletes just don't seem to understand the privilege they have in playing a boys game and getting paid insane amounts of money.
Grow up please DRC!
RE: Between this awful season and the whole national anthem issue

Grow up please DRC!
Yeah, I'm sure this whole national anthem issue is REALLY affecting you personally. Give me a break!
Nobody even farted or burped throughout the entire organization. Young HC going through the first brutal stretch of his career , trying to put down his markers. Finesse, high-strung corner putting himself before the team. Correct way to handle this : suspended immediately until he apologizes to the staff and team. Allow him back, but for one game all he does is cover kicks. If he balks, send him out for the season.
BTW ; 100% behind McAdoo on this . Rodgers -Cromartie is completely out of line .
He is still one of the best coverage guys in the league and Apple is not able to cover yet out there.
DRC is never going to be a big tackler because he has a slender build. But he can cover and should have been outside. That's his strength because of his height and tremendous recovery speed.
So, you are already playing him out of position as slot corner and then you ask him to move to safety. Meanwhile, he looks over and sees Apple routinely getting beaten and not knowing how to play the ball. And they just handed this kid your job?
I don't blame him for being mad. Should not have left the team. But BM and Spags need to take a look in the mirror.
I know I am getting old but these athletes just don't seem to understand the privilege they have in playing a boys game and getting paid insane amounts of money.

Yeah, I'm sure this whole national anthem issue is REALLY affecting you personally. Give me a break!
Who are you to say about my feelings about the anthem? I think it is tearing the league apart and is turning fans away.
I am not a veteran and I am not a black man. I am stating this as a person who would never go to work and use that same platform to disrespect others in order to get my point across especially while pissing off my customers. All these athletes have cell phones and instagram account and facebook pages and twitter where they can make a statement about their feelings on any issue, but to kneel at the national anthem and disrespect people who have lost life and limb is not cool.
Football use to bring people of all races and backgrounds together now it is splitting us apart.
that DRC is a known malcontent and I'm siding with him rather than McAdoo.
Think about how bad the Coach has to be to lose the team after going 11-5 last year.
I've never seen such an implosion, and from what I've seen and read, it looks to me that the common denominator in the buffoonery is the Coach.
Excellent point. At first, my reaction was why would you mess with a veteran. Then I thought about it some more and remembered DRC has had issues in his past. Then I realized I still seemed to side with him on this one. I'm sorry, but 11-5 means shit to me given he has no other resume to sit on. McAdoo is a terrible HC and isn't losing this team; he has already lost it. My main concern now is that Eli doesn't get seriously hurt finishing out this season.
I think DRC has been one of the brightest spots on the team since he got here. In fact, I think he's been one of best Giants players since he got here.
Cut bait now. Use the rest of the year to throw an interim coach and GM out there and see if you can possibly get a cohesive OL and find a serviceable #2 or #3 WR for next year out of the guys they will cobble together.
You have half a year to talk to coaching prospects and GM candidates.

DRC was held accountable for his play on Sunday by the coaching staff. McAdoo included.
DRC didn't like that in the least.
DRC let it fester the days following the game, leading to a heated exchange between him and the asst coach (Spags?) on Tuesday, then with McAdoo on Wednesday.
DRC exploded and lost his temper after being told he was being benched (suspended) for 1/2 a game. DRC leaves the building.
Conclusion. The coaches doing their job holding players accountable for their performance with another overpaid prima-donna athlete who did not like being criticized and suspended.
DRC sulked, had his little temper tantrum, stormed off, realized he overreacted and returned.
McAdoo still has the team, but losing is not easy for anyone to handle. Players, coaches, owners and fans.
I don't know why everyone is spinning it a different way
he grossly miscalculated 2013, drafts were horrendous from 2008 to 2013, not great aside from Beckham in 2014, TBD 2015-2017. The defensive drafts were so bad that he was forced to (and allowed by owners) to spend $200 million to fill the holes left behind. And that's just personnel.
Since the 2013 season ended, he has overseen the replacement of the Def Co, Off Co, OL Coach and Head Coach and here we are in the middle of potentially the worst Giants season since 1974s 2-12. When is it Reese's fault?
will side with a teammate (as long as it's not a crazy situation where the player is clearly at fault) over the coach especially in a 0-5 and likely 0-6 situation. And particularly when the player is talented and liked in the room.
McNcheese is in a no-win situation and he only has himself, his staff and underperforming players with ridiculous contracts to blame.
Did Mara and Tisch see in this guy? Not known as
An offensive wiz X and O genius. Not a crazy resume. His interview in that suit was almost comical. Giants always seemed to want a TC or Saban who had big time credentials or a presence.

You don't know what set off DRC.
So that makes the rest of your post pure speculation.
You don't know what happened. Nor do I. It's all speculation.
If the coach questioned the player's toughness, all bets are off. And especially coming from a guy who never even got close to playing in the NFL - let alone as long as DRC has.
There's a weird overall feeling here that many are siding with DRC despite not knowing all the facts. That's troubling.
I know I am getting old but these athletes just don't seem to understand the privilege they have in playing a boys game and getting paid insane amounts of money.

The only thing that is not Reese's fault is McAdoo, since he didn't hire him.
Now, assuming Reese is actually the GM and not Chris Mara, then yeah, it's his fault.

I really wish people would stop saying stupid shit like " its a privilege" as if these guys didn't train their entire lives for this. as if they were randomly selected off the street and did nothing to get there. And news flash, football wasn't invented for little kids. It was another version of Ruby constructed by MEN for MEN. if their money is insane what would you call the owners who pay them, money?
Did Mara and Tisch see in this guy? Not known as
An offensive wiz X and O genius. Not a crazy resume. His interview in that suit was almost comical. Giants always seemed to want a TC or Saban who had big time credentials or a presence.
They went w this clown.
It seems to me it was all about trying to emulate what the Packers do on offense and McAdoo was the guy who was available to do it.

Its a good question, what did they see? I think yes, they were trying to emulate the success of the Packers offense (which is kind of dumb if you consider that offense is really all about Aaron Rodgers who isn't anything like Eli). I also think they were looking for a Mike Tomlin type of hire - young and up and coming - didn't want a retread type. Big suit aside, I bet McAdoo interviews pretty well. He probably talked about heavy handed football and protecting the duke in all phases of complete complementary football and building a roster of fine young gentlemen (or whatever that was he said). McAdoo is a buzzword boss speak guy - all hat, no cattle.

Someone like TC gets some Slack for a few years and not get fired but I think if it really stays this bad he's got an almost impossible job even if the players don't totally revolt
Team has handled diva OBJ. His lack of respect for the coach, Mara and me first attitude becomes a problem when team is losing. Other players Apple, Collins and DRC speaking up when their play is questioned.

Why release one our best players. Fire this bozo coach. Bring back Fassel
I'm told DRC came off after play on which he was hurt Sunday and threw his helmet on sideline in disgust. "More mad at himself," source said
DRC: "I have no clue what the hell that means!"
BM: "That's it! -- YOU'RE SUSPENDED!!!"
Outstanding! And probably accurate.

DRC is a very good player, if what he says is true, suspended before he left the room, that sounds more like an insecure coach than a player problem.

MacAdoo suspended him and then he left. Not the bullshit you guys keep repeating. DRC has no reason to lie about this shit.
... but it really does have the appearance of a coach completely losing the team, for whatever reason(s).
I know I'm not saying anything new here. It's just so alarming, I feel as though it can't be over-stated.
